When velvet revolver was looking for a singer they had asked if he wanted to join .. he said he didn’t want to do it cause he felt he was more than just a singer like Scott was… the way he plays guitar his like the way he sings .. he couldn’t separate the two.. would of been interesting though.
I'm a fan of plenty of bands that I feel should be household names and yet aren't, but Ian Thornley is top of that list. The amount of talent he has is absolutely insane. He is a top tier singer and guitar player.
Yes, you're absolutely right about the Chris Cornell sound. This is one of those groups that I like more and more every time I hear them. This is SO good. Kind of like the stuff KFMH or 93.9 (alternative station out of Davenport) would play. Did I mention I think this is SO good? Keep up the great channel - you're doing a fantastic job!!!

I love Big Wreck. They many great songs. My two favorite songs are Time and Diamonds. Highly recommended!!
Saw them finally live in Houston, TX after a 28 year wait and it was great, but sadly to a VERY small room of only about 50 people. Fkn pissed me off that they don’t get more respect.

Highly recommend Fear & cowardice by big wreck too…the range of what they do is just awesome….thanks for highlighting one of my favourite bands…glad you’re getting into them too…

He happens to look and sound kinda like like Chris , Ian is an amazing musician he sings rips on the guitar and writes songs.
Chris Cornell sounds like Ian.
Lol bingo! Chris was another amazing vocalist, and while they do have similarities in sound I think it's mostly in the fact they use the same techniques. I'm sure if Chris were still with us his voice would be just as powerful as is Ian's after 20 plus years of grinding it out year after year on the road.

@@sawtooth808 LOL yeah Chris Cornell couldn't live with himself because of the things had had to do to become a international superstar! There are a TON of people with WAY more talent than Chris Cornell, the only reason certain people become stars is they REALLY do sell their souls. The sicking things that they do to become famous weighs on their conscience until they can't handle it anymore. The music and film industry are SICK! If you want fame to have to pay the price, many can't live with the cost.
Try some of there newer stuff as well still criminally underrated and still writing awesome stuff in fair light, bombs away, all on the pages 1 ep

The live version is a much better version to react to. There are a ton of subtle changes and variations on the guitar and vocals. Showcases his talen a lot more.
