I don't know anyone will agree but I think some big cities require a specific driving style - for example everyone was driving on even though there was a man standing in the road (on a zebra crossing?). Most of the time you probably shouldn't do that but in new York (and other big cities) you have to. You have to guess the guy will stay where he is.
I wonder if Tesla will develop different driving styles for different areas.

@@iainmrodgers9991 If people drive differently based on specific locations, then I think FSD should too. It's the only way to get to robotaxi that people will accept. Especially in NYC, there's constantly a battle of wills between pedestrians and vehicles.

afik. pedestrians that are on the zebra crossing have the right of way and the cars have to yield to them, by law. Very tricky problem to solve, as that pedestrian only needed to make two steps to be in front of the car and driver would have been responsible for the consequences. Just one of the many Easy money maker rackets that the gangsters have going. Deliberately slow road speed limits, that no one wants to drive at is another. 😉

@@yesno9592 I mistakenly said "zebra crossing" but he was on a pedestrian crossing. The cars had the green light. In that situation in a small town you might give way to the pedestrian but in the city you would definitely not.
The only point of saying that is that driving behavior can vary a bit depending on circumstances.

Zebra crossing is just another name for pedestrian crossing 🚸 afik. 🫤

At 16:40 would it have collided with the barrier?

No it was coming to a stop. I knew it would just get stuck there so I took over.

new york traffic is why I’m looking forward to the day the only vehicles allowed on US roads are Teslas, Waymos and other artificially intelligent full self driving vehicles that can communicate with one another. I see these instances in this video where if it’s only full self driving AI vehicles on the road, the other cars would’ve taken the safest action, slowed down and given way so you could safely and seamlessly merge into traffic or never cut you off in your lane.
