    I was happy to see another video from you and then to hear my name mentioned was pretty wild. I discovered a video you did on the bucket level indicator some time ago and have been watching your videos ever since. I made that level indicator the next day and it still serves me well. By the way the best paint match for the Kubota is sold at Wal-Mart and called lobster red. I forget the brand, but you should be able to find it. I look forward to many more videos with one or two Dave's! Prayers!

      sweet tip on the paint Jim! I may just do a video on that soon. what brand is this lobster red? krylon maybe? i know walmart sells Krylon paint. glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you did not mind me including your name. the prayers are much appreciated.

      Dave, I found my old can of paint and it is actually rust-oleum brand paint. They never write the actual color on the can, but there was a barcode sticker on the can that said lobster red on it. I actually got that tip from another video, but can't remember who it was (getting old). I probably would not paint my whole tractor with it, but it's very difficult to tell that my bucket level was not factory paint.

      thanks Don, I enjoyed making this video but it was a lot of work. so many scenes, so many audio files, so much processing, not to mention the first two attempts did not turn out well enough to use. I did enjoy making this video. its been fun to read all the comments from friends who got a kick out of it. I have made several of these types of videos over the years of being on youtube. they are way back in the youtube archive. I hope to make a few more like this.

    My brother had the same thing happen to him. He was abducted by aliens and they brought two back instead of just keeping him like they should. Now I have two of em mooching money and borrowing equipment. It was a sad day when the mothership brought them boys back. Excellent video by theway-as always. You get a lot of work out of that L2800. Been thinking about replacing my old Ford with one.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад +1

      huge difference between the good ole fords like the 8n and such to these new tractors. some good point some not so good points. the tractor available today that is closest to equivalent of the L2800 is likely the L2501 which is a really nice tractor. my neighbor just bought one on my recommendation and he loves it. he got a L2501 with a front end loader, woods rear discharge finish mower, land pride box blade, 18 ft equipment trailer to haul it on for 21,000.00 which is a great deal for a brand new tractor that size. plus no dpf stuff. if I went bigger than mine I'd jump up to the L3901 or larger. glad you enjoyed the video. just pick the best out of the two brothers and get rid of the other one no one will likely miss him. lol

    Great tip Dave to pass on. I'm all for easy.
    I do use my old heavy duty blade that might not be square, but change the angle on it all the time any way on my drive way, to maintain a crown, as it is a steep 100 yd. grade.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад

      at the very least the measurement will get you close which is a time saver. I have an old blade myself its a tad worn but still works well for my needs.

    • @victorcastle1840
      @victorcastle1840 6 лет назад +1

      I got my old blade back in mid-70's when we moved from town and I got my old 1948 8n ford tractor, it and a 8' disc came with it. The blade is heavier than what I see sold now day's. It has replaceable cutting blade, will slide side ways by loosing 5 bolts either direction. It made the little 8n squat when you lift it and so did the 8' disc.
      Oh, forgot the cultivator with fenders .

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад

      that is an old one. they don't make them like that anymore. wish mine was that heavy although mine is an old lienbach from back years ago and is a lot heavier than you can get now days its still not quite as heavy as the old iron you would see on the 8n fords. I'm surprised the 8n could pull a 8 foot disc your 8n must have had a good granny gear installed for pulling that beast. my Kubota pulls a 6ft disc but that thing is heavy back there and I know she is back there when I used it. I avoid using that and use my tiller instead. its been super hot here. dangerous heat 104 yesterday according to the temperature gauge outside and humidity was up there five minutes outside and I was soaking wet. hope you are having a great day. stay cool and hydrated.

    Does your clone have his own channel because I'd love to subscribe to it? Great tip and fun video Dave! I sometimes use a level protractor to set my implement/quick hitch level. I set it on the tractor operator deck and center the bubble, then I set it on my implement/quick hitch and adjust the lift arm until the bubble is centered. You could check various points on the tractor to ensure that you have a valid zero. Love your channel!

    Hi Dave, Maybe you can answer a question. I have a Kubota L2500Dt, would a Wood 48 or 60 suit me best
    Hugh

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад

      assuming you are talking woods brush hog like the "woods brushbull 60 inch" the pto hp of your tractor is 22.5 and it should hand a 5 ft " 60 inch " brush hog just fine. if 48 inches will cover your rear tire tracks then a 48 inch would work well with out loading your tractor in heavy thick stuff at higher ground speeds. if it were me I'd go 60 inch and if you get in some thick nasty stuff that is bagging down the tractor then slow down your travel speed or over lap the cut so you only cut a 48 inch wide pass at a time. then in normal conditions you can cut the full 5ft. I hope to do an additional follow up video to my brush hog series to show some of this in practice. I hope I answered your question. if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer.

Also, I have joined your channel and even though I know my click is a drop in the bucket when your at 4K, (Big congrats on that by the way and will certainly hang around for more) was wondering if maybe you could come by and see what we do and if you like what you see (I recommend the 1.25 mile windmill train to start), maybe become a member of ours as well? Hey Dave, have you ever had your front axle begin to leak after using your loader with heavy loads? I’ve been doing full bucket loads of 1 1/2 rock with my L3830 and suddenly developed a leak near my right front wheel housing. Just wondering what your experience has been or anyone else looking at your channel.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад +2

      yes I have and I talk about this in several of my videos. this is why rear weight ballast is so important. when you move heavy loads in your front bucket the weight shifts to the front axle. then when turning while moving that load it tears the seal. rock is very heavy, wet dirt is very heavy and when doing that type of work I try to install my weight ballast to counter that load back to the rear of the tractor and away from the front axle. fortunately for me when this happened my son was working for Kubota corporation as a certified repair technician. he had access to all the repair manuals and the knowledge to do the repair. I was sick at the time and was unable to video the repair but it took him less than thirty minutes start to finish. so far I have had no further issues. now with that said I also did not use the Kubota front differential fluid instead I replaced the fluid with Lucas heavy duty gear and engine oil. its much thicker than what comes standard in the front end. its so thick that unless you have a really bad leak you could likely replace what is in yours now with the lucas and not even have to replace the seal. its a gamble I was going to take until my son showed up and replaced the seal. I still installed the lucas in there and I have had no issues using the lucas in the front differential. every where else I use Kubota products except there and the engine oil I use the rotella that everyone else also uses.

    • @laurijorgenson6683
      @laurijorgenson6683 6 лет назад +1

      daveknowshow thanks so much for that advice. I topped the transaxle fluid off today with Super UDT (didn’t take much) and cleaned it all off today and while I was using the tractor doing more loads, I was careful not to turn sharply but still had some heavy loads. It never leaked during my use because I was checking it off and on however when I took it back to the pole barn and parked it, I went to check it and it began leaking quite a lot all of a sudden. It’s strange. I will update the oil to the thicker stuff and test some other theories. Thanks again Dave and God Bless You.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад +1

      you may also check the vent hose that goes from the front axle to a spot under the hood most of the time. see mine in this video here. ruclips.net/video/jQTFkG68OhE/видео.html

    You have a cloning machine too? I have a cloning bucket that RUclips did not think it was appropriate for most advertisers so they demonetized it. I have always wanted to clone myself. Just think of how much work I could get done.
    My adjusting link on my grey market F15D Yanmar is hydraulic. I hate it. It keeps moving on me. I have been wanting to buy a complete aftermarket 3 point kit for a while now.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 лет назад +2

      ye the hydraulic tilt can move while in use. I have not installed one on mine yet for that very reason. the do make a control valve to help with that leak down issue but it still may go down some. I rarely need to tilt anything on the back except the road blade and bottom plow. the road blade I tilt using the top link instead of the side link. I'm not sure why youtube has not yet targeted me like it has other folks on here. the only thing I can figure is I been on here so long making videos and have never once had an infraction against me or posted anything remotely questionable. they did mark two of my poems as not suitable for all advertisers. but so far that is all. of course I rarely check it so for all I know there is a lot more now. maybe I should go check on that now. lol

  • @johndoe-uf9pu
    @johndoe-uf9pu 5 лет назад +1

    Can the adjustment link be applied to either or both lift bars?

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  5 лет назад

      you could install an adjustable link on both but typically one is standard because you will never need to tilt any further than the range that one can provide by itself.
