Honestly, the exchange between Lincoln and Sal would have gotten an Oscar nomination if this game was a movie. He was unapologetic, Lincoln calmly exchanged words with his enemy and both men knew their fight will not end even in death.
I never realised until my recent play through that Marcano essentially made Lincoln’s nightmare a reality, he was completely incapable of moving or speaking as the people he cared for were slaughtered before his eyes at the bar

The few dying moments of Sal Marcano. You could tell Sal Marcano was emotionally killed when he already saw Lincoln in the window reflection behind Marcano. Sal doesn't plead for mercy and beg for a second chance to leave, he knows it's been coming to him. That's what really gets me the most. I know most people would beg and plead for mercy if they gone through what Sal did. Sal didn't hesitate, for he knew his time was up. It honestly struck me in the feels that scene, I chose to load one shot in him from behind since he admitted he was done for it.
That is why I let him kill himself. Because he was already emotionally dead. The moment he saw Lincoln instead of Georgi and the downfall of his Casino.
In the end Lincoln became what Marcano was, the man who took everything he had. And Marcano became what Lincoln was, the man who lost everything. That’s some effective revenge.
Sal was hesitant to sell drugs until that italian guy forced him in exchange for killing Lincoln, while Lincoln did sell drugs without being forced to, but Lincoln also donated and built and financed schools, hospitals etc. so I'd say they're not better or worse than each other, but different.
@@limitess9539 Technicaly that was what Sal would do once the casino was built, use it to service the community, maybe rest easy knowing some of the shit he done was wrong and let the criminals sort themselves out in the process.
Sal is a damn fine villain and Donovan is a damn fine ally, these characters got all the charisma. The game really could have a great potential if it was polished technically and wasn't all about grinding.
This is probably the best evaluation of the game I've seen. Not prejudiced, not whiny, just objective. I liked the story and the atmosphere, it was just the repetition of each mission that bugged me. That and the glitchiness.
I was going to let Sal blow his brains out but then I thought back to when he sadistically made Sammy crawl on all fours and then shot him in the back...I thought it was more fitting of Lincoln to really go for it and totally waste this guy...because Sammy or Ellis would done the same for Lincoln if they had somehow lived instead...
When I played this and I realized that it was a documentary on Lincoln I thought that he died and it would be during the final mission. I thought that when Leo pulled up to the Casino he was gonna tell Lincoln he had to die glad Lincoln lived though

In my opinion If anyone realized that sal marcano from the start of the mission had already given up on everything if he knew the last of his men couldn’t kill Lincoln He was probably ready to give up And what’s more interesting and obvious He went from being the crime king of new Bordeaux to being killed on his own throne (mafia boss chair) in his new castle (the casino)
I wish they'd let you have a choice in how you kill Sal instead of just stabbing him. Also, I get the feeling that even if his son had stopped Clay, the Commission gents would've finished the job.

I am a little bit upset that Sals death is just him sitting in his chair I was expecting an epic final fight with him in his office maybe have 20 to 30 guys with him then after he is downed and you kill all the guards the cut scene would be him crawling away and it would mirror when he killed Sammy and Lincoln would just un load his pistol into him and then sal would be dead
Then what? Wait for the commission to ask why there was a bloodbath in the city, spending the remaining days of his life as an impoverished crime boss living foot to mouth? Sal knew he was fucked but at least he will fight to his last and die with some dignity
They're too busy running the family. Plus it would be dangerous to have all four of them go because that runs the risk of them dying. Plus story-wise it needs to be Lincoln doing this on his own
