It finds third party midi drum grooves like GrooveMonkey and works when you hit the play buttons on the grooves, but when you drag the groove down, it's a completely different one! Dragging only seems to work correctly with the Slate grooves.
I love it when a company releases its groundbreaking AI announcement and the comment section is full of requests to fix the features they ignored whilst fiddling with AI. Adding a bit of machine learning to enhance a minor function does not bring any value to SSD, but it will make it cost more.
How do you sync the tempo to your audio? None of the grooves match up to my audio and I don't see anywhere to sync tempo or even change it in the sampler.
The tempo syncs to whatever the DAW is set at. Here is the link to start a support ticket for Steven Slate Drums: stevenslatedrums.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Does this drop thing work for everyone? It caused an error message for me in Cubase. Neither drop nor browse worked with audio files. I dragged the file over to the drop-field but when I released it the file still didn't appear in the drop-field, then the error message appeared and I had to restart the DAW. Edit: It seems that the mp3 format is the problem, it allows browsing wav format. Drag n drop still doesn't work but this is probably due to other setting, because this function generally doesn't work for me in Cubase.
@@edwardbrands3271 Hey Ed! Two things: 1. The browsing works for me with wav files. Maybe it works somehow with mp3 too but I haven't tried that since the previous failure. 2. Regarding drag n drop: if you turn off the 'always on top' function (right click) on the opened SSD and you are not choosing File -> Import -> Audio File but simply open the folder that contains the wav, then you will be able to drag it to the SSD. It works 100%. (Win10)
It’s not shown in the video. AI part is morphing ability. It uses neural network to progressively morph any groove to the sequence you put in the step sequencer.
@@atenvilleit's less easy than the tutorial. Gets versions of it installed grooves. Set to Mono to follow IIRC. Good free improvement but not a god particle
Now that video saved me a ton of trial and error work....thank you!
Very impressive! Thanks for the great, free update.
Need to make it so when you don't start on the one it plays the groove from the appropriate beat in the bar not always on the down of 1.
It does. It’s synced to the DAW timeline
Oh yeah that's great. Hell, this is definitely going to help with my "obvious guitarist-written drum parts" issue hahahahahaha
Been waiting for this!
I cannot wait to play with this!
the first beat was like "AH PUH TUH AH PA TUH"
Hi, love SSD 5.5, but your 3/4 signature inside is broken: it deflects 3 Bars of 4 instead of 4 Bars of 3....

What if you have a stereo file of a complete song. Will it reproduce the drum line from the song so you can start fresh with seperate drums?
nothing plays when i drop in audio...
It never syncs up with my tracks. I record to a metronome, btw.
Same here. I got it to sync to one track but I'm confused as to how to actually use this.

@@80s_kid thanks
I tried to install ssd5 but I didn't got the dialog for iLok license and I don't have one listed but Ive paid a license ! Can you help me?
ilok is a pain. Go back to your intial files, start again on rescanning VSTs (reaper user). S.t the pathway in just undiscovered
Don't see many 3/4 beats
Doesn't appear to match 3rd party grooves very well at all.
SSD5 uses GM Standard MIDI mapping. But hit up support if you need help.
Are you serious with this AI BS? I guess I'm done with you
