I bought the book while in the airport from India to Dubai.Tried the exercise of asking for manifestation of something wonderful in 48 hours. Was totally surprised when I was upgraded to business class out of the blue. I tried it again yesterday and today my manager gave me a gift voucher in recognition of my work.

You are a joy, Michael. Clearly you put your guests at ease which brings out their best. I know that you couldn't do what you do without Jessica doing what she does. Blessings to both of you. Keep up the good work.

    Top 3 Takeaways
    1. Focus on "Possibility" every single day. Look at the world through the possibility lens!
    2. Get on the Joy & Gratitude channel/frequency daily! (Be a gratitude detective and search for things to be grateful for daily)
    3. Remember: You dominant thoughts and expectations literally animate your world. (As proven by quantum physics)

I'm not a practicing religious person, but there are references to this in the bible. In Mark:
    King James Bible
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The practice of gratitude daily does give you a boost of happiness, but it becomes less effective long-term. As far as luck is concerned, it hasn't worked for me yet. I know some self-help authors say it the most important thing to do every single day.

I have read Pam Grout's book 'Thank and Grow Rich'. On the surface of things it's win win and simplicity all the way...what is there to question? (Any naysayers are easily dismissed with the figurative sweep of Pam's hand). The lack of acknowledgement for the contextual complexity, the intricate dynamics of life, is what, for me, creates a fundamental flaw in the basic tenet of the book. (There are minor flaws such as failing to be up to date on the truth of Sai Baba.) A lot of the chapters don't actually relate to gratitude per se but to other phenomena, which are not actually pertinent to the gratitude theme but which are used to fill in the associative dots without any real substantiation..
Where's the statistical back up for the book? What percentage of people, out of the number of books sold, have had success? How many haven't? Those statistics would embody a representation created by complexity. The book is simple enough....however the readership comprises a dynamic complexity.
I'm sorry to sound cynical...but at this point in time, the bigger story for the self help is probably contained in Steve Salerno's book 'SHAM' (acronym Self Help and Actualisation Movement). Can I suggest you invite Steve Salermo onto the show?
Pam's life picked up as a result of the SHAM market, to which her books held yet another beacon of hope. How much hope and how much subsequent hopelessness has this movement actually engendered? We need the science, the research, the statistics on SHAM so that we can start to sort things out in a more rational way....which includes the nature of mind. My cynicism at this point might benefit from a scientific perspective. SHAM needs to be brought to task so that we can begin to understand, in real terms, what comprises the wheat and what comprises the worthless chaff...and that, given such a thing as placebo effect and the nature of mind, won't be straightforward. For me, 'Thank and Grow Rich' has drawn the final line in the sand...I've spent thousands of pounds on self help books, always thinking that the next one might hold the key....but it never has. I've lined the pockets of the authors and I've realised that even a book written with the greatest integrity cannot amount to anything other than the author's 'truth'...it is their story, their perspective, their experience of how life works. There must be a percentage of people who've benefited from a book but it seems to me that they are in the minority because life, in all of its dynamic diversity, cannot be pinned down simplistically and succinctly by some 'authority' on the subject. All of this said, somebody I do find worthwhile is Dr Joe Dispenza. His work does seem to be 'the wheat' for a considerable number of people...'though again, the complexity of the individual person is the bigger story.

Jane, perhaps you need to connect with your intuition and heart and bypass your mind. I did that and as I discovered who I am within, I discovered a paradigm shift in my perception of reality. May you be blessed!
