Umm I have meet some rude ass people at a post office behind the counters. In Florida of all places. They charge us citizens crazy prices. Do you think Amazon pays postage? Nope!!
They do actually, a'lot. Not as much as the should. But they pay a decent amount of money. It's a big reason they're edging into delivery themselves.

Ordered something from a neighboring state I could drive there in 4 hours. Should have take 3 days tops. Took me 8 almost 9 days! What a crock of 💩. I'm going to ups or FedEx from here on

I work at the USPS and since Obama was the president the Post Office has been having problems financially, they had to close a lot of offices to combine them. The new plant manager general is doing a good job, but the democrats don’t like him because he was friends with trump and he is trying to save the institution, the democrats want to make the USPS a private business, but he is doing his best to keeping it federal
We want Mail everyday that leave us less days to conduct business

@@MCV-xg7kc you are lucky. I shipped a package overnight for a live stream charity event and half the items were missing. The check they cut me was less than the cost of shipping let alone the items missing. I have had boxes of collectable books disappear only to turn back up as a partial box to the original sender and when I mean partial box none of the books were whole.
I am a young man 27 just resigned from USPS after 2 years...treat you like absolute garbage and run you into the ground ..mismanagement from the top down and a shame because I actually liked the job ... I could write a book about all of the issues I observed while working there.
MANY WONDERFUL OLD TIMERS who helped make the job bearable in spite of the constant harassment and verbal abuse from management.
I thank you for delivering my mail and not to mention mail and packages were stacking up during pandemic. One of employees at my post office said there was a mountain at the post office and the people was so scared of handling mail during Covid stayed home!!!

Since 2010 the USPS removed the tray sorting machines from many p&dc plants because the volume of letters are very low they don’t need those big machines anymore instead they got apps and apps to process parcels 📦 in the district we I work only one office do sort letters from all the offices of that district

I am upset about the rising price of my P.O. Box! It has risen $60.00 in the last 5 years! And that is for just 6 months of service! I can't believe it. This is in California. Then they cut back the hours I can access my Box. It went from 24/7 to just 9am- 6pm. They say it is because of homeless people, but the building is across the parking lot crosswalk from the police station! TOTAL CRAP! Don't blame Postmaster DeJoy. He wasn't even on board when this all started.

This was not all postal service people. Maybe you need to hire reliable in charge of people. The postal service is not a part of the federal w. They released this company years ago.
About 10 years ago, I had conversation with a friend who was a postmaster. He said he had not hired anyone under 25 who worked out. They would come in late. He would send them on a 15 minute break and they would take an hour. He would send them for an hour lunch and be lucky if they came back in 2. He would bring it up on their 30 day review and warn them if it didn't change, they wouldn't have a job. He had the same conversation on their 60 day review. He would talk to them on day 89 telling them that either they resigned then or they would be fired on day 90. He got cursed out by most of them for being unfair. If others kept them, that is the work ethic of those being promoted into management.

The postal company was robed by obumer. He raided the retirement fund and the working funds. Those constantly repair daily vans run in rural area. Our mail carrier is great, Mercedes vans are crap

Yea I remember They arrested at least 2 people throwing away Trump votes out in gutters and trash one is caught on video and the whistle blower that came out and said one of the managers (by name) had his special employees go through mail and dispose of it ,it was also Trump votes being disposed . USPS culture problems are they are leftist.
I’ve had a few packages coming from that area and man did they lake long.
Following the tracking number you could see it go into the system and just sit in one office for days. Then another office. Same thing.

They did it to me. People wanted to steal product t from my door.
Postal workers did not want to kock on the door or put packages in mail boxes, even when those mail boxes were large enough.
It's very important to not just hike prices. I don't think the USPS needs to be "profitable" as a service to the people and I think an overinflated management (who need to be delivering really), requiring employees complete overtime, and a high turnover rate is losing them the most money. Amazon is currently sucking them dry too. They need to pay and treat their employees fairly. Carriers and clerks are doing more work than ever before. They are the backbone. They are contractually not even allowed to publicly voice how miserable they are. UPS employees get paid phenomenally well I hear some $40/hr, and max out their base pay in 4-5 years.
Also the delay in mail is because mail is becoming an afterthought. It is Amazon that has a aneurysm whenever we fail to deliver their parcels on time. We care more about Amazon packages than we do mail. Amazon is also shafting the USPS for each package we deliver due to the agreement between both companies. Amazon is slobbering right about now over the USPS struggling. I do not want Amazon to buy out a federal organization. Amazon needs to be checked. And any folks that buy from them? You are killing America for your shitty items delivered "conveniently".
As to the attendance issue? The issue is real simple. You aren't paying employees for their work. Count the rural routes. I dare you. You're scheduling employees SO much with no days off that they are forced to CALL OUT just to get a day off. You have lazy ass management who refuse to roll up their sleeves and hold down a vacant route, and that's what they need to do if you refuse to take it easy on the subs or hire casual help. The few sups I've seen SUCK at sorting and delivering yet are fine hounding carrier asses. We used to get package help on heavy days, since DeJoy that's been over. They don't employ enough people to cover these issues. Your employees are mentally and physically breaking down and you're mad that they are starting to call out? The committee is completely correct here. There is a reason employee attendance has gotten worse. It is a symptom of the overall moral of the workforce. We worked as essential employees through the pandemic and are now dealing with record package volume. No hazard pay, no bonus, pay cuts in some instances due to new vehicle rollout based on an entirely different vehicle, more work, more overtime mandates. Everyone is frazzled and that guy plopped up there is scratching his head.
The solution is easy. Pay a stipend to every player who stays. Every carrier who shows up on time. Watch the workforce heal in record time if you accurately evaluate routes. Strategically cut up the routes missing a sub or a carrier for effective delivery. PAY PEOPLE.

Wouldn't matter how much you pay them, how many benefits they should be entitled to, if they refuse to deliver a package they need to get out of the business.

I'm in Florida. I mailed a package 6 weeks ago that still hasn't made it out of the state of Florida yet. When I call they say it's still on its way but it's delayed. For 6 weeks??? I paid $12 to mail it, I may as well have just gone to FedEx.
USPS does not know how to deliver packages. They need to stop offering that "service". If I have to drive to a neighboring city post office to retrieve my paid for delivery to my home and the USPS refuses to bring it to my home... yeah, they are incapable of providing delivery service.
Yes management needs to be looked at above and below the heads of the people that testified. I just wanted to get up and ask if the postal service has to pay out 1/2 a million dollars to workers because management took their money, then why should the government subsidize the postal service. Regardless of what’s happened in the past or under what leadership, though worth acknowledging, is irrelevant because we’re dealing with the current situation and basing questions on the current situations data is *not* partisan. I’m so done with accountability being touted as a “blame game” or an attack on rights or whatever other ridiculous buzzwords are politically expedited at the moment.
My package took three weeks to go 800 miles because it was misrouted in the complete opposite direction of its destination, held there for days before finally being sent on. I was told that during the holidays when FedEx and UPS were turning customers away because they could not guarantee deliveries to be on time because of the demand that these were handled by USPS who gladly took our money for a 2 day delivery knowing full well it wouldn't get there on time. 2 to 3 day = 2 to 3 weeks. It's criminal. No refund or compensation. There are very unhappy employees being directed by incompetent managers and cruel, arrogant postmasters. It's a damn disgrace. Liberals throw money at the problem like over indulgent parents do with their bratty, over privileged children. Trump was right. Don't reward bad behavior. The United States Post Office needs to get its shit together or be shut down.

My ex stole my mail for 3 months I still have written proof...I took my complaint to the Parker ,Colorado postmaster... she did nothing said she cannot do anything... my dad also had checks stolen one check coming in was 15,000 again nobody cares.... as of today it’s taking 20 days to send something from Denver to Parker terrible service. They don’t care...

I’m not one of those who give a favorable rating. However, our local postal employees do the best with what they have. It’s more a problem at distribution centers and larger post offices.
Contract Amazon to deliver our mail maybe then I would actually get my mail no excuses if I could order something in California and receive it in 48 hours in Chicago why can't these people give me my mail I guarantee somehow Amazon is it going to be the new Postal Service

Why should they comply with vaccine mandates. The Postal Service is Quasi Government, tax payers don't pay their salaries. The Postal Service generates it's own revenue. This is why they're exempt. And it also has a very strong union who's not going for it. This is why they're trying to find reasons to privatize it.

I cannot trust the post office when I would send a mascots money order thru the mail to a dog rescue charity. I believe there are those that would chuck checks/money orders in the dead letter box keeping it from getting to its destination.
