You should build lookout towers (i think they’re called) because they got great vision range and thus are great at removing fog of war. They cost a bit of wood but the ability to scout the map safely and efficiently is really good

I typically built a few watch towers around my town once I stabilize so I plan how I want to clear. . They reveal a lot of the map. you can also move where your resource gatherings are working so they are not stuck working where you plop down the building. Kiting is king in the early game. You can get to a point where the AI can't beat you, at least the last I played I went many rounds beyond and it mattered not. Interlocking catapult/trebuchet fire for the win.
1:00 not exactly true.. infinite mode.. I had tried a map with an infinite mode on and.. after creating enough dwarfs (guys with hammers) few healers behind them.. some archers or trebuchet on wall.. I literally went afk for hour and nothing happened to my base.. Not sure if it had some major update to do problems now :-)
I am doing that too(map : troublesome valley) But when 60th wave came, They were bunch of scotts(guessing number 200~300? or may be more) Even though my wall endured that wave, it was so painful to sustaining my castle after then
There are too many of these copy-paste games. This is what gaming industry has become, every developer lacks the imagination and skill to make good games. Its always copy-paste of someone elses game with just new textures / models. Its just unbelievable how bad the gaming industry has gone.

and archers get a huge range bonus which helps in the early waves
I still want to see Cult of the Lamb, but this is just as good. I love these kinds of games when Pravus plays them.

I'd fancy seeing Pravus take on the story mode as a rebel. Need to be quick with the upgrades to take on Children of the Revolution
