I am excited to say I have both of these little beauties on order but I think I'd throw up if I was in one of those bouncy bug boxes! The animated scenery details are brilliant. Well done.
I have my layout in the loft with varying temperatures and I have found that my models that have traction tyres need them replacing every 2 to 3 years. The rubber deteriorates over time and fitting new ones to this model (assuming they will be made available as spares) looks like it would be a nightmare as the coupling rods will need to be removed, and I would be fearful of causing damage to the model. I did have both models on pre-order with Hattons but have now canceled as the traction tyre issue killed it for me.
The loco looks great, runs and pulls well and if you buy from Derails is well priced at £135.00. The only problem is the build quality is not to Pecos' normal high standard. This problem seems to be being sorted.
Shame we couldn't hear the loco or tell if it was really quiet due to the strange background noise. Lost opportunity not to put a dcc socket in the tender too.
The loco looks lovely, but the carriages appear to have been fitted with the wheels from a clown car. Surely it is possible to make wheels that are concentric with the axles these days.
@@PECOrailwaymodeller Well, as the video is supposed to be for PECO and not just the England engine I think you missed out there. Even I have spare wheels to hand, concentric ones to boot!
Really an odd move to not include a DCC socket. In 2021, we’re starting to see coaches come with dcc capability. To have a brand new loco coming out without this is more than strange…
I have been a DCC user since 1997 importing my own Digtrax from the USA. I'm now in 009 and don't think DCC is necessary for the scale . Yes I know everyone's different and I'm sure a mini decoder could be fitted . Seen these in the flesh and they are superb
@@dawdawes they are DCC compatable with some modifications to the engine needing to be made. What these modifications are, I have no clue. I would personally hardwire the decoder and put the decoder in the tender.
Bit of a let with it having traction tyres and no dcc socket especially since the quarry hunslets r coming dcc ready and with no traction tyres yet being a smaller model
Kato have made engineered this and unfortunately in Japan dcc isn’t as commonplace as they really only include 8-pin sockets on rare HO locomotives, and I would guess that PECO mandated having the traction tyres
It's the motorised water wheel scene in the first clip. Sadly it couldn't be isolated when operating the layout - due to it being one of the Pecorama exhibits
Thanks for exhibiting at West End Models on Feb11/12 , Prince and Princess are even nicer in the flesh

J jmu
Loved the layout and animated scenery, spotted the bunny.
Very beautiful model that I can add to my narrow gauge fleet

haven't seen anything about traction tires.

With a Quarry Hunslet and a Western 15XX already on pre-order, think I’ll have to wait until this loco softens in price :/ it looks brilliant, too
If you want a better price and earlier release buy it from a Japanese import site, you’ll be paying a lot less
Corr thats nice, Hate to be a passenger in the coaches with all that rocking!

Can Peco make a Sir Haden next?

Hi there. The coaches were one that we had to hand in the RM office (believe these were early livery samples, before the th product run).

@@mikebeard9140 True that. Get all aspects right is you are flogging summit, Even that Waterwheel noise
Those 'bug-boxes' have square wheels!
What a gallant old engine

What is making all the noise in the video? Is it Prince or something else in the room?
It's the motorised water wheel scene in the first clip. Sadly it couldn't be isolated when operating the layout - due to it being one of the Pecorama exhibits
Thanks Peco. I wouldn't want people to unfairly think it was Prince as it seemed odd otherwise. Now it all makes sense.
Well it’s noisy, expensive and plasticy
I'm not fully convinced it is prince making the racket. It stops stationary and the sound continues.
As mentioned in the video description the noise is from the motorised water wheel on the layout, as seen in the first clip.
