The Genre is called UK Garage .. some call it 2 Step. It has the perfect tempo. It might not be very common to hear beats like this in US Clubs... but in Europe? Around 2000 every good Rave in Germany had a Garage floor and this type of music was playing at every club here. 😉😁

I saw them in Atlanta last week and it was LIT!! Harvey was my first bias, then Coco snatched me, then Jurin settled it all. BUT!! Live stage perception:Maya stood out with unexpected stage presence! I too feel they make me a tad younger, and I also give more allowances to things in their music and MVs that I ordinarily might not care for immediately. I think it's their special flavor(which I love)that colors the things...highly recommend acupuncture, btw...
I'm definitely a heathen but XG makes want to be less of one. This is my interpretation of the storyline so far; XG was done taking over this planet, planning to leave into space, getting ready to fly out into space and those avatars is not animated CGI but their true form of alien wolfs hanging out in the planet's gravity defying water where their spaceship is hiding. The video is them having one last spa day and nature walk before leaving and Hinata is crying that she's going to miss that place. Now you know that you know, check out where the beat is sampled from - Prism by M-flo. It's just as trippy.
I so appreciate the artistic esthetic. The color story is so beautiful too. The song it so awesome too. If I didn't know their lure then yeah totally confusing. If this video was with a BP song it wouldn't work.
hahaha i felt the same way aobut the vid and the crazy figures vs OG XG but i allow them the flexibility to be creative and flow any way they want cause i want them to express themselves fully and i'll take it with a smile on my face

But even though that's the case, the club scene remains fairly strong amongst Americans (within general age brackets mostly). We go to the club, we hear great music, we dance and enjoy life. Easy math.

I think it's more about the idea that the American "club" scene and its corresponding music is very different from the club scene wherever you are. Perhaps this is also a clue into why many Americans veer away from the categories you mentioned. Just a theory, but I think that makes the most sense.
XG is definitely the type of group that can pull off so many different concepts. I’m just confused by the constant switching of themes so this song caught me off-guard 🤣 I’m personally more a fan of the bad bitch vibes like Girl Gang and Woke Up. But thanks for giving these girls a view and giving your thoughts! I truly felt like with the speed up (especially on the pre-chorus) and the visuals, I truly did need to take a break and pause because it was really overstimulating 😅😅
I think that XG gets away with so much storytelling because of their wolf alien theme. Since they've fully committed to it most people are cool with it because they're not selling us their looks, but every aspect of who they are as artists.
The storyline is "when intergalactic alien wolves take a spa day."
