Something to consider...for the 3d printed RC airplanes most designers build in alignment tabs into the STL file to help keep parts aligned during assembly. If you plan the printing properly you could even design in a lip for the front and rear hold downs too.
Great 3D printing and assembly strategy. A higher polygon density / STL file resolution could save you a lot of bondo, and many hours of sanding, imho.
PLA+ has virtually no shrinkage, is a lot stiffer, and a lot easier to print than PETG. We run into problems with PETG when printing RC airplanes being too flexible where PLA+ is not.
@@thedocdodge PLA stands up to it just fine with 1 exception...heat. Probably a good idea not to let it sit in a hot car for too long. Hot car interior has warped 3 of my 3d printed airplanes. 2 were PLA and 1 was PLA+. My next plane will be ABS+.

I didn't have time to watch the full video so I apologize if you covered this. An idea to aid assembly is size the hull parts so they fit on a piece of plastic tubing to act as mandrel. You could precut out ports in the tube for access. Lining up, glueing and finishing the individual 3D printed sections have been an issue for me on similar projects. Always enjoy watching your Channel.
Got the .stls's and for those with fairly standard cartesian printers the times to print, for example on an Ender-3 at .2mm layers with a 10% fill the stern section alone was predicted at over 24 hours. I did tally up the total time at something over 200 hours. I eventually ran the printer at .3mm which was fine if a little rough but only for a few sections, life got to feel a little too short after running these off Still it gave me the prod to buy a delta which has all of the parts wrapped up in just over 100 hours at .3mm and 10%, Surface is rough but them I'm going to fill over it so I figure it just give a good key for the filler!! Cost is acceptable, even adding in the cost of the delta printer. Materials cost is actually quite low, you can print the whole thing with less than a Kg reel of material. I'm redesigning the impeller blade a little and making a few scale deck fittings for fun and most of the WTC parts will be printed as well. Overall it is a good hull design and a reasonable copy of the original. It would be nice if there were some optional sizes for the bulkhead lower sections, try buying anything imperial in Europe!! 3 inch tube is rather like hens teeth, an 80mm option would be very handy. Else Nice one Bob
Very sharp looking model Bob. Note to watchers: If You're going to go to the trouble of using auto body filler, I highly recommend using Rage just like Bob is using here.
