I'm torn. On one hand, I'd love for your theory about Vos to be true. It fits, with the corpse of a Demi-god being used to open portals, the corpse of an entire Elder God would absolutely warp the very world around it. On the other hand, to have the big reveal of Vos after so many years come and say "yeah he's been dead this whole time lol" would be such a let down.
my thoughts are Zaros went looking for it and the Moksha hid its presence - it being dead might be WHY it was never found - or more horrifying, what if the parasite that infected in hatched etc, like a wasp laying an egg in a caterpillar!
My theory so far regarding Vos is that she/it is Jas. Or rather the warped form of Jas after she got dragged into erebus. It seems like erebus has another aspect of time or rather exists outside of time. This would fit Jas as she is the divine aspect of time. It would also explain how Zaros might have communicated with Vos before Jas was dragged in. Vos has always existed because her existence is outside of our time. "The spiral of time leads only to the gaping maw of eternity"
i think thats also a possibility - with the painting it almost implied she became VOS but when i interviewed Mod Shrike she mentions thats why she destroyed the needle (mod shrike) hated time travel and how it convoludes stories however this could also outright just be her not spoiling it. i think it makes alot of sense tbh
Time travel often complicate or downright ruin stories if its not handled carefully. I think they could pull it off, however i do understand why they chose to destroy the needle. It made sense, and followed Guthix' prediction. But i feel like there is more to time than just the needle. Jas created it and therefor might be attuned to time it self without outright control of it. The elder artifacts are tools. Tools for precision. I see the needle more like a lense, something to look through and give you a clear vision. The future, the past or what ever you want to manipulate. But the raw power must stem from somewhere. If Jas is truly deads, then thats the end of the power. If not.. well.. i hope we get to experience that. Thanks for reply btw. Love your videos and theories. The elder gods lore, Xau-tak and black stone is just incredible storytelling, and its nice to hear others theorize on the matter . @@prideslayer77
Bilrach is Xau-tak. Zemo after Requiem for a Dragon seemed confident that he was good and dead prior to his appearance at the Ungael Ritual Site. It appears Moia, either out of her own ambition or via manipulation, has allowed an Shadow entity into Bilrach's corpse. How? The Moksha machine at Daemonheim. It won't work when we try it because it's calibrated for something that isn't a god, hence a god's stand in doesn't work. It's also possibly permanently broken after repeated use from the Kal'ger and Moia's use.
oh wow you think Bilrach is the Big Evil!? could be! i wanna do a deep dive on him soon! hey btw tysm for watching and commenting. this took alot of work but i love getting to chat w my homies aboutit!
Earned a subscribe from me! Would love to see more Dungeoneering videos, it was my first 99 and I love that skill so much! Gave me endless happiness and reprise from my shitty youth!
You were right about this being a juicy video :D I hope you're right about this being the site of a future shadow elder god conflict, though given the budget restrictions that the mods have brought up in your interview with them, I'd imagine it'd be a subtle "cold war" with limited obvious influence at least for now.
Zaros during his empire would no doubt have had ample time to study the enormity of the form in the background of the dig site. Any god aware of it would have too, considering they can move practically anywhere they feel like via teleportation. The Dragonkin lock only really kept mortals and mahjarrat out. Considering Forinthry was very hotly contested territory for the entire duration of the god wars, Zamorak was willing to go to great lengths to defeat the other gods vying for control over it, and that it had played host to war bands fighting for all manner of gods for a long time, perhaps there is a reason for that. Said reason being the form under Deamonheim. Gods would not need to tell their followers why they want forinthry (and they many times indeed do give orders while letting their followers assume reasoning), so none would be any the wiser. The deities seem to also be drawn to places and objects of power for a multitude of reasons. Perhaps the secret of what lay under Deamonheim was not such a secret to the gods thus? In addition, if we assume the body to be a demon that contains immense amounts of information, perhaps Guthix too had made use of this knowledge to see if it says his plans will work out? After banishing the gods and doing his rounds, I suspect he might have not just gone straight to sleeping again.
23:05 Take this quote from Sliske's Endgame post-quest dialogue: Azzanadra: My lord has returned here after the affair. He was invigorated and determined in a way I have not seen him in some time. He has left this world for the moment, seeking something beyond the stars. 😉
I definitely didn't buy that part either when I tried to test that machine. What if there's another one that's not visible to us? Even if I was successful in breaking the device by stomping on it, trampling on it, breaking it apart, there might be more. Those darn Zamorakians! I swear if it's Vos corrupted by Black Stone, then being terrified of what I saw down there made a lot of sense!
Great video man, so glad we, the lore community, have people like you to spread the word and effectively summarize the lore, making it look so cool and connected! Regarding Ocularis and Erebus, don’t forget the Scions of Erebus book where Ocularis was mentioned to possibly have knowledge of Erebus by Cthnonian Abyssal Demons! Regarding Vos, it’s a wonder whether or not Vos was originally a Shadow Elder God, or was he the one that the fifth Kra chamber in Heart of Stone was meant for? You mentioned Vos could have been corrupted. If so, the question is why doesn’t Vos have an egg on Freneskae? Totally agreed with you at the end. RuneScape has the perfect blend of crazy bizarro lore mixed with quirky and fun adventures that remind you not to take everything so seriously. It stimulates the imagination!
Are we nearing the end of the game? Once we've fought (and somehow taken down Xau-Tak even though it's supposed to be literally impossible) what then? - Will we see the beginning of a new game, will we finally get to play RS4, taking place in a post-apocalyptic world where our skills will become more needed than ever before? So many questions left to be answered.
Nah the Xau-Tak Erebus stuff was to inject back mystery that was RS was lacking due to having run through its other bug mysteries. The main villains right now are the zamorakians and we have a whole lot of stories with them to tell before we really deal with another hyper escalated threat. For now think of this stuff like zaros and SoJ and Mahjarrat were in RS2, things sprinkled and teased throughout the narratives.
Damn, my reaction was removed. I was wondering why you didn't mention the shadowy appearance that we could see in the dev blog from april. Loved the vid & The RS God xD edit: removed because I linked to the rs post I think
I have a theory regarding Vos but it needs the background of another theory to make sense. For some reason the elder's after hatching dismattle all previous worlds even though they are capable of creating things from nothing now this could be to save energy or it has a more important meaning (I'll get to this later). Also we know that the top of the previous revision is the bottom of the new revision i.e. the elders are constantly build up and away from something. This something being the shadow realm/erebus as we know it to be thicker the further down you go. Finally Kerapacs device didn't create shadow anima from nothing it converted existing anima into shadow anima. You probably are wondering where I'm going with this and its that anima naturally decays into shadow anima and this is why the elders dismantle old worlds to prevent them from becoming shadow anima generators. This is also why the shadows are creeping upwards because there are worlds from many revisions ago that have long sense decayed into shadow anima generators constantly creating new shadow anima and pushing it upwards. The elders now prevent new shadow anima generators from being created but can't do anything about the existing ones. Now back to Vos if anima decays into shadow anima does divine energy decay? And if so it now makes perfect sense why the elders would go through the risk of reincarnating because if they don't they will decay into another Vos. So thats my theory Vos is an elder god that for what ever reason decided to not reincarnate in a previous revision and overtime their body decayed away into the shadows leaving only its mind and a desire for a new body it can inhabit. This is also how mah got corrupted Vos attempted to reincarnate into mah's egg in the previous revision but failed.
Why does ‘blink’ look like this one dude I remember at a dubstep concert on new years eve in like 2011, when I was fk’d up 😂 really good video man! Loved every second of it, they are really drawing me in now and im hooked.
Zaros maybe, but i expect there to be casualties in the Shadow God wars - especially if other Gods of erebus needs vessels - think about it if Moia is collecting energy from other beings, when does she take it from zamorak himself even?

He is a god
damn!!!! I am so glad to find this channel!!!!!! I love runescape lore and few people cover it!!! thanks for your work!
it’s a waste of exp to read the quest texts… much more efficient to watch a prideslayer video and spacebar the quest… /s

You could become a huge RS content maker if you specialize on RS3 lore videos of this quality! Well done!
yooo that means alot! what kind of vid would you like to see?? i have several in the production - let me know! and so kind of you tysm for watching!

This was a finer moment. "Or better yet, BYPASS THEM ENTIRELY." omg
I wouldn't be surprised if we see another moksha device somewhere else and that we need 3 or more of them active to bring in another being.
Love the Lore and how well you connect everything. Would love to see some content like this but going from 1st Age to present!
Sweet video, really appreciate the editing here.
crazy how the new pickaxe of life and death is also using a piece of the black stone that the black mask was created from... very cool!
I love your passion for the lore, the lore is Deff one of the major things that keeps making me comeback to rs3

I still can't believe you got that black stone hand random event.
OMG DUDE THIS IS ALREADY BLOWING MY MIIIIIIIIND 🫠
The way they set up lore is extremely intriguing and gets you really hyped for what's to come. Unless it is not forgotten...
Great video btw 👍🏽
Some interesting Lore for sure. Keep up the good work!
Do you think you can save them all?

I'm hoping we'll get more kharidian lore. Like what has Amascut been up to during all this time? where is scarabs? Will Tumeken be revived?
hostillius will be the skilling boss, using thief and other support skills

No, Rs4 is not a thing and may never be one.

Gotta ask what Gods do you think will die based on your thumbnail?
Zaros maybe, but i expect there to be casualties in the Shadow God wars - especially if other Gods of erebus needs vessels - think about it if Moia is collecting energy from other beings, when does she take it from zamorak himself even?
