When you keep on experimenting you get something new, thats how music or anything evolves.Imagine if only people would have stuck up to the old musics,if they were like this is the trend,we don't have to try something new,Music wouldn't have evolved.I'm not down shading anyone but either way people gonna like or hate the change,thats the reason peoples are afraid of rejection they're gonna face.Nct being one of the group who tries to change the whole dynamics and perspective of music so people either gonna love them or hate them for bringing the change...

there's a lot of substance in this reaction, it's my favorite one for sticker so far! ive found nct's music (127 especially) needs time to marinate before you can fully appreciate it,, even as an nctzen. it's honestly part of what makes the whole experience of stanning them so fun :')

I really like the way you explain your thought toward this song because for me, I cannot find any word to describe it at all. It's weird but it is what I've expected to see and hear from 127 and it's really satisfying.

I automatically shouted, Shinee! NCT's seniors. Just listen to their title tracks from debut till now, non sounds similar to the other. Constantly churning different sounds with superb vocals. That's is one of the reasons I love them so much. And then I think back, no wonder I'm stanning NCT, especially 127. It is because of their experimental music as well. And their B sides? Exquisite!
Go look at there playlist for Shinee! They have listened to most of Shinee title tracks :) even solo shinee music.
at first it was too much for me, with the visuals and all, but after listening to it like 3 times i completely FELL IN LOVE with Sticker
and i can say for sure that no other group can pull off a song like this

Sometimes I can't believe 127 were my proper introduction to kpop because they are so unbelievably unique lol. I just adore how weird FITS them. Weird and addictive. No one's doing it like NCT 💚
i know that when i was first getting into kpop, there were songs that i liked, but the cheesy/cringey english lines took me out of it and made it hard for me to listen to (happened a lot with NCT, BlackPink, and some other groups especially) but once you can just let go of that and enjoy the song for what it is, you can enjoy things so much more. Dream's song "We Young" was a big one like that, i couldn't help but feel a little silly when listening to the chorus, and i never listened to it. But now that I've gotten over it, it's one of my absolute favorite songs in kpop. This song reminded me of that, too. When i was watching the mv on my own i turned off the subs because i wasn't feeling the lyrics at all, but watching your reaction with the subs there and just not letting them take away from the song is weirdly freeing. Of course deep and meaningful lyrics can make a song so much better, but they're not always needed imo.

I really love it when reactors talk about MUSIC and tries to breakdown how each sound makes them feel. It gets me excited 🥰
i don't personally vibe with the song but i think there's a frustrating narrative going around that if you don't like the song you 'don't get nct' or 'aren't a real fan' and that really annoys me. i have a lot of valid critiques of the song, and normally love their more experimental tracks, but people are going around basically saying that not liking the song = not being intellectual enough to get it.
i agree with everything you've said though. despite not liking it, i love that nct go there and make these more experimental tracks, since so many groups are afraid to do it. the album's really great and i look forward to seeing what you think of it!

Very true. It's experimental so people are bound to either love or hate it, which is not a matter of how "musically intelligent" you are. Some people do make it look like nct is this highbrow elitist thing
It’s polarizing. And you don’t have to like it. I support your right to not like it the way you’re supporting NCT’s right to release the music they want.
no cause a lot of people are not going to like this song and i feel like even the neos get that, it's *very* polarizing. i do hope that there are some songs on the album you do like because i definitely think it is one of the bests albums of this year

they could have seriously chosen any song to be the title track (lemonade, bring the noize, dreamer, like the list goes on) and then choosing this is, like others and urself have said, it’s sooooo like sooo NCT so neo so unique so different than anything and that’s like what makes 127 nct 127 it’s miraculous it’s insane it’s neo culture technology babbyyyy 🥵💚 we love a group that takes musical risks

I like that this song's structure is different and I love that NCT 127 are going against the norms! NCT = the future of music & experiences!!! This is so "neo" and screams NCT. Such a bold and unique song! The album is also amazing! They are truly special ✨
I have a feeling the idea for the piano may have initially been a ragtime-type style? So my guess is that it felt too busy and/or they decided to focus on “minimizing” all the different elements. So the minimal flute (I wonder if this mimics the highest and lowest notes from that common western movie stand-off/duel whistle-tune), as well as the minimal piano ends up sounding more modern - probably closer to 90s r&b. And the rest of the production makes it sound more like today’s music.
tl;dr… It’s as if Timbaland produced a song with the best Kpop songwriter.

everyone was saying that Lemonade woud've been a better choice of title track, but thinking about it, Lemonade is the track that every other boy group would've chosen. Sticker s c r e a m s NEO, and that's what makes nct music their music!!

You asked and the pre-chorus strings bit that sounds familiar is similar to a sample from the video game Fable. A crap ton of kpop stans use it in their RUclips videos 😄😄

As someone who doesn't have a background in music, I love how you point out those little details especially the instrumentals. It took me a few listens to like the song and now I'm obsessed because I keep finding new things everytime I listen to it.

same here! which is surprising because I've stanned for awhile and have pretty established biases, so I didn't expect that he would stand out to me so much but I'm glad he did! never a bad time for some extra taeil appreciation :))
I don't like the first 50 seconds, but I like the rest of it...I don't know what this means for my playlists...😂
But even if I don't like part of it, I love that they made it and put it out there, because there's too much of the same stuff again and again in current music and I love that they're making truly different music.
I spent ages trying to figure out what those strings reminded me of. In the end I think they remind me of a cross between What U by Speed, and the incidental music from Great British Bake Off
And this is why I low key stan NCT. Like SHINee, they're in a league of their own.
Actually, the NCT 127 vibe is there. But if you also noticed the sound is still different from the usual NCT 127 songs. And from reading a lot of comments here and there, i know some wants to hear the usual NCT beats/sound altogether. But hey, as you grow older, you experiment. Which I love about NCT 127. they are never afraid to do it. They are no longer youngsters. So of course, their songs and MV will thirst trap you more. Lol. I mean, Taeyong and Jaehyun showing up with no shirt inside, Johnny (well this is not new. Lol) as always showing his toned bod, Yuta who has a shirt more transparent than the others. Haechan with that gorgeous nigh and shining armor look, Jungwoo beastin' the mv especially the latter part, Mark doing the gun trick which made the ending special again, Taeil with more attitude, Doyoung with the gorgeous right face profile and blonde streaks., i mean all members looked like they will *Whiplash" you. Lol. I'm sure their repackaged album in October will show some usual NCT sounds ;). Vocals are more showcased here, and i'm lovin' it

I confess that I don’t have your ears and attention to detail. All I know is that I loved it. Doyoung was awesome (as usual). I have listened to most of their songs, his songs, and his covers, and I am still mesmerized by his voice. He has so many different sounds! Thank you for reacting to this.
It’s weird and polarizing and it might be a classic someday and it might not, but I’m here for the ride. I like its weird deconstructed Latin style a whole lot. I appreciate this rather than playing it safe. Even if I disliked it, I would respect it.

So... For me it was like this: at first listen (which was with the MV) I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I think the flute was upsetting my ears and "annoying" me a little.
Then I did the second listen with the album listen(sorry with the repetition) and I understood I like it. Not love it but like it. I hadn't listened to it again except for your reaction because I couldn't (you know... Life). For now my thoughts is that I like it but it's not something I would listen to any time.
I wouldn't call it brilliant or a masterpiece but that's just my opinion. For sure I wouldn't call it bad. At all. I'm sure a lot of people will do that but it's something that always happens when the gp gets something that they aren't used to.
Before I said the flute was annoying me but I think the reason was that my ears and brain were taken aback.
I'm used to experimental sounds, inside K-pop (I mean Skz are my faves, no one in the industry beats them in experimenting) and outside (especially in the rock "field") so I'm absolutely not against that, actually I love and appreciate when an artist tries that.
I personally appreciate much more the verses than the chorus and I think Taeil, Jaehyun and Haechan really fit this sound. But also Yuta even if he has less lines. Not a big fan of Taeyong's rap at the beginning.
I feel like putting out a song like this is much more interesting than putting out a song that fits the K-pop standards perfectly. There's already so many songs like that(I don't mean it necessarily in a bad way, it depends), not all needs to do that. NCT never was about that and I appreciate it.

The first NCT 127 song that I really don't like ......and I've been with them since their debut. I just hate the instrumentals.
Edit: It's the flute, it makes me reaaaaaaly uncomfortable mentally and physically, I just can't listen to it.
I don't care if people say "You don't understant them!!!!" I can have preferences, and I can have different tastes. I'm not obliged to like everything
I still didn't have time to hear the rest of the album, but I still have hope for it! Just because I don't like Sticker doesn't mean that I can't like the other songs.
For now, all I can say, the boys look amazing!

@@akanekodiviega I think the high pitched flute sound kinda irritates I get you. Hahaha just imagine some 6 year old starts going ham with the flute XD ya know the titanic flute remix. But I freaking love how rich this song is and I can’t stop talking about it. It’s alright for you to not like this because even Doyoung himself said it’s not meant for everyone. This song is a journey for me as it has the synth grooving in the lower layer and some sprinkle of bass added along with it then the piano section comes in that gives me so much Cafeteria shop jazz music vibe ya know those songs they play in Starbucks while you are having a cup of coffee while doing work or studying. Then there comes the strings instrumental idk if it’s violin accompanied with something else but it gives off so much orchestra feels and it presents the dramatic vibe of the song before entering the chorus. And the bridge is as usual slows down a little and their Heavenly vocals just pours down on you it’s magnificent. Follow up by the descending rap tone of Jaehyun and Yuta pick up by Johnny then transitions to the more edm-ish dance break to end the bridge.
That is fine! Nobody is expected to like everything. I’ll never be a huge fan of Highway to Heaven myself. And I like other songs better on the album though I really like Sticker. It is cool.
Loved hearing your thoughts on this song because ofc they are similar to mine. Its funny listening to this song, there are actually very few elements that make up this song sort of floating in a silence created by the strong flute tone. I'm OBSESSED with this song, you think you can't listen to this song too much, but I haven't stopped since day one. Its really maximum impact with minimal noise (and I mean NOISE).
