5:04 I laughed when Fish was barking and singing at Chip in the background 😆
I knew the birds have air sacks but I had no idea there were 9 (!) of them. 😮

I have a Honeywell air purifier and it works very well cleaning the air. Fish and Chip are adorable as usual 😊

Wonderful video mate. The wife and I were talking about this the other day, we were about the threats but clueless as to their unique biology. Very interesting !

I follow all the rules with keeping products out of the air for my parrots. However, its wildfire season on the american west coast, and yesterday I was watching the hummingbirds and chickadees outside wondering how wild birds take ot every year.

It varies! Some don’t make it! Others have the option to flee from problem areas which ours at home can’t!

@@TheParrotTeacher I mean where the thick smoke is not just at the fire site. It is yearly that we have wildfire smoke thick in the area. So much so that our local schools are doing half days and could have cancelations when smoke particulate index is over a certain number. Every year the same hummingbirds and chickadees I feed on my porch continue through fire season. I can barely breathe outside my house right now and I don't have asthma or anything. But those little birds and the neighborhood flock of doves and blue scrubs just keep on keeping on.

Great vid as usual. As someone who's never owned a bird, I'm curious as to what you do with them when you're on holiday? Or are you limited to stay-cations?

We just went through this. We brought him to the place we got him and boarded him there. It was only $10 a day. Most vets and pet stores do boarding but be cautious of pet stores. We have a wonderful one that takes excellent care of their birds but places like the big chain pet stores are notoriously bad

We don’t go on holiday ourselves for the very reason they require so much effort!
I did do a video on what to do when you go on vacation though!

@@frostella6640 I'll keep that option in mind. I aspire to own a bird (or birds) but also like to go away sometimes. I hope it's feasible to do both!
