Kate- my heavy hair has never stayed up with just pins, either (as tacky person mentioned below:-). However, using your good volumizer, teasing, pinning up sections at a time, cross-locking the pins, has all made it work for me! Tried this out tonight and it worked great!! Got loads of compliments too :) I have long, thick hair and it still worked - just took a few more twists and made a larger 'bun' at the back to make it happen. A fab tutorial and so easy to follow :)

I just went and tried this out...... definitely harder to do with longer hair but easy to accommodate. I followed everything else the same but instead of the loose pinning up I loosely wrapped it in a bun and then spread the bun apart with bobby pins to get the loose effect. I absolutely love it. I'm actually going to wear my hair to work like this tonight.

I love this! I have the same length of hair as you, and the same thickness, and my hair is so pinpoint straight. I have tried other hairstyles to test out for my prom, but my hair is just way to fine. I have resulted in extensions just for prom! But this is so simple and easy, love it!!

Thanks so much, the tutorial was so easy to follow, this worked perfect for a black tie awards night I had last night! It was my first try too and (although I had to use stacks of pins) it worked an absolute treat and looked gorgeous! I received so many complements :P My hair is brown, thick, really long and naturally very wavy and bushy and with a little curl define mousse after I washed it to grit it up a bit, loads of pins, a bit of patience and lots of hairspray the steps still worked wonders! I have a wedding in a couple of weeks, I'll be checking out some of your other do's!

I really don't like doing my hair I stress out easily and bail with a top bun. Every day. Have a hen do to go to later so thought I'd give this a bash. I went and got some dry shampoo and hairspray and gave it my best shot. It looks great and feels secure too. Thank you so much for this video 😀
I found that it was easier to do this hairstyle by putting the bottom-half of the hair in a clear elastic before doing the random pinning. It will hold the undo longer and it will not come out as easily. Also you should have your hair curled like she said because then it will look nicer after you have pinned it around the clear elastic.

I gave this a go, using a tip from another video about using dry shampoo to add volume and it looked amazing! Thank you for a clear, some video that helps us non-girly type girls to be able to look glam!
