I played against tank reksai recently as swain. We had a fight that lasted from 7mins to 12 mins just the two of us infinitly hitting eachother

I’ve been playing only reksai top for a few months now and this is definitely the strongest she’s been in that time. If you use her against a large portion of toplaners she will be very effective right now which is wild to say because it used to be vice versa. However there are matchups that will make you useless and there are enough of them to make her not a broken pick imo.

Thanks for showcasing crazy builds and champs like this so I know what the hell is going on when I see a Rek'Sai in my lane.
The lack of damage is why most people are going Stridebreaker second. The thing is that her healing scales entirely with health, so you don’t even need to build her as a tank, bruiser items like Stridebreaker, Black Cleaver, and Sundered Sky give just as much health as the tank items. You don’t really have the damage mitigation of a true tank for team fights, your role is more to engage, cc, then buy time using ult and go in and out of the fight to regenerate health, so building more than one or two tank items isn’t really necessary.
you last wayyyy longer with tank items, in my games im able to cc for as long as the match lasts, over n over n over, the enemy team doesnt even focus you cuz of ur sustain and defense

Tip: if you don't need sustain damage you can put some points into e (usually 3 points into q first)
Or you can put points into W for a lot of movement speed, for funzies (i like 2 into w and max it last)
As a true Rek'Sai worshiper and believer I'm happy to see you see her strength.

I've been spamming Mama Rek for couple of days, zooming through Gold/Plat with 80%+ winrate.
It wont be nerfed fast since riot buffed her for top lane 2 patches ago. Its freelo if you play good split and know her limits in skirmishs and team fights.
Just played against her as Volibear. I had no chance, lol. It doesn't help that since she's new to top lane that a lot of people don't know how to play against her.
@Darion350 the best counter matchup is Trundle. He can ignore her and take towers or win the trades with ult. All other top match ups is like, 7 to 3 for her, even the worst ones she has advantages.
And ganks doesn't work since she can just gtfo with the tunnels.

It is broken, but situationally. Definitely not a blind pick, could be countered easy. I went yorick vs her, and at the moment you get 6 the chsmpion becomes irrelevant, conqueror heals more then the dmg she does, only issue is she is very hard to dive when tanky enough.

@@wyze7545 Ww isn't that big of a deal, zac is c4ncer and I've gone against him a few times by now, mundo is easily counterable for me because I'm an aatrox otp. There's other tanks for sure but they aren't as broken as reksai is

@@aarondekker1834 It seems like it should be Fiora favored, the W unburrow is easy to predict and riposte and Rek'Sai is too immobile to kite out the vitals and they do true damage. But Fiora WR vs Rek'Sai is abysmal so far (43%) although the sample size is too small, there haven't been a lot of matches yet.

Sunfire is doing most of the work for damage i bet. 😂 also having played several games of this. don't. not in low elo. you provide a LOT but your waveclear is slow and you are much, much more dependent on your team not being mouthbreathers to exert any sort of real pressure past early mid. you just don't do damage. good old fundamentos will do more for you on average.
I play Zac, and I played against this once and realized the Rek'Sai Zacs better than Zac. I gotta put away the Zac top and bring out ZazZak Zeke Zac instead so I can never be out-Zac'd...
the way she stomps laning phase makes me believe unending despair might be a really good item after sunfire+boots+visage
helps reduce variance in team fights even if opponents are fed. you can't do damage so the most important thing is being able to outlive your team even if you're constantly stuck between 5 enemies. extending a brief window to burst down a squishy target with a fat shield isn't worth not being able to constantly peel. this version of top reksai is nearly the same engage tank she was half a decade ago, it's a selfless build that relies on teammates

Volibear definitely was broken. Now, after his nerfs, he's back to being almost as bad as his old self up top while barely touching his jungle power, which was the whole point of the nerf.
Poppy is a top laner, not a jungler. It's the opposite case for her.

@@Darion350 Because she was designed primarily for top lane, has a passive that barely does anything in jungle but is very prevalent in top lane, and in her champion spotlight that's most of her clips.
She's been way more popular as a jungle in the past few years, but if it was about popularity then Rek'Sai would be a top laner now rather than still a jungle champion who happens to also have a good top lane.
@@shinji136 Rek'Sai is ridiculous top after being buffed, but that wasn't intentional. They're nerfing her as a result.
I'd say that Poppy is both Top and Jungler, similar to Voli, and Jax. If she wasn't a Jungler she wouldn't be viable there, but she's played more in the jungle than top.

It is very hard to compare because rek sai must attack enemies to heal up, while garen must avoid damage. If you efficiently attacked targets and used w you would heal more per second than Garen, but Garen can heal even with no wave or enemy champion so he has some advantages too.
Bit sad that reksai is basically guaranteed to eat a nerf in the next couple pstches, but tbf the sustain is fucking disgusting. Funniest part is shes basically better mundo.
Mundo and reksai are completely different champions with very different playstyles. I don't see the correlation at all
So many toplaners out heal her and it isn't even close. Mundo, Olaf, Warwick, Briar, Trundle, Aatrox, Zac etc. I could keep going but her healing isn't anything special.

I can say 100% for sure you don't play any of these champs just because of what you wrote. Only warwick has healing that can match hers but its dependent on minions and how low he is.

Trundle, Aatrox and Mundo show how laughably low her healing is late-game.
Olaf is situational because he resembles Warwick with his healing at low HP.
Every single one of those characters have easily better in-kit healing than her (exept Olaf because that's situational)

@munchiemunchie5226 late game?? Dude its a lane cheese pick. None of these champions besides warwick and Zac (if you just mindlessly allow him to pick up all globs) can match Reksai. Mundo doesnt heal for shit in lane, he becomes a champ at lvl 11 when he gets rank 2 ultimate. If you struggle with Mundo's """healing""" in lane, then you are doing something very very wrong. Keep in mind this is also out of combat healing. Vs Zac, WW you can buy executioners that also denies their healing while Reksai has a much easier time waiting out that 3 second timer after burrow and getting full usage of her heal. Aatrox healing in lane is pathetic compared to Reksai. Briar healing is okayish, definitely not even close to Reksai, and I've seen Drututt play Briar a lot so I know how much healing she has. Also keep in mind how stupidly low Reksai's burrow cd is in comparison. Olaf hardly has any out of combat healing unless he buys a vamp. Trundle's out of combat healing is kinda whatever in lane too. You can reliably do damage to them in short trades and then look for a future all-in. It's very hard to apply that same strat to Reksai. So no, most of the champs you mentioned are not even close to Reksai in terms of healing.
Give it time and people will figure out that to beat this reksai, and that is you play all in and bully champs. You play sustain and take short trades? She wants that and will love you. You freeze the wave at your tower as a darius, irelia, anyone that threatens to kill, rek won't be able to easily rely on that healing. Look at g2. When facing a ksante who basically did the short trade and retreat, he lost. When g2 rek top faced an aatrox? They lost hard, rek was basically just an alistar that dealt more damage.
I reealised this champ was broken yesterday when i was playing zed and I had LDR eclipse profane and she had thornmail sunfire...I did full combo 2 times then ulted and did another full combo and her hp was like 20% then did the borrow thing and healed to like 50% hp again or some bullshit
You had no grevious wounds, only had one lethality item and she built full armour. What did you expect lmfao?

@@AbdoHany9 giantslayer won’t do much unless your opponent stacks hp. Thornmail only adds 350 hp, one of the LOWEST hp stat in tank items. In the ones you listed the only really significant item in terms of hp is sunfire. Ldr, eclipse and your passive work off of target’s max hp and she didn’t even stack that much hp at that point for you to get full potential from your items. And eclipse provides zero armour penetration.
Now lets do the math. If I were to assume Reksai also has plated steelcaps and let’s assume she is lvl 11. She has 225,5 total armour. With LDR’s 35% you lower that to 146,5 total. (Since base and bonus armour are calculated separately.) Minus Profane’s 18 lethality (since it no longer scales with level) and you get 128,5 total armour for Reksai. Which STILL mitigates 57% (MORE than half) of your _entire_ combo damage.
With two combos you essentially dealt _less_ damage to her than the full damage of your one combo. *So with that build and without grevious wounds, you barely did the damage of one and a half combo damage to a unit who has 2440 hp and in combat hp regen.*
Like, with that damage mitigation you might as well deal 170 physical damage per shuriken instead of 397 bro. It’s not Reksai specific. It’s literally your build.
@@AbdoHany9 Now imagine building black cleaver instead of eclipse. *Like, imagine the anti tank item since you complain about a tank here.* Combined with any % armour penetration item, you lower her 225,5 armour to 110 armour with full cleaver stacks. Now subtract the profane’s 18 lethality. 92 armour. She begins to mitigate less than half of your damage, around 47%. Which is 201,6 damage per shuriken as opposed to your 170. (I took the differing bAD values into the consideration.) A whooping 31 damage diff PER shuriken. It almost equals to 300 extra damage from your shurikens alone with three full combos (assuming you landed your R shadow’s shuriken.)
If, on top, you buy ONE serrated dirk, that armour value goes down to 82 armour. Which mitigates around 44% at most compared to YOUR build’s 57%. Which equals to 225,4 damage per shuriken as opposed to 170. Again, I take the differing bAD values into the consideration.
So tldr; the armour reduction becomes THAT significant the lower the armour goes. And your build was dog against armour stackers.

The issue is that if you do this then healing is just worthless. Riot should actually introduce actives similar to ignite on grievous wound items... :)

Rek sai has no dmg after rework... after removing her true dmg from her e it does less dmg than an aa. It feels like the percentage dmg isnt working... Riot wanted her do be more assassin like but she has no dmg at all and is worse than ever vs tanks.
Her burst dmg tool should be her e, it has round about 8s cd in mid game and does 100% of your ad + 14% (max lvl e) of your targets max health at max fury.
That means on a target with 4000 HP it does on top on your aa dmg, 560 dmg (14% of 4000), but cause its all ad dmg we have to assume a target with 4k life has around 200 armor which means a dmg reduction of 66,66% if we take this into our calculation we get a bonus dmg of 196 (calculated with 65% dmg reduction for simple math)
so we can do 200 bonus dmg on tanks every 8s... maybe u can proc it with the right timing and max fury at the start two times in a normal fight which does nothing to tanks with 4k hp

Bro, this ain't broke. Rek' Sai literally does no damage, only has CC on W and has an ult that does more damage with lost life. Just do an anti heal and that's it. The problem is that Riot always nerf this champion to the ground! She was a Bruiser, a Assassin, and now she is a tank. But they will probably nerf that style of gameplay and make the champion unplayable again.
I love her design and always wanted her to be a Bruiser, but Riot always destroy those real monster champions. In the end, this company will say that no one plays monster champions to not make more, when in fact they just makes them unplayable.

Sure, she doesn't do so much damage, but she whittles you down and sustains through pretty much everything.
When she gets her fury bar full she can heal 450 at lvl 9 under 5 seconds she has a dash from tunnels great burst dmg and can come back to Lane so fast with her tunnels. She has everything you would Want. I have only played against it 3 times but from my experience she is overtuned and i guess the 54% wr is cosmetic.
