Hi Ben, I've just started meditating and your guides are brilliant 😊
I use music playlists - usually meditative or relaxing and I seem to vibrate with the sounds & it really gets me to a place which stills my mind.
    Have a great day 😊

I’ve used music on and off for meditation for a while. I really like listening to epic music when I do shadow work. I also like binaural beats, natural sounds, piano and solfeggio. Generally, I haven’t used it in a while, but I agree it’s so beneficial.
Thanks for another brilliant video Ben 💛🙏

Great video, really very much liked your open mindset to the subject, doing so you motivate us to self explore so thank you once again as with many others of your videos
Here is an exercise worth trying for everyone:
Start exploring and search for different kinds of music
Try to find the perfect one for YOUR meditation
Though he perfect track should be:
It should not have any vocals
It should have the carrying Om frequency at base throughout the whole track. And just here and there some little twists, without becoming cheese and toxic.
So when found your perfect track, you basically end up finding the frequency most resonating with you.
Then perform your meditation with a good pair of hi-fi headphones. Put the volume down, really down up to the point you're barely able start hearing and detect any sound.
Try not to listen with your ears being with the headphones though. But imagine your ears are on your throat, on the place where it is supposed to be your Vishuddha chakra. Literally try to catch the barely recognizable frequency via your Vishuddha throat chakra. Since the sound is barely detectable of the volumed down phones your awareness will try to reverse engineering the missing vibrations in your hearing, starting to hallucinate sounds that are not in there. You will literally start to compose sounds you have not heard before.
By training in this way your Vishuddha chakra, there will come a time when it'll become over-energized or over ovulated, this will result in the energy shift from your throat chackra to the next upper 3rd eye chakra Ajna.
Instantly explosion of unimaginable colours and geometric patterns and tunnel will appear.
On a technical side when you energize your throat chakra, but don't exploit it by being both aware of it while in the same time not engaged with it, the energy should have no any choice but to shift upward in your 3rd eye. In other words: the vision is fueled by unexpressed hearing manifestation, or only when you let the hearing in piece the 3rd eye will be fired
    Here is another meditation exercise:
Find YOUR Om meditation track, and by listening to it again with a good pair of hi-fi phones this time let the music be a bit louder, and start chanting OHM.
Try to sync the Om from the music with your own Om from your voice.
In order to produce Om with your voice you should imagine that the Om sound is possible only when your lungs are completely open and your exhalation is the slowest as possible. This will produce the Om sound
Now try to sync your Om with the Om from the track you listening,
    Let both Oms merge
    Close your eyes
And let only the trachea vibration exists in the emptiness of your awareness
Doing so your whole body will disappear. You'll stop to exist as body or mind, you'll experience the cosmic vibration of existence
This post become so big, having doubt anyone will have time to read it

Perfect timing, was just getting ready to sit down to meditate and was wondering if I should use music or not. I have always been very moved by music and its good to know that there is pros in addition to cons. I think I will lean towards using music during the week and try on the weekends (when it tends to be more quiet) to not use music.

I'm born deaf, so I'm unsure if I should. Unlike you, I don't know the real sounds cuz the sounds outside of me are radio signals. Funny thing is that I listen to those weird sounds at my right ear without hearing any external sound. Thanks to that I have almost heightened touch sensation.

I started off meditations always with music. Now I simply listen to a mantra as I'm getting ready to start, and then I go into the silence. As someone who LOVES music and I'm always looking for new divine music especially from India, it's great to listen to in general. I'll even dance to it, but if constantly used in meditation...it doesn't feel like I'm meditating anymore. I'm just sitting and listening to music. I'm actually gonna try starting them with music for maybe 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm constantly stimulating a sense. We have to move beyond that. I might do some weightlifting with meditation music because it's about lifting with love, not with brute strength.

I have exactly the cue for time issue with my fav background video... I even posted a request for an updated version. I'll have to learn how to make my own.
A new thing I decided to try is to go silent and focus on listening to the frequency sound ringing in my mind/ears/zen zone...??? And to also add feeling the frequency as well as listening. It seems so far to increase my intention to stay focused.

Thanks very interesting! The next thing to ask is, what kind of music? I am thinking we want to avoid music with words, because it would stimulate our thinking. There is a lot of different kinds of electronic music that have interesting effects, I guess we should experiment.

    • @bensmithreal
      @bensmithreal  3 месяца назад

I agree, experimentation is key. I’d recommend generic meditative music, such as Buddhist flutes, Tibetan bowls, the sounds of nature; things like this are a good place to start.

its different for evryone I would say , I am medium and when I wanted to have strong bond with one diety , one women took of all blockades it was spell I guess , I still meditate and connecting with them few hours each day , I recomend to meditate with music for all chakras then realise in witch one you should work more etc , also different chakras getting blocked from many things , to avoid it just leave in peace and remove negativity it might be long process but trust me once your blockades are off you will feel so different , so light its just amazing (:

hmm... lyrics seem like an easy way to lose focus. This is why I usually prefer music that's calm and sometimes melancholic or nostalgic. Perhaps I could go for something more uplifting, but sometimes it feels kinda weird. Then again, I'm not in the habit of daily meditation - I just do it when I feel like it.
Almost began going off on a tangent there haha

  • @huyholyfire
    @huyholyfire 3 месяца назад

For me meditate with music is worst idea ever. Because it become "Echo" music thought in mind to easy distract you when you tried meditation without music in the background. So IMO, Meditate in silent environment is the best option, or at least in "nature" environent, it will help you focus easy more than listen music while meditation.

    • @uwebockwurst9613

What helles me with that is, to make use of contrast. If they are noisy you are quite, the louder they are, the quiter you get.
Trees are very good at it, they dont do anything 😅.

It was suggested to me that I should focus on the sounds in my ears, to make friends with it while meditating. I’ve tried many times but only once did the sounds actually go away completely. I didn’t hear them for hours after that meditation, it was so peaceful and so sad when they came back.

Same problem here, my whole life it is bothering me

    • @p14men
      @p14men 3 месяца назад

I've had periods with tinnitus, due to my negligence
      And that never bothered me
1st step is to understand the phenomenon
Forget about the rigid science and think about the example with a pressure cooker.
The ringing sound is the higher energetic pressure in your head, which on the subtle energetic level could be described as unbalanced chakras. In a sense that ringing sound is a good sign that you have accumulated pretty much energy, but your upper chakras are cluttered, and the energy cannot pass.
The way to fix this is pretty simple:
When you hear the ringing, don't fight, don't resist, don't try to get the ringing apart from you making room for silence. Don't try to suppers it.
      Instead surrender to the sound
Enter into the ringing sound, and allow your whole body, your whole existence to re-vibrate in sync with the sound, in this way you will even the energetic pressure within your whole body.
Never hate the tinnitus, never be afraid of it
It is just a sign that it is time to unclutter the blockages
This is a call for meditation
Exactly the meditation is the way to fix it
But if it still bothers you to meditate, that means you are limiting your understanding of what "meditation" is.
no offense at all intended, but for many people "meditation" is just a hollow cliche, while in reality meditation is to have awareness inward, and that means to know, to understand, to see, everything and beyond.
