    Imagine enrolling for a 1.5 yr or 2 yr Masters course and they say you have to wait 2 years for a public affordable accommodation.

    One of the most informative videos I’ve seen! Well-done :) One thing I’m not entirely understanding is the wait period. For instance, if I want to study there for the winter semester, would you recommend applying to halls that have a 1 semester waiting period in order to increase my chances of having a room by that time?

    • @AnaaCristina
      @AnaaCristina  3 года назад +1

      Hello! Thank you soso much! I am so glad to hear you liked it! 🥰 to answear your question, what I am saying is that you should apply to these public dormitories if you are okay with waiting at least 3-4 Semesters to get a room there, and until then you have to find (on your own) some other place to live in. You can only register for the public/private student dorms when you've recieved you certificate of enrollment. I reccomend (for the first semesters) either the public dorms (but keep in mind that they can obviously be more expensive than the public ones) or independent appartements/studios/WGs that you can find on the internet)

    • @Mysterymichelle
      @Mysterymichelle 3 года назад +1

      @@AnaaCristina Thank you for the response! How early do you recommend I look for private dorms, independent apartments, etc. before studying in Germany? (I plan on starting next winter semester)

    • @AnaaCristina
      @AnaaCristina  3 года назад +1

      I would say ASAP! It's good to decide in advance what dorms you like, what you can afford and what dorm is worth it for you. However, you can only apply to a dorm, when you recieve your certificate of enrollment, which will be a few weeks or 1-2 month before the beginning of your study. Exceptionally, some dorms also accept a "Zulassungsbescheiningung" which is a document that states that you've been accepted to the college, but you are still waiting to officially enroll. Independent apartments/WGs might be not that selective and might not require your documents so early on, but it really depends on each an every person/institution.

      By the way next year I will turn 19 and also I will start preparing for the JEE Advanced as it will allow me to skip studienkolleg according to anabin. My aim is to go for bachelor's degree in EE but they need language requirements and now I am confused B2 or C1 because this will again take some time and I want to come to Germany by the time I am 20 so that I can be friends with girls like you😀 You are so beautiful😊
      Please help me in the language part if you can somehow. Thank you😇
      Edited to say that last part I was joking actually I figured out that going early helps a bit in adjusting and learning language and connections too. I know you will get it but still I felt that not everyone may understand me I am a kind of complex one. Leave it just answer can you guide me in the language section ma'am?😂

      @@afrinahmed1620 hey, im also preparing for the jee advanced (2022 attempt), and i want to study in germany too!
      obviously i have no experience but ive heard that even if you are allowed to go to a german university with the jee adv results, you should attend a studienkolleg anyways. because they teach in german there and you might know all the maths and science concepts but you dont know them in german, yk? like for example if they ask you to derive something, you know how to do it but you might not know the word 'derivation' in german.
      so its a very good way for you to practice your german and brush up on concepts so that you will be 100% prepared for university. they also teach other useful things like how to properly write formal essays and dissertations and stuff in german and how to take proper structured notes, etc. it will also help you get used to the culture and system before you actually start the real university studying.
      since i dont know much german (you need a b2 to go to a studienkolleg) i plan on going to the goethe institute for a while and then the studienkolleg - then i will study at lmu or tum, hopefully. obviously your situation might be different but i thought maybe this could be helpful to you? idk
      good luck on your results and i hope you get accepted!

    • @AnaaCristina
      @AnaaCristina  3 года назад

      You have to find the accommodation on your own. You can enroll on a list for public dorms as soon as you get your certificate of enrollment, but the whole process takes a while (like I said in the video). And while you are waiting (it can take 2-5 semesters) you have to find a place to live, either in a WG, private dorm or just a regular apartment.
