The US government just made every phone in the Apple Store destroy everyone's ears with the nationwide test for the EAS system. I've actually been looking into the technology, it's quite fascinating how it works. Also here in Canada our emergency alerting system called Alert Ready is just pure ear rape, it is a little scary as well but it gets the job done to let us know when to take action.
