Learning more about Kylie's allowance & how you incorporate it into your Montessori parenting would be so cool. (I'm not a parent but I can't get enough of your family & Montessori content lol)
same here haha! but gosh i look forward to it:)
Same here!
What a lovely presentation of preparing a room to promote Independence and self-confidence! Those IKEA spice racks have so many uses!
I would love to learn more about allowance from a Montessori perspective. Also, after the attacks this week, my first thought was your family-- my heart goes out to you guys, navigating raising biracial children in a world where there is so much hate, and I hope and pray we can all work together and give your girls (and every child of color) the world they DESERVE to grow up in where everyone is loved and valued for who they are.
Thank you so much. We are fortunate that Mike nor our girls have ever experienced anything related to these atrocious crimes, but our hearts go out to the individuals and families who have been victim to it. ❤️ My heart breaks to think that anyone should have to endure such horrible treatment based on the color of their skin or their ethnic background. My greatest hope is to effect at least some change toward greater world peace by changing the way that we raise our children and sharing the Montessori love with all of you. The world could certainly use some more Montessori in it! ❤️🌏
I love the fact that you are showing that nothing too fancy or so materailistic! It is simple and functional that what we need! Thank you for sharing Ashley 💞
It's so good that all this emphasizes how the children can best make use of things on their own and how they can best access things by themselves. Use every inch of storage you can find.
You're absolutely incredible! Always inspirational.
I was waiting for this! Can’t wait to watch!
I would love to learn more about Kylie's allowance, when did you start giving her one?
I would love to learn too. Thank you Ashley for all your hard work!
I love to give my child allowance. It tells them that money matters
It is lovely to hear some refer to their 3 year old as a preschooler instead of continuing to call them a toddler. That’s one of my educator pet peeves particularly on TikTok.
She just turned 4!
@@starlessstephtx Oh yeah you are right she did! She did call her a preschooler in other videos prior to her birthday though :D
I considered her a preschooler once she turned 3, as that is when Montessori begins formal preschool education. :)
I’m legit so excited every time I see you’ve uploaded 🙌
You are mama goals! Thanks for sharing your passion and family!
Such a beautiful room! Lucky Kylie! One day when I get motivated I will rewatch this video for inspiration xx
Really looking forward to this video for ideas!
I love how you don’t say “hit that like button and don’t forget to subscribe and hit the bell!”. It gets so annoying when RUclipsrs do that every video 😂 but btw I always hit like before the video starts 😋
That teddy bear is adorable! So great to hear that Kylie had a say in some of the decor in her room! I doubt this is the case, but do Kylie and Mia ever get "territorial" with their rooms? Not wanting to let the other touch something or move something around (like Kylie's favorites on her shelf)? My brother is 13 years younger so I had a very different sibling dynamic growing up 😅
omg so excited to watch this
YES to an allowance topic, thnx!
i love the bed such a great idea to work well with babies, toddlers and small kids without constantly changing up beds.
You can also turn this bed upside down and use the ladder to climb in :)
Woooow!!!! That dinosaur book 😍😍
Yes please make a video on the allowance!
That room screams Kylie...love it!
Loved this!! I actually just watched Kylie and Mia's room tours yesterday! I was also watching your series of videos on activities from birth. I was curious if you will expand that? I watched a few because I have a son who is 16 months old and was looking for some ideas and inspiration. I was excited about the play-doh and kinetic sand. Looking forward to seeing his reaction. 😍
Thanks so much for your valuable teachings. Your videos are so helpful!
Would you mind talking about how to teach kids ( 3 and 5 year olds) to organize their rooms? Or how do you teach them to do their daily chores?
Thanks
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH HEPA FAMILY
Greetings from Namibia Africa , you light up my day. how do I get my husband on board with Montessori education?
Is there something in particular about it that deters him from implementing it? I showed my husband the school I was at and what the children are eventually able to do if we implement the Montessori principle. There are also a lot of wonderful videos online explaining the reason Montessori is better than traditional education, maybe show a few of those to him!
@@MariaandMontessori thank you for your suggestions. Every time implement Montessori related activities he doesn't fully support or would do the opposite, example he exaggerate apologies, talks baby language instead real words... Etc
@@happinessimbili ah even my husband, who is on board, sometimes slips up and does these things. Clapping is his favorite. I try to stop him, very politely, in the moment and tell him why that's not beneficial for our daughter and what IS beneficial. For example, "baby language can confuse her and delay her speech because she will try to follow what you're saying and learn it incorrectly. You may think it is fun, but it is really confusing for her and will be hard for her to fix it later. Let's be respectful to her. She is a human, let's talk to her like a human." It can be very hard to unlearn what we have seen our whole life, so I try to have patience with him as well. In a way, teaching Montessori to 2 kids 😅
I'll do that, thanks again. Have a pleasant weekend ahead
Beautiful video. Hey Ashley I was wondering if you could give us a look at the Montessori shelves every week with your weekly videos so that it's easy to know how you go about managing it. My almost 4 yr old is totally into imaginative play that shelves have almost nothing on them. 😭🙄 Yet I'm following her cues and not forcing . But would like to learn from you❤️
When you mention only using certain toys when you are able to supervise, that really makes me wonder again - how much of their typical day are you directly involved/supervising their play? And how much of that time you are just doing something completely separate? I am going through a very difficult time with a near 1 y.o. and a just turned 3 y.o. My oldest is not seeming settled with the whole thing of having to share my attention and is having a harder than ever time actually doing anything without my involvement. Would love to build a picture of where your family is at with it at 2 and 4.
And the bedroom is looking really lovely of course!
You talk about this rug so much I finally got one. It beats trying to keep my son out of the dog bed 🤣
Lol we love our fluffy rugs so much 😜 we’re all about the cozy stuff around here
I really like the way Kylie‘s room looks and how minimalist it is. My daughter is 4 years as well (soon turning 5) and her room is a lot more cluttered. We do manage to keep it tidy and everything has a place, but I still feel like it’s overwhelming sometimes.
So my question is: how do you handle decluttering Kylie‘s stuff? I try decluttering with my daughter every once in a while, but usually she wants to keep most things. Sometimes I do it by myself and store the things somewhere she can’t see them, but at this point she knows very well what’s in her room and notices when things are missing.
I’d be thankful to learn more about your approach to this. Thank you!
I tell my daughter we can not have all the toys out at once. So we store things and rotate them.
Would love to hear more re:Kyle allowance- thanks Ashley :)
Have the same bed but we painted in white 😊
Hi sweetie
I love your videos! I’ve found so much inspiration and I just bought the Montessori wardrobe from sprout thank you have with your discount code thank you!!
I have a question as I’m transitioning to Montessori method bedroom set up for my 12 month old daughter, I still nurse, yet I want to sell my rocking chair …so what do you recommend for nursing mamas if I want to get rid of the rocking chair?
Since you've had both the Sprout bed and the Ikea bed for a while, which do you prefer? Both appeal to me but the bars on the Kura make me hesitant for when our baby's older/taller (say, 4+YO?) and may end up bumping into them while trying to get in/out, but I also like how it's not super open and may not allow roll-outs. What say you? Any chance you could go into Pros and Cons or share your fave :)?
(Thanks in advance and also a huge thanks for all your super helpful content!!)
Omg we just did the same exact thing with that ikea bed!!!!! Hahaha
Very beatiful
So Ashley, my son has his own bathroom in his room and I have a stool for him where he can reach drawers and see himself in the mirror. Should I still install a mirror and shelf for him to brush his hair and look at himself? Another question, he has a drawer chest in his room where I used dividers for pants, short and long sleeve shirts and shorts and the other bottom drawers for pijamas and socks. Do I need a wardrobe? I could also install a lower rod for his walk in closet for sweaters, jackets and button down shirts (although because of the pandemic and living in California there isn't too much need for these items at the moment. Thanks in advance.
Your walls look textured. The walls in my daughter's room are textured and I was considering some decals I found on Etsy but wasn't sure if they would stick well on her walls. Do you recommend a particular seller of decal?
Thanks Ashley! Where are all the clothes?? I feel like we have a gargantuan amount of clothes, do you have any more stored? This was helpful. I could definitely “loosen the reins” as it were and let more toys and things be out. It’s just ... the cleaning up is such a pain in the butt. But here you said you do not do it every night which is encouraging because ... oof. Peace!
Thank you for showing us Kyle’s bedroom. I was wondering how many books do the girls have? How do you manage rotation of all your books when the girls have access to all of them?
An allowance one would be interesting
Awe, her room is so grown up! I’d love your opinion on bedroom/playroom setup for two. I have a almost 3 year old and a 3 month old. Right now baby boy sleeps in a bassinet in my room. My toddler has her own room with all her toys and toddler bed. I’d like to transition her into a twin bed and baby into a crib. We have two rooms. Should the kids have there own rooms with toys and bed in their own rooms.. or should they have toys in one room and both of their beds in another room?
I wanna know when to transition for a bassinet to a regular bed safely because of wild sleeping i personally wanted to wait to around a year or maybe talking stages
We have a 2 yr old and 4 ye old too. Both boys though. Question. They currently share a room. They seem to sleep better that way. Any tips for separate rooms vs together or just personal preference? Thanks!
what is the name of the Ikea bedframe? So you literally did not put the slats underneath for Kylie as a toddler because I loved the look of her toddler bed?
What are you going to do for the girls high school education? There are hardly any Montessori high schools and I’m very conflicted if I start my child on Montessori schools and then they would have to transfer to a public school and be shel shocked by the differences. What are your thoughts?
What will their bedrooms be like as they grow into middle schoolers/high school? Will you still incorporate Montessori?
They'll probably get to pick it out Id bet. I mean montessori is all about independence. I'm sure they'll like the montessori type since it was how they were raised.
Does anyone find sleep training clocks useful? (E.g., Groclock) I am a bit hesitant to give my child a digital clock as she’s learning to tell time…but all the sleep training clocks are digital. Are sleep training clocks actually helpful?
I'd like to know how to have a calm sleeping space and a playroom all in the same room. Is this possible? I mean, for people who only have one room where to fit both.
Room dividers!
I have a question. What do i do when i give my 4 y old 2 options, u can walk by urself holding my hand or u can sit on the stroller.
Her anwser is always no or neither. Sits on the street for example and i end up picking her up and carrying her home. Just an example.
It happens with everything i give 2 options for she always finds a third option.
im so exhausted
This would not be easy, but you would need to be firm and repeat that sitting on the street is not an option because it is dirty and you are going home right now. Offer her the options again, and if she again chooses neither and stays seated, "seems you would like to sit and relax, so let's go ahead and sit in the stroller". Giving in to carrying her home shows that there IS a third option, that she can get to if she just tries hard enough. Again, this is by no means easy, I know. Especially in that scenario where you are really trying to get somewhere. But consistency is really key.
♥️♥️♥️♥️
I looove the paper pom-pom things, I kept the ones from our wedding for about a year, then I noticed there were flies growing inside one of them! So maybe check them once in a while, I really don't know how that happened, we have insect protection on all windows..
I also love the dinosaur book! And I'm looking forward to the video about piggy bank and allowance. Absolutely love your channel, I'm so happy I found it before giving birth!
Do you have a baby gate at Kylie's door to stop her from coming out of her room in the middle of the night? If not, how do you ensure she does not go into the bathroom and play with water or something in the middle of the night?
Kylie does not do any of those things, she sleeps at night because she is tired and knows it is time for sleep. We also do not have anything preventing her from leaving the room because she often gets nosebleeds at night and needs to come to our room for assistance.
You must have great genes if your grandma made the bear for Kylie ✨
Cool bedroom! Your children are so blessed. Where do you store Kylie’s clothes? Xx
I believe they dont have much clothes for the kids pretty much whats on her wardrobe
Jessica is correct. Those are all of Kylie’s clothes that you see stored in her wardrobe. ☺️
@@HapaFamily awesome, I love it!
@@jessicarodriguez413, gotta say I admire the simplicity.
omg did you say oma? do you have dutch heritage??
What mattress do you have with the kura?
It’s linked in the description box. :)
Hi, Ashley. This is Bella. I do not wish to be a troll and disrupt your night, but I was wondering if you could do a seperate video about children misusing their art supplies.
