Rare Mercedes-Benz SL55 Brabus K8!

- Meet Cliff and his amazing Mercedes-Benz SL55 Brabus K8, one of just six in the UK!
Based on the SL 55 the roadster features a performance-tuned supercharged V8 engine. It has extensive modifications to the supercharger drive with a custom vibration damper and a new pulley for improved belt-drive geometry, high-performance metal catalysts, and an auxiliary circulation pump with opposing radiator.
1. The speed limiter has been removed, the top speed is now over 210 mph
2. It has Kleeman headers
3. The throttle body was enlarged from 76mm to 82mm
4. Primary cats were removed, leaving only secondary - it still passes the emissions test.
5. It has the Brabus lowering module fitted, so it is almost 2.5cm lower than the SL55 AMG
6. As with most Brabus cars, these cars were converted to order - with an almost endless list of Brabus options
7. The full model of this car is - SL55 K8

Things which I should have said:

I often find that I wish I'd said certain things on camera too so you are certainly not alone in forgetting a few finer points.

Deadly car,, and in black 👏🙌, recently got my self the SL600 V12.
The sound and the power are incredible, well done getting your own, we won't see V12s again in the future sadly.
An interesting machine that must have cost a serious amount of money when new.
It's always interesting to see what you can find for an extra few quid over your initial budget and a trip up here to Yorkshire thrown in sounds like a great deal to me. 😅

Thanks for the comments Mark, he’s a top bloke and so knowledgeable, I didn’t realise that they were so rare as a conversion from the factory, but the cost must’ve been astronomical from new.
That’s not the rocker cover - that’s the supercharger assembly!
