I'm from the Washington, D.C. area and I have relatives in New Jersey. When I was a kid, we used to go and visit up there during the summer and the place that we would go to was Ocean City (which you mentioned BTW). We'd stay the weekend and do the usual things, like hanging on the beach for half the day, walk on the boardwalk, walk the jetties, fish, go to restaurants, etc. I have some very nice memories of going there. It wasn't nearly as crowded then as it is now though. With it being 77 on the day of your trip, what perfect weather that must have been! I'm glad to hear that you had a great time.
