(My beach cottage was opposite..I painted it white with yellow trim and once had a pink door! I eventually got a new door...an arched white dutch door. 😊) What a great gift from Brian! Yes, that's a beautiful, perfect color! It's so bright, sunny, and happy looking! I know that feeling when you totally switch things up! We'd lived in our house over 40 years and always had the same brownish, natural cedar siding. But though that lasts a long time, you can imagine it was looking shabby, after 40 plus years. We picked it originally, so it would just blend in with the woods all around us. But when we knew we had no choice but to replace it, we discovered that natural cedar siding was now WAY, out of our price range, especially during the worst of the Pandemic that began abruptly after we started our search. So since natural wood was out I started looking for a color that looked a bit like wood, and in the meantime, my husband decided on the type and brand of siding he wanted, and that immediately limited my options, even more. Finally, chose a dark red that looked, at least on the wall, at the store, a bit like Redwood. Well, when they finally started putting it up, I was thinking "Oh no, is this going to just be too bright and look garish?" Well, happily, by the time they finally got it all installed, I realized the color is one that kind of alters as the daylight changes, and that it really wasn't garish at all, but just made everything look fresh and new, and even at times really did look a bit like Redwood! Whew! And the best part is every time someone comes who's not seen it, they go on and on about how much they like it, just like we all love your yellow! And I guarantee you, every time you come home, you're going to smile all over again, at how happy you feel, seeing it!! ❤
