I also noticed that when I listen to English for a long iime, this makes me speak the language automatically. So listening also helps in speaking. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏

Eavesdrop politely. Eavesdropping or listening to other people's public conversations is a low-pressure way to improve your real-life listening skills in English.

Thank you Mike for your recommendations. I like listening English, specially " American stories" it is very well done, good pronunciation and if I want I can follow the writing as well. And the majority are done at the end of the years 1800. I can say that is professional work.

Thank you for this helpful advice, especially the one about the subtitles. I was confused because some teachers advised turning on subtitles while others recommended turning them off, but your explanation clarified everything for me.

There are reasons to turn them on, but in general, if your goal is to get better at listening, I recommend keeping them off most of the time.

Hi teacher Mike. Could you be so kind and tell me if I can use" any more ,no longer" in that sentence? Suppose I have a toddler and I am feeding it right now but after a few minutes she refuses to eat. I ask: 1. You do not want to eat that soup any more/ any longer? or 2. You do not want keep eating that soup? Do the 2 sentences mean the same and are correct ? pleas , help

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish

"Any longer" sounds strange and maybe a bit formal in that context.
