"Ideally I'd pick up guaranteed backup food. But yeah, I won't die, it's fine" he says right before diving down the chasm towards the final boss with 1/4 heart and 3 weapons.
I love the idea that this is the canon events in the TotK universe. Link wakes up and wastes no time in defeating Ganondorf. He has no idea about anything else that has happened and just kicks ass
reminds me of a fan-story crossover where Link and many other characters are in a Time Loop, re-doing EVERYTHING over and over with no end in sight... so Link got bored and decided to beat EVERY boss with just Branches or Deku Sticks!
Yeah, when I saw that notification I was like oh really this is not the cool stuff... But really that run looks incredibly cool and also way harder that regular any%
isn’t it weird how half the speedrunning community is always putting down the other half (any% vs gltichless), like just enjoy the run, enjoy the streamer, enjoy the game, shut up about which is better because majority of the time the speedrunner also does the other type
When I found that out it totally opened things up for early game exploration :). I also found a cadence of walking/stopping you can do on a slope that you'd normally slide down (where you repeatedly almost get into the climbing animation but not quite) that will refill your stamina, and while it doesn't work on sheer walls it works where you normally wouldn't be able to stop and regain stamina. It just takes practice to get the timing right.
The gloom's approach setup part of this run is really cool. Love all the different things you collect. Other runs are cool, but they don't even make use of a cart shield so what's even the point.
I'm here to cheer for my chad Colgera, dude's name has been in your TOTK videos for so long, and finally showing up after 3 months!!! I hope Colgera gets you in your attempts! GG GL!!!! I'm wanting to have a 2nd playthru of TOTK, this glitchless route looks so fun!
Excited to see that you're going to be running all dungeons, that run is really cool. A bit long, sure, but the majority of the run isn't Great Sky Island which is a big win in my book lol. Runs where you have to gather materials and fight bosses have a nice charm to them. Glitches are cool, but you are skipping a lot of fun stuff. Also really looking forwards to that video about explaining the glitchless route.
I'm trying to beat the game going straight to the final boss, and trust me, the annoying parts are only the army(first and last wave) and the gibdo summoned by queen gibgo I didn't managed to get to phantom Ganon down there(in my best try I ended up killing myself on the fence of the spirit temple boss lol) but I guess some bombs with a X3 savage lynel bow will do the work
This is 1000x better than the glitchy speed runs. Like I don’t care how fast you can beat the game by not actually playing it. I mean what if someone found a key combination that when you did it, you glitched and automatically the game was over. So it took a few seconds. Would that be impressive?
That's pretty cool, but I don't think it would increase our damage output against ganondorf because we're using royal weapons that double damage during flurry rushes making them deal ~100 per hit which would be more than a double gloom weapon does.
How do you guys figure this stuff out? I never would have come across any of these shortcuts. I’ve been playing since the game went live and still looking for lizalfos tails and koroks lol
THIS is what I hope TerminalMontage shows off in his inevietable ToTK video. Yes the glitches are fun on their own right, but I wanna see Speedrunner Link in some fights! Spearing the Lynel! Raining fire on the Demon King's Army! Slaying the Scourges! It's slower, but the style is worth consideration.
What an awesome and entertaining run. I beat this boss rush only once, with paraglider, with lots of hearts, with lots of gloom resistance food, and with fairies, and still died so many times. Congratulations man!
"Glitchless" but uses the first glitch at 1:35 where you can jump further than supposed to be. Yes right, since thats not an intended feature, its a glitch indeed.
Knight's weapons have the desperate strength property which doubles damage when you're on your last heart. I need to also gloom 3 hearts so that even if I eat my attack up food or stamina food I'm still on 1 heart because the gloom prevents normal food from healing Link.
It's mostly (from what I've seen) for games played on PC because they can monitor when the game is loading and automatically remove the time. If you look at leaderboards for games like Hollow Knight, the PC leaderboard has load removed time but the console leaderboard doesn't.
13:00 it looks like you spent as much time considering which devices to collect here than it would have taken to just spam collect all of them. Does it really save that much time being deliberate here?
New item text boxes take 2 seconds per item. It might feel like I took a while picking things up, but there were 2 new items that I didn't want to pick up (flame emitter and fan) which would have taken 4 seconds minimum. For reference I took ~5 seconds to pick up everything I needed which includes the 2 second portable pot text box that's required.
Ok, the wall grab I agree with you. But the warping back is something I could see "fixed" in the future, either by updating the "last ground touched" by the object you are standing (wich is hard) or hardcoding one "touch ground" event after a cut scene (which is easy). Any way, this is a critique to the criteria of the category. The run was amazing!
@@feyh yeah never talked to you in a bad manner, they are definitely things that look "glitchey". The "last ground touched" thing has a problem where if changed, the game is able to put you in a place you never even visited in the first place. Maybe an "exploitless" category could exclude what you're talking about
Nintendo has actually done a really good job with patching these glitches. In BotW, I felt like there were so many glitches that I used so often that it felt like game mechanics. But seriously, I feel like the devs don't get enough credit for how many glitches they've patched out so fast. What I'm trying to say though is that it feels like when a glitch is found in this game that's most likely going to be the only glitch in the entire patch
The only thing I hope they never fix is the glitch where you can battle 3 lynels at the same time down into the underground arena That thing is always fun to do
"Ideally I'd pick up guaranteed backup food. But yeah, I won't die, it's fine" he says right before diving down the chasm towards the final boss with 1/4 heart and 3 weapons.
Not just the final boss, but 7 bosses and a lynel preceding it as well.
He's the real Link.
With no paraglider*
I love the idea that this is the canon events in the TotK universe. Link wakes up and wastes no time in defeating Ganondorf. He has no idea about anything else that has happened and just kicks ass
Honestly, I could totally see him being like "New asshole in town? Let me put a stop to that."
reminds me of a fan-story crossover where Link and many other characters are in a Time Loop, re-doing EVERYTHING over and over with no end in sight...
so Link got bored and decided to beat EVERY boss with just Branches or Deku Sticks!
Link?
i like these glitchless runs better than 1.0.0, going through hyrule castle and bosses is cool to see
I love the any% but I’m sooo hyped to be seeing glitchless now too!!!
the damageless bossrush is insane
This is so much cooler than 1.0 any% imo
Yeah, when I saw that notification I was like oh really this is not the cool stuff... But really that run looks incredibly cool and also way harder that regular any%
With how many glitches and exploits totk has, I feel like glitchless is just much cooler to watch.
True
Agree. Much more skill with all the recourses stuff to kill the bosses.
isn’t it weird how half the speedrunning community is always putting down the other half (any% vs gltichless), like just enjoy the run, enjoy the streamer, enjoy the game, shut up about which is better because majority of the time the speedrunner also does the other type
I think this is way more entertaining to watch cuz you actually have to fight all the bosses, very great run
I'd never thought of cancelling fall damage by grabbing onto a wall...such a cool tech!
Thisˆ
Ikr. Cart shield was the high light of this run
So happy to finally find a glitchless run! The routing and risk/reward is so interesting
the way demon dragon flies, this footage made it look like ganon saved link more times than the light dragon lol
I was actually trying to figure out a plausible route for this. This is amazing.
I can’t wait for the explanation vid. This run was so fun to watch!
Damn, this is a fun run to watch. Excited to see how this continues to progress!
20:56 "It's a warm up run"
*Gets WR *
the top runner experience
I was wondering why he was taking gloom damage. It's so that he can eat the attack food and remain at 1 heart, that so big brain
Oh YES! This is what I was waiting on. So fun to see this glitchless! 🙌

That was really impressive. The damageless boss rush and Colgera with no paraglider
Wow I'm surprised at how much I enjoy glitchless/restricted as a spectator. Very cool route
I think sub-hour glitchless is right around the corner. Can’t wait!
I might have to try this. I mean, I'll fail, but I might have to try it. Subbed so I don't miss the route explanation! This run is incredible.
This was much more impressive than glitched any% !
The army and bosses.. that would take me years.. 😅
gg!
Killed everything with a quarter of a heart. Oh, the thrill :)
Quite amaze thst the difference is so little between any% and glitchless 😮
Awesome run!! Congrats on the sub 1:10!
This seems like just pure pain. The whole army AND a boss rush of six bosses, each stronger than the last (minus phantom ganon). GG my man.
I'm trying to beat the game going straight to the final boss, and trust me, the annoying parts are only the army(first and last wave) and the gibdo summoned by queen gibgo
I didn't managed to get to phantom Ganon down there(in my best try I ended up killing myself on the fence of the spirit temple boss lol) but I guess some bombs with a X3 savage lynel bow will do the work
with only a quarter of a heart xD
I love the glitch runs too but I think I decided I prefer this. Looks more like playing the game. God gaming. Grats 🎉
Dang that fall onto the wall was so smooth had to go back and look at it a second time
Such a cool run! I hope glitchless catches on
this is the year of player 5
this is really impressive!
This is exactly what i was looking for!
Amazing run!
randomly searched totk speed runs and you just posted this lmaooo good run
i love how he gets a tutorial message in the final boss at 59:01
The image of link leaping into the chasm without his glider, then just grabbing the wall to stop his terminal velocity descent is so funny.
Ganondorf: “How disappointing.”
Link: “I literally met you less than an hour ago.”
Looking forward to learning the run
Sempre achei mais da hora ver speed run sem glitch. Pura habilidade no próprio jogo, é isso que eu gosto.
I Appreciate You And All Your Hardwork In The Game/Series I Loved Since A Kid
The fact you can just go straight to the final boss in this game is so cool
P5 You are insane GG !
Nothing like taking a crap on the toilet, with a stomach ache, and watching Player5
Wow I don't expect the glitchess Speedrun can be that far
When you play the shrine completion sound effect at 2x speed... it should like " It doesn't f*kin matter" da da!
原来这才是player5的真实实力🎉这比1.0版本的速通帅多了
GG love to watch those boss fights with a quarter heart
I do love watching the boss rush ngl
player 5 the GOAT

honestly this is way more impressive als the glitch ones imo
when you use gloom waepons and your on a heart or less, its won't kill you

the mad lad did it
How do you guys figure this stuff out? I never would have come across any of these shortcuts.

player 5 you are god
At last the glitchless run of the latest version!
It's slower, but the style is worth consideration.

crazy insane
This is so impressive I feel like your link is the true link
This Guy is everywhere
"Glitchless" but uses the first glitch at 1:35 where you can jump further than supposed to be. Yes right, since thats not an intended feature, its a glitch indeed.
Jump attacks are supposed to give you more distance. This is not a glitch
The actual wr on any% 1.2.1 is 1h07 so glitch don't save time kappa 😂😂
wow you are legend
They should make a speedrun category “Any% no boss rush skip”
20:06 I love cats! 🐱
GG wahoorat
Nice video Player 5 Recommend me a tutorial to make that jump 1:26
lore accurate link
I wonder how much time speedrunners could save if whistle running was still a thing in totk
wideSNIFFA
GG!
GG!!!!!!!!!!!!
really cool
When doing the demon dragon I find it faster to just shoot the weak points with arrows rather then land on the creature
As a result, they will receive almost no damage at all. All weapons and bows do almost no damage except the Master Sword
@@philiphauthat doesn't seem to be the case with me.
I’d love to see speed run with the 4 “beasts” with glitches.
you mean temples?
The temples?
All dungeons?
sheeesh
cool run also glitchless is a better category
Typically people with less options end up being more creative. That’s how I feel about Nintendo and their hardware limitations lol.
25:15 ここウルトラハンド使えるの知らなかった
GG
I heard theres all kinds of glitches in totk 1.2.1 could you do it with glitches i want to learn after someone accidently updating the game lol
Cool
How did the castle suddenly transition to floating castle without triggering the quest?
Can you explain why you needed to take gloom damage and then survive on 1/4 heart?
Knight's weapons have the desperate strength property which doubles damage when you're on your last heart. I need to also gloom 3 hearts so that even if I eat my attack up food or stamina food I'm still on 1 heart because the gloom prevents normal food from healing Link.
@@Player5SR gotcha, thanks!
I just got the butt end of this Load Remove Time conversation. How does that work in other games?
It's mostly (from what I've seen) for games played on PC because they can monitor when the game is loading and automatically remove the time. If you look at leaderboards for games like Hollow Knight, the PC leaderboard has load removed time but the console leaderboard doesn't.

How come warping back in the purah pad and grabing a wall on the castle while free falling from the sky be considered glitchless?
Because those are nintended!
That's taking advantage of an intended game mechanic, so it's an exploit, not a glitch.
the wall grab is an in game mechanic

your beard is really cool. :)
How do I attack midair like that at 12:15
So this is played on a PC? Can I download the game on a macbook pro? I do have the game for the switch.
This is played on a nintendo switch. Emulators exist but aren't allowed for speedruns of TotK.
