I just discovered this location and since I live only 20 miles from there, it will be a monthly expedition AT LEAST! Absolutely beautiful place.

We have pitcher plants in our greenhouse. My research professor told me that our old greenhouse attendant was watering them with regular tap water (with a high mineral content) and that the plant stopped producing flowers. They then switched to deionized water and they have been producing pitchers ever since.

Plants are cool too! (and also friendily cats!).
Wonderful resource for my class in Plant Sistematics in Brazil and already forwarded to them.
Looking forward to see more cool plants!
    Thanks!

I grow these in a kiddie pool distilled water 2" up the sides of the pots, 50% peat moss/50% perlite. no dirt.. cheap and effective $20 for the pool at Tractor Supply. be sure to cut drainage holes and keep them unplugged so it doesn't flood your plants in a heavy rain. throw in a submerged bladderwort for mosquito larvae control.
