The monument-like building seen in the video on the Bund is the Shanghai People's Heroes Memorial Tower, symbolizing the immortality of the martyrs who made glorious sacrifices since the Opium Wars, the May Fourth Movement, and the Liberation War in Shanghai for the Chinese revolution.
General, people from the North in general eat more noodles/baozi etc, food that made of wheats than people from the south do, while people from the south eat more rice/rice noodles, especially rice itself that made of rice, that's because fo the climates are quite different.
Good to know Bang Chu! May be I have seen lots of noodle restaurant in Shanghai :) I will keep my eye open up wider and try more variety types of Chinese food here. So far I enjoy it so much!
Harbin is really a must-visit city, best time to Harbin is early January when the snow and ice architecture are just newly built with best quality, breathtaking!
Thanks Caleb for sharing with us that the best time to visit Harbin is January. I have a feeling that I might be there in beginning of next year ~ excited!
Wishing you a pleasant journey in Beijing. Please note that if you plan to visit popular tourist attractions such as the Forbidden City or the National Museum, be sure to book in advance, especially during the popular summer vacation. Additionally, when you are taking pictures at the Bund, I don't know if you've noticed that the Bangkok Bank occupies a prominent position in an old building on the Bund.
Thank you so much for your lovely wishes Kakarote! I just got back from Beijing last night. There are so many surprises and unexpected stories I can't wait to tell. And yes, every time I walk pass Bangkok bank at the Bund I somehow feel like my home is near :) Have a good night!

Nice extra long video this week to make up for no video last week. Here are a few suggestions for places to travel to. You definitely need to go to Zhangjiajie. If you like spicey food go to Chengdu and take the Yangtze River cruise. Hangzhou is very nice and it's close to Shanghai. Go to Qibao Lu in Shanghai.
Hi Andy! I would love to go to all places you have mentioned. I went to Hangzhou once in March and still wanted to go there again to visit tea field. Cheers!
@@funfancie Beside that, Chengdu is also one of the food capital of China, a paradise for spicy food lovers while Qingdao is famous for its European-style cityscape and its beer scenarios. I am personally from Guangdong, but unfortunately, Guangdong is not one of the exciting places in China in my opinion. We do have good food too, tho. So please visit if you have a chance to.
Suggest you postpone your Beijing trip to late August or early September bcos now Beijing is heavily flooded even in the forbidden city from the news. It's very rare situation. Hardly heard Beijing had floor b4. There are lots beautiful towns surrounding Shanghai for a day trp. Within Shanghai, suggest you visit such as Jiading嘉定,Nan Xiang 南翔where soup dumpling is famous n originated. A big lake Dian shan hu 淀山湖. Lots little towns in nearby Jangsu n Zhejiang provides. Nanxun南浔,Jiashan 嘉善,Jiaxing 嘉兴 in Zhejiang are all very close n easily to have a day trip on weekends.

The average cost of food I spend per meal here is around 50 RMB. But if you visit fancy restaurant it should be around 100 RMB per meal. Have a happy trip to Shanghai!
Hi ~ I went to Hangzhou once in March. It was spring time you can watch it in Ep.10 if haven't watch already. I will definitely visit Hangzhou again in the future since there are still places I would like to explore such as tea field :)
Hi, thanks for these great vlogs, very informative! I would like to ask if I can use in Shanghai my own credit and debit cards, issued from my banks in my country, to pay. Thanks!
fan of your videos. The sound is good, but sometimes it's a bit difficult to understand cause you speak so softly, you should consider a microphone or something like that to hear yourself perfectly, your fans would appreciate it. ha ha
Hi Ivone, thank you so much for watching and you being my fan has made become my day become more special :) and thanks for the feedback on the sound. I'm also thinking about using microphone to improve the sound quality of my video! Let me do some research ~ good night from Shanghai!
theres anti china channel talking about all store mall close and bankrupt in china ,is that true ?? but in reality what i see from vlogger in china thats looks not true, everything fine
Interesting, but haven't you left out one obvious question? Can't imagine no one has asked! Didn't mean to pry, so it's absolutely fine that you don't want to talk about it.
Chinese people eat rice!! Especially the south side of China, like Shanghai or Guang Dong. (While the northern part is usually considered to prefer flour-made, not rice-made food, like noodles or bing(饼). ) Noodles for Shanghainese people are usually breakfasts or fast (and delicious) food like Macdonald's. However, if you go to any decent Shanghai restaurant, a full meal or dinner is always about rice! 😄 You can try 建国小馆328(¥105/person), 老兴鲜(¥259/person), 人和馆(¥206/person). They are all not expensive and are good quality Shanghai food!!😘 (and I'm back in SH recently, if you need any help, feel free to contact me haha) Love you like always! ❤
Welcome back to SH Vino! omg ~ all the places you mentioned sound super duper interesting. I have them on my note now and would love to visit them one by one! 晚安 good night & sleep tight :)
