    I am a 58 year old disabled veteran, since I was 14 years old i dreamed of trapping in the far north. Now I am in San Antonio Texas assisting my pastor in establishing a church. I always wanted to trap marten, fisher, weasel, wolverine. You are my extension to experience my dream, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!! :-)

    nice catches..... I usually buy my pelts of criters and then get them mounted... Like a coyote($20 with carcass) here from Michigan and for my black bear( 6 ft. 8 inch) shipped in from Van Couver(from Fur Canada.com).. a rug … I usually take a short cut.. on the trapping process... as you can see... its all fun.. happy trails

    What's that little jar on the shelf next to the tree (18:57)? Is that lure for Santa or his elves? Maybe a little reindeer urine?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  5 лет назад +1

      Its an empty lure bottle. It had skunk essence in it.

      D'OH! I just saw the "reindeer" part! I'd forgot about that brand of lure, been trying to block it from my mind. Supposed to be skunk Essence but it was a tincture which just means they water it down 10 times and charge you more for it! Nowhere near as good as getting pure quill straight from the skunk.

    hello, what is the best way to encourage marten to fall into the trap?

    • @TrappingIncTV

      A big chunk of bait closes the deal for me

    Would making longer slots in the box cause a problem or only help the trap not launch?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  8 лет назад

      As long as the trap isn't bottomed out you are good however you do it.

  • @Koivumaa94
    @Koivumaa94 9 лет назад +1

    When i tested my belisle 120s at home the nut on the trigger got caught between the jaws and did not close properly. have you had the same problem? i have not tested to set them out yet for marten so i can't tell how they work when the animal gets caught in them.

      tigerhood94 I have never seen anything like that. I don't know what to say. i do know if you phone Belisle Benoit (the owner) usually answers the phone and customer service is very important to him.

    what holds the trap in there to keep it from falling out? Thanks

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  2 года назад

      The half inch slot allows the trap to be wedged in place.

      @TrappingIncTV  5 лет назад +1

      No not necessary but I like them for taking up less room.

    When I was a kid I was pushing down a dead rotten standing quakie and a flying squirt bailed out of a hole and I looked up right as it opened up to glide and as a kid all I saw was a scary open animal a foot from my face about to maul my pretty little face and as a little kid it was the scariest thing ever 😂 I’d pay money to go back n watch my reaction.

    So how does the EU know what brand/make of trap caught the animal?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  4 года назад +1

      We police it here in Canada. Like any international treaty

    • @dabprod
      @dabprod 4 года назад

      @@TrappingIncTV So the individual trapper has no choice in what traps he can use??? Not all trappers can afford that make of trap so it's just too bad for him I guess. I trap in the US and I think some of our fur ends up in Europe, and we use a variety of different brands of traps. We enjoy freedom of choice. Just my thoughts though.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  4 года назад +1

      There are several makes of traps of every size and configuration that are certified. There is plenty of choice. US furs get sold into Europe because they get lumped in with the Canadian fur that is compliant. This is probably going to end in the near future when origin labeling starts.

    • @dabprod

      @@TrappingIncTV Isn't the New World Order wonderful. EU to Canadians and Americans, you can come to Europe and drive on our roads.....as long as you drive a Mercedes. Nothing else is CERTIFIED by us.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  4 года назад +1

      Actually trap certification (for the world) is done in Vegreville Alberta Canada. In the early 90's the EU banned all trapped fur from North America. We asked what would change their minds. They set the standards while laughing behind their hands at us thinking they couldn't be met. We met and exceeded them and now everyone benefits, even those who didn't sign the treaty. You're welcome.
      Personally some of the changes were long over due. Killing traps rather than footholds for things like marten, and fisher for instance. By the treaty the animals have to be dead in 120 seconds. I'm good with that. Sure I had to change traps and how I trapped but I've adjusted. Another change was the offset and laminated jaws on footholds. Lots of guys were using these long before they were law because it made by catch release so easy without damage or they were trapping for live market. The world moves on and we either adapt or get left behind. These were tiny adjustments for a giant win in my estimation.

    How do you make your bait from beaver and muskrat

    • @TrappingIncTV
