I was deeply involved with Skip's ALBACORE and MARLIN kits from the beginning. I drafted the plans (orthographic, and isometric views provided) for the ALBACORE; as well as cast metal detail parts and cast resin control surfaces. D&E Miniatures (I did masters and tools, Ellie did much of the production work) provided a very comprehensive fittings package for Skip's MARLINE kit, comprising cast metal and cast resin pieces. Later, through our own agency, we produced after-market fitting to upgrade the ALBACORE kit to phase-2, phase-3, and phase-4 standard. I point all this out as Skip was -- as long as we knew him -- reticent to reveal or acknowledge associates who participated in the planning and production of his commercially available products. Thanks for putting this out there, David! You've had your hand in the vast majority of commercially available kits, especially those in the early days of the hobby. You deserve the recognition, for sure!
mid 70's me and my uncle made our own out of glass etc, still have them , lol no ours are not as nice but they worked , getting back into making a few , getting a 3d printer , scratch build time , love building rc stuff old school

I believe both those Albacore are configured as phase 2. Phase 1 had the rudder after the prop and had additional front hydroplanes.
