I agree. AlthoughI am enjoying "Homegrown" and "Growing Florets" on magnolia network. but RUclips gardeners are more interactive and helpful and more reliable for frequently produced content and its nice to find people in similar zones and stuff, so you're totally right.
Hello, from Pomona California zone 9b/10a. I planted ranunculus in containers for the first time this weekend. I have zero experience growing flowers. I'm very excited to see these lil corms transform into beautiful flowers. Thank you for all the information you have provided.
I am so glad I just watched this! I actually soaked and potted my corms yesterday, and it seemed like roots would come out of the thick round part, I didn't even question myself! Anyway, I just went in the garage and uprighted them. What a relief. Lol
One of the things I really appreciate about your videos is that you demonstrate how we can still get the job done even without fancy/new/expensive gear. I was under the impression from watching others that I'd have to create a bubbler or leave my water running for hours in order to soak corms; no one ever suggested it might be as simple as just changing the water every hour! Thank you :)
I do enjoy all the English gardening videos , yes !! I agree on Carol Klein , she is very very exited about gardening and she transmits that emotion every time I watch her videos . I wish I can have big gardens like the English one though.
The UK gardeners have a great climate. They’ve been at it longer with many species are perennial for them . I enjoy Carols videos a lot. I don’t know of any here in USA.
Years ago, we loved to watch Crockett's Victory Garden. It was a great gardening show. It was on PBS. We still have Crockett's Victory Garden book and his flower book, too. I still use the Victory Garden Cookbook by Marian Morash. In addition to recipes, she also gives information on how to grow the vegetables she is cooking with.
I love Gardener's World! I watch it every day (the old episodes) and I learn so much from it ❤️ I also used to love when Martha Stewart had a gardening show, it was so 90's, but so awesome! I miss those kind of shows that were more instructional, they were great 😄
I absolutely love Gardener's World. Monty and Carol are my heroes. I quit watching regular TV back 4 years ago. P Allen Smith has a RUclips as well as This Old House. I really enjoy watching everyday gardeners who put themselves into their gardens.. Their are many out there who do a great job on their videos. I always have many channels that pop up in my feed... God bless
Yes I miss the tv garden shows very much! I used to get the magazine Gardeners World from England, which is where some of my family is from so I like it too!
I love gardeners world! I have a subscription to Brit Box so I get to watch all the episodes as many times as I want! The English climate is fabulous! Very different to my Colorado prairie here. I also enjoy English Garden magazine for beautiful photos and inspiration! Thanks for a great video!💕
There used to be great garden shows in the US like Gardener's Diary, Gardener's Journal, and Gardening by the Yard. HGTV and DIY Network turned to the garden makeover shows that really have nothing to do with gardening. It's great that we now have access to Gardener's World through the interwebs (I love Carol, too!). Here's a fact: The #1 employer in the US in the US Government. The #1 employer in the UK in the floral and gardening industry. We call what surrounds our home a "yard." In Europe, they call it a "garden."
I'm a zone 5, Bradford County, PA. Just had 4" of snow on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 and our last frost date is May 15th. Thank you for sharing your tips on starting ranunculus--it's a flower plant I will need to grow in the near future.
beautiful idea for arrangement! I had a cute result with planting leaf lettuce under tulips and other spring flowers. Nice bright green, soft foliage added to container.
I’m so glad you recorded this because I have just a few ranunculus that I sprouted and really want to plant them in a container outside but wasn’t sure when I could do it, weather wise. Thanks! ☺️ Also I feel the same way about Carol. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her realness is refreshing.
I'm with you 100% on the UK gardners. Carol Klein is my favorite personality too. Thanks for the rannunculas time frame for planting out in the garden. Mine are so ready to go. 😊
Hi. I’m from England and have grown Anemones for the first time. I pre sprouted them and couldn’t believe the results. The roots were huge. I was thrilled because I haven’t had much luck with Ranunculus due to a VERY wet spring last year. However I’m going to keep on trying. ❤️
Love gardeners world, Carol is so fun, and Monty has an endearing warmth like no other. Your channel is always the 1st I watch and I get just as excited to see a new video as I do from new gardeners world. Keep doing you!
I watch you for inspiration and I am blown away how you love our British gardeners for your inspiration !! 😍😍love your channel xx all the way from Yorkshire , England xx love carol klein too xx
Oh my goodness. The lack if garden shows is so annoying. HGTV used to have gardening shows and now it's all home improvement. I used to love Paul James on Gardening By The Yard. I love Paul Ts World youtube channel. He's in England but he hasn't posted any new videos in about 8 months. I will have to check out the show you mentioned. There was a show on TV called Backyard Envy I think. It was 3 folks in NY who created gardens for people. It had 2 seasons and might be canceled now. I ordered a set of 6 Foxy Foxglove from QVC this year for spring. I am in zone 5B in Maine. I understood them to be a biennial but will flower this year supposedly. Then maybe they self seed? I guess we'll see. :)
What a beautiful blue pot and the plants and stems look fantastic. I, too, am drawn to British Gardens. I've missed Gardener's World. Love, love Carol Klein. I must have watched all of her shows more than 3 times this winter. Looking forward to your Lily video. HAPPY SPRING!
Love, love, love your videos. They are so helpful. I'm grow ranunculus for the first time this year and they are turning out beautifully due to your help. I am so excited! 🌸💗🌸
I learn so much from your videos! Looking forward to the lily video. I tried to grow stargazer lillies (my fave!) but didn't have great luck. I got a few small blooms. Maybe it was because they were smaller bulbs from Home Depot. 🤷♀️ Another variety of lillies I have dove into recently are day lillies. I added several varieties last year, from Sterrett farms (think that was the name...they were in my Garden Gate Magazine) and they did very well for me. Your borders are so beautiful...can't wait to see your gardens wake up. Looking forward to a vitual walk through your garden rooms!
Good to know about Foxy Foxglove blooming first year. I knew some Foxglove did, but wasn’t sure of cultivar name. Thanks. BTW - your excitement for gardening comes through, just differently than Carol’s.
I would gladly pay for a subscription to UK gardening shows, which is saying a lot because I'm cheap! homegrown garden (with a period in-between) on RUclips is fantastic also and she's in the UK. Love Klein also.
Glad to have found your channel when searching for ranuncs and anemone infos. I watch Gardeners World and This Old house too! I am in a much colder climate, so I may need to adjust and look for a spot to properly grow more for next spring. I am growing anemone rarity and the ranunculus crema this time and only a few survived my experiment last spring. Will do better next time, thanks to you and your video. New Subscriber here! :)
I don't have a tv or cable any more and have never heard of Gardeners World. Is it on PBS? I used to love Saturday mornings years ago when there would be gardening shows on tv. I used to watch one on PBS, I think, with Elliot Coleman and his wife, from their Maine garden. The P. Allen Smith garden shows were another of my faves, and he has a couple RUclips channels with the old and newer shows. I think Martha Stewart had a show that was just on gardening, and those may be on one of her RUclips channels.
I am obsessed with the UK garden shows :) watching all I can either on youtube and have subscribed to a couple of English channels now through Roku. :) makes the long winter so much more tolerable lol.
Hi Danielle..you can let the foxglove go to see and just spread it around your garden every fall. They will grow beautiful sprouts and still hang on through your winter. If you keep that succession going you'll never have to presprout foxglove again😁
Growing a Greener World and P Allen Smith are still on PBS, and both really good shows. I also like Charles Dowding’s You Tubes, he’s located in England.
Thank you for the information on cool flowers! I need to see more of this in fall. I forget & end up doing everything at the end of winter and spring, which is overwhelming!
Love your arrangement and the beautiful pot! Can't wait to see the blooms. Last year I planted ranunculus and anemones in my cold frame. The anemones bloomed on March 3rd and the ranunculus on April 15th. I took out the ranunculus to make room for other plants but must have left the anemones as they are blooming right now. Western WA Zone 8b
Another great video. I love Ranunculus!!!! Beautiful blue planter. This Old House is still on tv but their main focus, of course, is the house so not much garden content. Garden Smart is a show I DVR as well as P. Allen Smith’s show. I don’t get any British shows unless they are uploaded to RUclips.

Also thanks on the anemones because for the past couple of years growing them I didn't realize there was a bottom and top. I just planted them however and they always worked regardless but next year ill be more careful! Looking forward to that lily video 📹 😀
Danielle, your videos are the best! Always so informative and inspirational. I’ve never heard of some of these flowers, but you’ve got me believing I can grow these too!
Yes, Garden Answer on You tube.... people tried to copy their show and call it garden answers......but not the same....and some people seem very jealous of them, but that's the world
I bought some ranunculus and pre sprouted them 2 weeks ago, and realized crap, i put them the wrong way haha! i reversed them and saw there are a few shoots coming up despite the upper side being buried. hopefully in a week i will see some longer roots, i also saw a bit of tiny roots...so excited, im in zone 5 ontario canada. I bought some lilies last year on sale, 2 yellow ones and one red....im excited to see how they grow this year....love your videos, you actually got me started on ranunculus!
Next season I will try to grow ranunculus and anemones! I want perrennial anemone for the landscape as well as ranunculus and for cutting! Israeli anemone is the new wedding flower for 2022. It's white with creamy skin and black almost dark blue central eye! I have hope to have a bride next year to grow for! TFS and good luck with your article. Please share with us if possible!
I just love any flower that resembles a rose! I want to try to grow some in a pot--I've never grown one before. I hope they will like growing in Michigan!
Just discovered your channel. It's great because I also live in PA zone 6b. I'd be interested in understanding more about row covers and how they are used especially vs portable greenhouse.
Video request: can you share your top garden inspiration books? In your last video you mentioned looking at a few for inspiration on garden design and I’d love to know your list of favorites. Thanks!
Danielle, I’m so excited to see my foxgloves I started from seed last spring! I was so disappointed that they did nothing last year (same with the snapdragons-I did buy the cool flowers book, but not in time for fall sowing). The leaves are already almost up to my knees! I am only 5’3” though….🤣 And I’m in SC, zone 8. I’ve grown them before, but never from seed. They’re obviously not the Foxy variety.
I ordered about 400 ranunculus & anenomes this year & had to throw over 1/3 of them away. I dodnt get my hoophouse finished in time. I order 320 more though. I just couldnt help it. I want a huge patch of them like Tonya's at Freshcutky SO BAD! Unfortunately most of them arent coming until april 11th & Im worried it will be too hot by then. But then I found another company that is shipping now & ordered some from them... Cant wait to see your ranunculus & anenomes this year! 👏
What is the quantity of foxgloves you plant in the drift? I love the impact! I"ve been gardening my whole life but my biggest challenge is knowing how many plants to grow to make an impact in the garden. Is this a topic you may consider covering in a video?
Hi!! There's a girl that made a trellis for under 50$ her channel is called garden addicts. She's a young African American girl. I don't know about you but I'm going to Lowe's now to make me one! I prefer Ranunculus 💯
Hi Danielle. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Your manner is so positive and calming. I have a question about planting foxgloves seedings that I started from seed in January. They are now in 4 inch pots, with very established root system - they are Camelot lavender, I live in Pittsburgh - zone 6a. Is it too early for me to plant them outside? thanks! Lynne
Can you share what you have out in your garden for bee foraging in the very early spring? I noticed today, here in New England, with the unusually warm weather, what looks to me like a queen bee - given its on long side. Thankfully, I have my dwarf Ozark Witch Hazel in peak bloom which it is enjoying right now... It is just too early for the maples.
I really enjoyed this video reminiscing old garden shows. I miss them as well and would love to watch Gardener's World. How do I go about watching the new season in the U.S.?
So glad you mentioned the UK gardeners today. I agree about Carol and loved her recent series. She has such a way with words and descriptors. She just oozes gardening love. I have a question for you. Do you grow irises or know very much about them?
Hi Danielle, thank you for another great video. I am very drawn to your logo hat!! Do you have those available for your viewers to purchase? I would certainly be interested. Thank you! Leah
Come on Danielle, containers are not your thing? ha, who are you kidding 😂 that is gorgeous & creative. Question, can I plant ranunculus in recycled nursery pots and just pop them in pretty spring containers when is time to bring them outside? happy Sunday everyone!

Yep, can't wait for Gardener's World. And yes, absolutely LOVE Carol Klein. I love her excited hand gestures. They punctuate each sentence!

Love Carol Klein’s enthusiasm!
Lovely to see foxgloves going into the ground. I was featured on Gardeners World on last years Easter special, highlight of my year!
I agree the British gardening shows are the best. Gardeners World is starting this coming Friday March 11th.
Thank you for the info!

So, when you mentioned those two gardeners, I added them to my list so I can enjoy them too.

Oh I sure didn't know about leaving fox glove after a year. I pulled mine out last year. I will have to try again. Thank you. 😍😍😍
That planter is beautiful 😍 and I just can’t wait to see your beautiful arbors covered in beauty 🥰🥰🥰🥰
How beautiful. That blue container looks amazing!!

I don't watch TV anymore but P. Allen Smith has a RUclips channel and also the public can tour his home gardens.
Love his aesthetic and style!
Good morning Danielle, happy to enjoy this with morning coffee! Always inspiring and informative!
Love, love, love your videos. They are so helpful. I'm grow ranunculus for the first time this year and they are turning out beautifully due to your help. I am so excited! 🌸💗🌸

You are such a wonderful teacher!
Growing a Greener World and P Allen Smith are still on PBS, and both really good shows. I also like Charles Dowding’s You Tubes, he’s located in England.
Great show! Have a nice day....Think I would've put in that last plant.....
P Allen Smith is on our PBS channel on Saturday in North Carolina. Also he is on RUclips.
You just saved me from tearing mine up!! Thank you so much 😊 Mine look exactly the same in a place I hadn’t planted them.
I’m in zone 7A and I’m soaking ranunculus and planing on planting them Tuesday and I’m excited I really love your channel
The ranuncs and branches are beautiful!!!! Thanks for another great video.
Thank you for the information on cool flowers! I need to see more of this in fall. I forget & end up doing everything at the end of winter and spring, which is overwhelming!
Thoroughly enjoying this new video style, Danielle! Thank you for sharing your expertise!!!
Great color pottery, the flowers will pop! The willow structure adds that added interest.
Love your arrangement and the beautiful pot! Can't wait to see the blooms. Last year I planted ranunculus and anemones in my cold frame. I ADORE Carol Kline 💞
This old house is still on TV here!! Sometimes I catch it on Sunday mornings on one of the public television stations- PBS . Also thanks on the anemones because for the past couple of years growing them I didn't realize there was a bottom and top. I just planted them however and they always worked regardless but next year ill be more careful! Looking forward to that lily video 📹 😀
Gardeners world was always Fridays, I’m pretty sure it starts this coming week! I’ve been missing it for sure and can’t wait for it to come back!
Great show. I haven't grown ranunculus or foxglove before. My foxglove seeds are in the refrigerator now. Cross your fingers and wish me luck.
Wow she grew those ranunculous from seed! Beautiful! I started some from seed but they are very small!
Danielle, your videos are the best! Always so informative and inspirational. I’ve never heard of some of these flowers, but you’ve got me believing I can grow these too!
Gardeners world already? Can’t wait. I love all things English.
Your container is beautiful. I really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.

I've had the same experience as you with planting foxgloves in the fall in my Zone 7B garden. I'm planning to do the same with ranunculus this fall.

I like your tree painting
Love watching your videos!! You explain things so clearly!!
P. Allen Smith shows are on RUclips!
i feel the same way about Gardeners World. Love Monty, but Carol is my main gal! Her energy is just infectious. I havent watched her show, though!
I just love any flower that resembles a rose! I want to try to grow some in a pot--I've never grown one before. I hope they will like growing in Michigan!

Look up Joe Lamp’l “Growing a Greener World”. He is in the USA somewhere.
I really enjoyed this video reminiscing old garden shows. I miss them as well and would love to watch Gardener's World. How do I go about watching the new season in the U.S.?
Hi Leslie! Do you have amazon prime? You can add on britbox from there which has gardeners world. Looks like it starts back up on the 11th.
So glad you mentioned the UK gardeners today. I agree about Carol and loved her recent series. She has such a way with words and descriptors. She just oozes gardening love. I have a question for you. Do you grow irises or know very much about them?
Hi friend! I grow bearded and siberian iris.
