Prince once said: "When I make a song and put it out there, and you like it, it is no longer my song it belongs to you". Now if white country music fans and white country music artists are afraid that some R & B or even pop artists will fail in their attempt to make great country music as they see it, there may be a basis for that. But if they raise that argument to say "Country music is OUR music, not THEIRS (non white country music artists or nonwhite country music fans), then I must call BS on that. 1) the very roots of country music stems from the influence of historical old negroe spirituals and african based instruments such as the ancestor of the banjo, the banjar- look it up and prove me wrong! 2) As Prince said- people listen too and gravitate towards whatever type of music they enjoy. And NO ONE exclusively owns any specific genre of music. Hell- rap and hip hop was created in the black community. But who was it that made it the most widely sought after genre of music on earth? White people.
They didn't. Not entirely. Country music is a mix of black music -- country blues, string bands, gospel -- and European folk, labor, and traditional mountain music. It’s a crap song that simply isn’t country music. It’s clearly an R&B track with a cowboy hat. It’s a deeply cynical ploy by Beyoncé to play a race card and fish for an award by turning up. Clearly this comes from the Dixie Chicks collab a few years ago. This will backfire for sure. Country music has a heritage and making it into a political race issue isn’t going to help anything.
As usual everything is about Race. It's POP with country vibes. It's NOT country music. Beyonce is a POP artist through and through. The problem is Beyonce and her elitist attitude and her annoying fans.
It's astounding how little most Americans know about the history of "country" music. They don't even know that almost every major country star since the start of country music learned from, imitated, and idolized black musicians. I'm talking about Jimmie Rodgers, the Carter Family, Uncle Dave Macon, Doc Boggs, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and on and on and on.
This is exactly why she chose to release country music. It doesn't belong to any particular type of people. If Taylor Swift can go from country to pop, Beyonce can do country. Folks complaining are just haters.
So if she believes that, she needs to agree to the following: Rap is too black. K Pop is too Korean. Corridos are too Mexican. Ragas are too Indian. All these styles popped up where they did for a reason (yes, even K pop) and can often be linked to experience and history unique to those societies.
Bottom line Beyonce isn't a country artist. She's made a country album. Im surprised that country music is even brought up because it has changed so drastically. But Beyonce singing country music is strange in itself. I seriously can't hear a drawl or an authentic country sound come from her without her adding some pop or hip hop elements to it. She should just release it and be done with it. We all know her fans treat her like a messiah. And the album will do very well and it'll win a grammy for being groundbreaking. She always wins a Grammy. You're gonna hear the phrase "first black female" A LOT.
Nothing at all was said about the color of her skin or racism. It was about her music. She doesn’t do country music. She didn’t advertise to the world she was putting out a country song. Beyounce is far from being famous for country music. Stop with the racist crap.
She did "advertise" that she was doing a country album. I think it's possible that folks at a small country station might not have known that. The Texas Hold 'Em song sounds more like country to me than 85 percent of the pop with a twang and maybe a steel guitar that gets passed off as country these days.

Would they also want it played on a opera station or a Indian radio station 🤔
They gonna be hearing Beyonce in every Trailer Park in America now🤠🤠🤠
its country music it should be played on country radio station
It's astounding how little most Americans know about the history of "country" music. They don't even know that almost every major country star since the start of country music learned from, imitated, and idolized black musicians. I'm talking about Jimmie Rodgers, the Carter Family, Uncle Dave Macon, Doc Boggs, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and on and on and on.
why is it astounding many of us do not care about country music as a whole.
Poor poor Beyonce.
Lets all cry for her.
A radio station can choose to play music by anyone they like....or not. Too many people playing the racist card these days.
Too many racists giving opinions these days
@@matheus0135 Yeah, but we can't stop you.
Does r & b and rap stations play country music?
but texas hold em is country music not rap song
Yea. They played old town road which included billy ray cryus who is as country as it gets.
It all comes from black people, even country music. Go do your research.
blacks founded country too.
This is exactly why she chose to release country music. It doesn't belong to any particular type of people. If Taylor Swift can go from country to pop, Beyonce can do country. Folks complaining are just haters.
Let their discomfort be your comfort. It tickle me 😂😂
So if she believes that, she needs to agree to the following:
Rap is too black.
K Pop is too Korean.
Corridos are too Mexican.
Ragas are too Indian.
All these styles popped up where they did for a reason (yes, even K pop) and can often be linked to experience and history unique to those societies.
Kpop came from the US hip hop scene. Yall are bugging
@@jessmore9870 Including the lyrics?
@@turtle54797 That's a valid point. I haven't heard the radio version, but I imagine they changed a couple of words for the FCC.
doesn't change the fact that country was founded by blacks
Lol America is figuring out it’s still racist😂 when will we the people learn that country music was BLACK 🤷🏾♀️
So what?
@@Charrison9918Tf you mean so what?
@@Flexed_qtit doesn’t matter who “created” country music. Beyoncé is not a country artist and her songs aren’t country. Race and origin of the genre is irrelevant but everyone has MADE it about race.
@@Charrison9918 I think everyone made it about race because Last time Beyonce sang a country song it was live with another group on stage and people on social media started say "Black people shouldn't sing country" Saying it's appropriating culture. I'll see if I can find that video again. I agree music should be for everyone but you can not say Beyonce cant sing country anyone can sing country. People are forgetting she was raised in Texas.
@@Flexed_qteveryone has to stop with the cultural appropriation. Unless they are mocking the culture, it’s cultural appreciation. All I’m speaking to is that I don’t think Country is Beyoncé’s genre. And that’s not a big deal. She has awesome talent; she’s probably THE best in her genre, but country is just not it. And that’s not a bad thing. I really like the Texas hold song. It’s catchy and I’ve listened to it a lot since it came out but overall it’s not country.
Ok wait , so that means a white artist can win a MOBO if their song is say RnB , yes?
Since when is Houston Texas considered the "heartland " ? Maybe Liverpool is the capitol of England
LOVE this man's accent. Could listen to him all day long.
We invented Country, Rock & Roll , Jazz & the Blues…The low level of education & hijacking of this is pathetic….I’ve had enough…I’m going to take care of this…Save my post..
I sing everything when I'm drunk. It's music you like, what you love. Ìm not surprised. Race bollocks has no end.

The new game of “What is racist today”?
The old game of “Let’s pretend racism doesn’t exist” 💀
OMG here we go again, the race griffters 🤡
Thank you sir
The truth hurts
Let the racist comments begin! Lets get this clear. There are white rappers that have been very successful in the US hip hop/rap scene. I loved Eminem, Iggy Azalea, who is btw a whole white Australian woman. What about Logic, Mac Miller, G Eazy etc. No black radio station was refusing to have them on. 106 and park wasnt saying no to white performers. Stop playing and trying to speak on things you all clearly know nothing about. My cousin is a famous rapper(that everyone despises) and people of all races listen to his music. Music genres dont belong to specific races with the exception of maybe Kpop which is really just a korean version of US hip hop. Cut it out
Do you reckon you could swallow as many chocolate bars as Eminem?
@@pinkandfluffysuperwokeblok9859do you reckon you can stop sleeping with your sister long enough to get a GED?

Thousands of singers don't get played on country radio, so why should she expect to automatically get played?
Not to mention the JayZ and Beyonce comments about white people, and blue collar workers, and other racial stuff.
I don't want Beyonce on country radio.
The other black singers didn't have spouses, or didn't themselves, disparage a whole group of people like they have
She better than the pop singer Taylor shift
I find it funny when white people came over to rap not a black person said one thing as a matter of fact we acknowledge one of your people as one of the top rappers eminem lmao boy you got to love it
Better is just better.Old country is depressing
Just because it has "Texas" in the title doesn't make it Country music. And is "cultural appropriation" a one way street ?
If we're gonna play the Cultural appropriation card then White folks should stop listening too Country Music because you know damn well they didn't invent it.
I wonder if these Hip Hop Radio Stations will play that new Ben Shapiro Rap Song over and over 🤣🤣🤣🤣
who is that
@@drinkwater9891 Look it up
Idk but they played OLD Town Road by lil nas and that's country.....
@@Flexed_qt would you call lil nas a country artist? Like is that how you will introduce him to people?
Why we not talking about black people created the music
Well, because they didn't. Not entirely. Country music is a mix of black music -- country blues, string bands, gospel -- and European folk, labor, and traditional mountain music. But it was white artists that did the mixing back in the day. And black artists weren't invited to the club with some exceptions like Ray Charles and Charlie Pride. But that has been changing for a long time now.
Kane Brown. Jimmy Allen. Mickey Guyton. Breland, Miko Marks. Tracy Chapman's song won the CMA song of the Year. Darius Rucker was the CMA artist of the year. Carolina Chocolate Drops (their banjo player is on these Beyonce songs). Freaking Lionel Richie did Tuskegee -- a country cover album of his hits -- years ago. Lots of others.
But I'd bet that most Beyonce fans who are so upset over this don't know any of those people and have never listened to a country album in their life. I'm sure these UK jokers haven't. I think it's great to "reclaim" the contributions of black people to country, and I sure have no problem with Beyonce -- I like this song more than most "country" that comes out these days. But devolving into "is it white or is it black" has a lot more to do with racial politics than it does with music.
I'm a musician -- certainly not on the same level -- and I can tell you that musicians don't care what anyone's race is as long as they can hang.
@jessmore9870 child, if that is what makes you sleep well at night, u keep up with that info but facts are in, and sorry you're wrong again 😅

Either you can sing country or not doesn't matter what color and Beyonce can't
The song is No.1 on the US Country charts. ITS A COUNTRY SONG PEOPLE!!!
Every white person who sings often better in Beyoncé genre is called out for culture appropriation. Beyoncé should stay out of country. I’m sick of super privileged people playing the race card
If we're gonna tell something not to since a specific genre of songs then white folks should stop listening to Gospel, blues, jazz, Ragtime, Swing, Bebop, Go-Go, Boogie woogie, Delta blues, RockNroll, R&B, Soul music, House music, Punk Rock, Zydeco, Funk, G-Funk, Barbershop music, Rap, Neo-Soul, Horror core, Trap Drill, Disco, Techno, New jack swing, southern Hip-Hop, Bounce music, pop, metal, Miami bass, garage, Hip-Hop. And yest Even Country.
@@Flexed_qt all those genres are fron white peoples. Educated music not straight out from the wild
except whites wont be singers anymore bc they stole from blacks lmaoo. Country was founded by blacks from the south. caucasians will be tied to classical music only lol
Im black and when i play a true country station i dont expect to hear beyone & if its really country, taylor swift etc neither.. They're in another genres both taylor and beyonce. Taylor got in because she had afew country like songs. She just made the greatest country record of all time, there was always going to be hate
It was a MUSIC station, they had the internet they had heard her song. 😂
But is our music, created by black Americans! Tf?
Why is there so much nonsense Beyonce is not a country music singer so why would she want to be on a country music station it's nothing to do with race I hate it that everyone wants to jump on the race issue and Beyonce has lots of money, lots of fans and is hardly black I'm of mixed race, being Anglo Indian and I'm probably as dark as she is why does everything have to be about race there are enough problems in the world
Nigerian music is very black , so what's the problem unless your saying that they are appropriating the music? In which case noboby can play any music not written by their ethnic roots, which is ridiculous
