Oh boy, i always browsed the high seas, then netflix came and i started paying for that for the first time, the moment everyone created their damn streaming service the only solution was coming back to the high seas an now they have the "seas" flix app with everything from every place in a decentralized network, great job, because there's simply no way i'm coming back.
How about giving me a $3.00 discount per month for allowing ads?
Exactly! I would have preferred a fair price increase statement from Amazon, and then a marketing campaign that applies a $3.00 a month discount for people that "subscribe" 😅the ads option. They would have got the same result from the point of view of the money, but a far better result from the point of view of the image.
Dude, there's no way in hell they couldn't make money if it was 1$, all the ads in a year wouldn't pay 0.5$, it's generally 0.002$ per ad, way less than half a cent.
But that’s exactly what they did.

.. failed logic. The world has never worked like that. You're not free to do anything you want went paying rent for a house/apartment, nor do you have any ownership over a hotel room when you pay for staying there. If I pay to watch a movie at a cinema, I have no ownership over anything and they still show ads. When I pay out the nose to go to a disney park, I gain ownership/rights over nothing.
Been saying it for years. Our problems ALWAYS build down to the responsibility of the people. The more people put up with the worse thing become. People want to much comfort without taking responsibility for the misery they are subjecting each other to. ALWAYS.
I remember when cable came out and people said “yeah, you pay for it - but there won’t be any commercials.” I’m in the Philippines now and watch satellite tv. There are local ads on local stations. The cable stations (Hits, HGTV, CNN and others) have commercials for their own network during the usual commercial time. Some stations run the program though with fewer commercials and finish in less than the 30 minute time. Some auto racing channels (I don’t watch “stick or ball”) don’t have commercials - they just keep the camera on the track, with no commentary for 2 and a half minutes.

I live in Kenya and the new proposed finance bill has a subscription (yearly tax) just for owning a car. Unbelievable!
Kenya is dependent on financial aid from the World Bank/IMF, and is thus beholden to the globalist agencies that are united in an anti-human agenda. The globalists believe that there are too many people in the world and that our standard of living needs to be severely lowered. The globalists invented the climate panic and the carbon dioxide scare because to them the ends justify the means. Here in the UK, we've had that since 1888! It's known as Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), or commonly called road tax. There are taxes for everything here in Britain. We even have a massive one for buying your home, called Stamp Duty, an average of 13.5%!!! So if you better yourself in life, and move 'up' to a nicer home, the government takes 13.5% of the purchase price...for nothing at all, just a tax for no reason.

My rule #1 is: If I have to go out of my way to block an ad (because most don't reach me already anyway... pihole etc.) I make sure to remember the product and I will NEVER buy it. I don't care if it is a good product. I don't care if it is cheaper than the competition. It annoyed me and it will not make a profit that way. This is what really hurts the ad companies and the ppl that pay for the ads: don't buy their crap! See something in a store? Check your memory: Do I remember an ad for that? Yes? Grab something else. If these companies spend millions on ads and then notice:"well... our revenue hasn't really changed with that 3 million ad campaign..." they will think twice about doing it again. And money not spent for ads, is money you don't have to pay when buying a product.
Blocking the ads is just step 1. The ad companies will try harder though and the "best ad company" will be the one that most efficiently gets around blockers and finds new ways to "inform" costumers. The real way to stop this from happening is to boycott stuff that is being advertised for. Ads don't work? No money is spent on them and the "annoy the hell out of you ads"-company will quietly die alone.

If the government prioritizes profit above all else, then it will be the same as capitalism - except maybe personal taxes could be lower since they already have all the corporate profit. But, in a democratic country, the government is _supposed_ to do what the people want, so it might accept lower profits to pay living wages or combat climate change. In authoritarian governments, it's really up to whatever the leader wants, and can be - usually is - not good for the people (think North Korea, USSR, etc).
In Socialism, the people/workers own everything. The profits return to the people, and the people choose the priorities. The government is not involved. The people could choose less profits in exchange to pay better wages, or offer better benefits, or lower retail prices.
It's like you said, centralization of power is bad. In capitalism, the power is centralized in a small group of "owners". Those owners use their wealth to influence the government to prevent change to the system.
In Communism, it's centralized in the government, which can be good or bad.
In Socialism, the power is spread amongst all the workers. This is good, but people want power, so real socialism is rare because the greedy often short circuit the system during establishment.
Honestly, any system that prioritizes profit over *everything* else (worker health, product quality, community wellbeing, environmental concerns, etc.) is a failure. Capitalism is a failure by this measure. The only reason it is not "so bad" is that governments force business to do what the people want via regulation.
You have to make a law where you can opt out of your bank selling your information
I think that's already the case?
I opted to the Limited Sharing option of the Data Sharing/Privacy Settings for American Express, Capital One, Chase Bank, Citi Bank, Discover, and US Bank.
I think by law they are obligated to provide you with a privacy policy telling you what they do with your information and by law they must allow you to opt out of sharing with third parties.
Banks do things that trouble me more than selling my data. For instance, closing the account of a patron because they have a political disagreement with the patron which is unrelated to the bank.
I remember in the 80s when cable TV came, and there were no commercials except for local stations that were cable casted. That changed real quick.
This is getting beyond ridiculous - too many people just accepting it is the problem.
Thanks Louis! The loud TV screen advertising shit at the gas pump REALLY piss me off too. It's EVERYWHERE!
When they do that, I tell myself I don't need a drink anymore. Doing that costs them sales.
Are you serious? Where is that?
@@macethorns1168 Seen it in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma. It 's gotten to where if the price is the same, I'm going to the station without ad screens. I ignore them and turn my back otherwise.
You might have to experiment with your pump display, because they might not all be alike, but you can hold down the second button down on the right side and it mutes it! It's not labeled, so next time I'm at the pump I'll write MUTE with a sharpie. I got sick of listening to "cheddar news".
@@watcherwatchmen7785 Hey thanks! ❤
Just don't do business with the people that advertise with Amazon. Even go as far as letting that company know why you won't be doing business with them.
BINGO ..... 👍👍
Need someone to publish a list ... because everyone here has cancelled prime and no longer see the ads (or rather never saw them because we were out before the first add showed)
I had Prime for years and was always quite happy with what I got for my money. Especially when it came to the shopping/shipping side of things. Now I can't speak for other regions, but here in 🇨🇦, the quality of Amazon product, shipping, sales, reviews, and video fell off a cliff. So much so that I cancelled my Prime back in January and genuinely haven't missed it in the slightest.
Things are getting crazier!!
I'm deleting the subscription right now. Service was shit already and now is straight up a scam
There's nothing on Amazon streaming that I want that's not on fmovies.
I made a rule for myself. When I see an ad I´m not buying stuff from this company. Thank you for your videos.
My rule for the past 10 or 15 years has been if a company is a corporate naming rights john (as in the buying side of the world's oldest profession) I do my best to not buy their stuff, even if they do not continue the contract (e.g., Tostitos [and by extension frito lay & pepsi] when they became that for the fiesta bowl). I will eat the chips, but I will not pay for them. It is tougher to do now than when I started, but I do what I can. Same for 'official widget' of some organization.
I will add your rule to my list. Thank you.
That's been my rule my whole life, 😂 ads don't make me want to buy something. I've never been influenced to buy something.
Make sure and contact the company and tell them that. I do.
I also stop watching videos with paid promotional content.
@@jupiterthree5228 thats what you believe. have you been influenced or not is a different story.
Drove down hall road yesterday and there was a god damn ad on the back and side of a truck. They put a digital screen for ads on the damn thing. I cant escape!
Idiocracy!
I block all ads on everything I do. I hate ads.
If it has ads on a paid subscription, cancel that shit immediately.
Just like cable TV, slowly became just like the thing it was supposedly better than.

Louis, this is the Economy 4.0 - invented by Klaus Schwab, die founder of the WEF. People should simply accept the fact, they own nothing. Not even their attention or time. Everything belongs to the multinational corporates, who make the law today, since lawmakers can make money from them. In Switzerland, we have one of the worst consumer protection laws. Our corporates and even health insurance companies can make their own laws, while people believer, they would live in a real democracy - just because the can select (note to subtle difference to the term «elect» their politicians and can vote about a new fountain, or traffic circle. It is all about lobbyism. bribery and money. This is the reason western civilization will soon suffer the same fate, as ancient Romans did.
Poor Amazon only had a net income of 30.4 billion I last year. They had no choice but to gouge their customers out of more money
Bezos yacht burns a lotta fuel so...ya know. Pony up.
Its crazy how little people value their brains and their time. Which is what you lose when you accept ads... 🤷
Netflix doing the same kinda. They're ditching their one service forcing you to either downgrade to with ads or upgrade and pay more
I said this at the very start of the streaming boom.
It would absolutely saturate the market so much that people would turn back to cable. There's dozens of dozens of streaming platforms now. At ~$10-$15 a service, this can add up to hundreds.
Absolutely asinine.
i bet if people started cancelling their prime subscriptions in mass amazon might reconsider that scheme.
Sure, and if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's ass when it hopped.
@@mallninja9805 and that kind of mentality is exactly what corpos like amazon count on and why they are able to walk all over people like you.
Nah, it's not enough to warrent. Amazon TV Prime is probably a small fraction of Amazon Prime as a whole. Just like Amazon Music Prime, etc is.
im gonna be frank here you guys can try to justify or excuse it or dismiss it however you like. but your not gonna be able to convince me some form of pushback isnt needed or warranted here.
@@GalacticYeeter tbf, the only type of pushback here is if Amazon would get a fine for atleast half their yearly income ever since Prime TV or even better - Prime as a whole started. That's really the only solution to revoke this.
But, let's be honest here, what Amazon, Discovery+, and a few others are doing with ad-payed tier is no different than Cable TV.
Cancelled as soon as they announced it.
You give an inch, they take a mile.

Any item that I see in a yt ad I automatically consider a scam and I will not buy anything from it.
Yep. Plus advertising is expensive, so the prices go up. We are not only forced to watch these shitty ads, but if you buy the thing, you paid them to shove the ads down your throat.

There are only two people who can pull of sunglasses indoors. mid 2000s Scott Storch. and me.

After the sketchy shite I've seen ads for on here, no way am I buying anything.
@@marckyle5895 on youtube all the ads I ever see when my block is off is some super creepy or sketchy shit. I dont think I could legally or safely buy anything from their ads lol. At the very least you are getting put on a list trying to buy from these ads XD.

If you buy it but don't own it, then piracy is not theft.
I protested the change by cancelling my prime subscription... I've also reduced the amount that I use the site entirely.
I only use Amazon for stuff I can't get locally.
Media should be subscription with no ads OR free with ads, NOT both.
But think of the capitalists!! How will the billionaires survive if they don't scam every possible nickel out of the wage slaves pockets???
I am glad to see a rise is free to watch services with just ads. If I am going to be ok with watching an ad the service damn well better be free. And if I am paying it better be ad free!
Piracy is legitimate, Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Man, it is unbelievable what companies are doing
This is why you'll never get companies to back off on ads. The only solution you're ever going to find is blocking it on your end, because it's always going to be worth it to the company to push ads, and you'll never get enough pushback on the user end.
I wrote to the customer support of Amazon, that if policy doesn’t change, that it will make it public enemy number 1 in two month.
-That was one month ago.
You thought customer support actually cares what you think about their policies. That's very optimistic of you.
