Do you think that New Jeans will follow this same path? Both cases are so similar. Plus, I would say that New Jeans case is even worse because all the members "left" the company without permission or previous agreement.
Will Ador create a NJ point 2, possibly as they do own the branding, concept, name, and the songs. If the NJ members continue this path yes they will be blacklisted, they will face heavy penalties, HYBE the major shareholder of Ador has significant resources to take these brats through the courts as well as any company that signs them behind Adors back.
There's no way ador will let the group get the rights to name without them directly buying it from them. Unfortunately the members do not own the name Newjeans, the company does. Now the question is what will ador do with the trademark? They could decide to redebut the group with new members to capitalize off of their popularity, but imagine the hate train those new girls will get from day one. Bunnies are already toxic and min heejin will definitely direct their hate towards them. Look at 50 50. There's still people attacking them for not being the same members as before. Ador could try to alleviate some of this by doing what lesserafim does by turning off all comments on socials and sueing those who slander the girls. The other route is to start with a new group name and dungeon the name NJs, making it a stain on the company's history to never be touched again. This could get rid of some hate, but they will still get hated just for being associated with ador/hybe. Ppl will just call them a replacement just like illit. Honestly, I just feel bad for any girl groups under hybe. Future and current. Nobody deserves to be bullied just for existing. They had no part in this. They are just following orders from the execs at the top.
This story just sadly proves that young talented singers/dancers and visuals are a dime a dozen. Superstars are branded and marketed to audiences, but are always replaceable since there's always someone younger and hungrier just around the corner and probably willing to even work for less (this applies not only to the kpop world but even the corporate jobs too).
It's a harsh reality, but it's true - everyone can be replaced. If I were to leave my job tomorrow, someone with higher education and more talent could probably do the same work for a lower salary, and no one would even notice. It's sad, but that's the reality we face. 😞
But it is the harsh reality that everything in K-Pop has its own peak time where they truly shine and the time where they lose they shine. We have to expect it and I already experienced it. I thought SNSD is the only K-Pop that will only staning to but along the way when they don't promote anything as a group and each one of them focus their own career it makes me sad since it was the that time for being a truly dedicated fan, I became a multi Stan because I can't help it when BlackPink debuted and immediately fall in love with them. There will be times where a group will have its one peak and then lose its shine.

This exact phrase uttered by that stupid SBS Unanswered Questions, "FIFTY FIFTY was the next Blackpink or BTS" is what got the public to cancel them ironically enough in Korea and caused them to look into the misreporting that the program did. It was A LOT of misreporting even outside of saying such a stupid thing. It costs the whole show their reputation and they have never recovered since airing the FIFTY FIFTY episode. They threw away almost 3 decades worth of credibility to do fast (and inaccurate) reporting.

Well, their remaining fans are at least surprisingly dedicated. Aran did a solo cover recently that got 2 Million views on Twitter/X. So there is a possibility they can do okay internationally, just not in Korea. That being said, their current company isn’t really known to crank out bangers so… hard to tell
@@nguyenthiphuonganh so how do you feel about Ablume fans/boycotters who believe that their new group will actually surpass Fifty Fifty? That's the narrative I keep hearing from them online.
@@tortega-z7t it would be a big sheer luck for that to happen. That hit song was literally their ticket to success and they lost it. There were a lot of factors that contributed to Cupid being a hit song at the time which are lost in today's reality. One was the fact that kpop generally was on the rise at that time. There was a lot of international interest in kpop then that's not so much right now and that's what made the company huge investment in promoting the song into a huge success possible. Talent is not the only thing that gives a group hits, if it was just talent then groups like beamon , nmixx and so would have made it to billboard by now. The fact is they would have it super difficult now because not only are they not liked in their home country which is literally their base to success but they are also not so known in the international market as their fans like to believe. It's the name fiftyfifty that's popular and they don't have the name even the group name was made popular due to the whole legal issue that occurred after the song rather than the song itself. While it's not impossible, it would be super difficult for the group.
Well…. Their new CEO is in legal trouble for refusing to pay pay child support, their new company has never turned a profit, their previous girl group got screwed over . The parent company has a CEO who is a fugitive hiding out in Thailand, that might or might not be placed behind bars these days. And so on. I wish the three chicks good luck in this shady mess, but…….. Oh, well
I have never followed girl groups. Yes, there are maybe a handful of gg members that I recognise, and songs that I like, but I find that ggs are just more trouble than they're worth. Whether it's members breaking the law, conflicting personalities, infighting and bitchiness, straight out bullying, lies, scamming their fans, and attempts to gain public sympathy with fake injuries, etc., I just find them too much trouble and honestly can't be bothered... and this goes all the way back to GLAM. Also, I'm finding that many 5th gen ggs just don't understand the meaning of respect, which I find totally unacceptable, and that also goes for many of their fans. On the whole, most of their music is pretty much the same, as are their concepts, and just don't get me started on their choreography, which on the whole is either highly provocative, or more often than not, looks really sloppy, and not in sync. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for companies being made to put their idols' physical and mental health, and their safety as the top priority, and no idol should be subjected to any kind of abuse, regardless of their gender... plus there does need to be better scheduling to ensure that their artists get enough breaks and time to rest and recuperate - there's no point in exhausting your idols so much that they're all suffering from exhaustion, but what FIFTY FIFTY and now NEW JEANS are doing, is just unacceptable. NEW JEANS in particular, are just a bunch of entitled brats who didn't have to do the hard yards to get where they are today. Their companies spent billions of KRW to give them every advantage, and benefits that frankly, other idol groups, (mainly the male groups), had to work damned hard for years to get - sure some of the older ggs have to share a single bedroom, but have you seen just how big those were?... big enough for each member to have a proper bed and space to walk around, unlike, for example, BTS, who all had to share one bedroom the size of a postage stamp, with dodgy bunk beds. None of the ggs seem to realise just how lucky they are to have so much space, with many of the 4th and 5th gen ggs having individual bedrooms from day one. Yes, they achieved almost immediate success, but so can anyone whose had a ton of money spent on them, but all that's really happened is that you now have a bunch of children, (yes I know they're not children anymore, but they certainly aren't mature in any way), with god complexes, who think they're better than their seniors, and who think they can dictate to their employers. I'll be so glad when this whole saga is finally over, but it'll be interesting to see exactly how it finally plays out...
agree with this, i think they like to sugarcoat all that goes on in ggs because apparently they cant act civil with one another. i wonder if theres more jimin and mina situatiins than we first realise maybe thats also why some ggs disband so suddenly?
The remarkable thing about Cupid was its US radio success. I hear it in Walmart half the times I go in. Money killed the group. The company wasn't ready for it. I hear 'people know the song, they don't know the members', true but, music industry people know the members and know the story and know of their success.
