My fiancé and I had a seven hour day date that ended up also including the evening. We went to a botanical garden, coffee shop, and dinner at a restaurant. The only thing planned was the botanical garden. 😂 I feel like day dates are the best since you can extend the date to be as long as you want it to be and keep adding things to do after the first place.
I love how passionate you both get when you pick your sides lol. And on any of your topics the fact is that both sides are equally valid makes it all the better when you really get into it 😂
Mr. Johnson - I came into this video totally on your side. Day dates with the man who became my best friend and husband for nearly 24 years, were the most revealing about our chemistry and his personality. And the day into night dates is a real thing that was priceless! But Ms. Sloane's Escape Room scenario and list is super persuasive and, if I was dating now, that would be on my list of "must do" for any new guy.
This was probably my favorite episode. I usually hate when they go on tangents but the small D convo was hilarious. I do wish Josh would talk more about his personal life, like Dulce They should pivot this podcast to an after dark segment. OR Dulce should chronicle her adventures in dating. All I ask is 10%🙃
I'm with Josh, I feel like you get to know a person better during the day and I don't feel as pressured to do bedroom things. Alas, men rarely want to see me during the day.
My fiancé proposed to me on a picnic date at our favorite park. Our favorite park has a lake on either side of the path with wooden bridges. Lots of wildlife like turtles and fish swimming underwater, ducks and swans swimming around the water. It was the same park we went to during the beginning of the pandemic when I was sad how we couldn’t go on dates anymore since I’m high risk for COVID-19. We had gotten pastries from our favorite bakery and had a COVID-19 friendly date in the park. For the proposal, my partner had bought a cute red checkered picnic basket and blanket. He set it up before asking me down the trail to the water. He also got a dozen red roses that reflected in the water. Our favorite pastries. And then made a scrapbook of our last few years together with photos and handwritten notes and drawings. Of course I said yes! So day dates are my favorite. ❤
So we're on team josh's side today. I feel like with a day date there's just more activities to do. With a dinner date where you're like it's specific to food and at nighttime cuz dinner. That one feels like a curated experience
True story: I had a 'day date' with a guy who initiated by declaring he would pick the time; I was to pick the place. Deal! He chose 11:00AM; I chose a funky place in my neighborhood of a house converted into a restaurant that only served breakfast & lunch [affordable] He ordered a cup of coffee; I ordered an egg + toast w/ a cup of tea [$5 total]. Wait-staff came to table 3 times without him making a single indication of paying the 'tab'. On the wait-staff's 4th approach, I set out a $20 bill and said, mine only! I left a $10 tip and I never saw the guy again!
I think movie or theater dates are a bad choice for a first date. But seeing how many guys would shuffle around or sigh dramatically was useful information.
He’s freaking gorgeous! I would day and night date Josh. He’s also level headed, intelligent, well spoken and funny. It would be a great date night or day.
I think day dates, walks in the park, picnics, museums, art exhibits, exploring nice parts of your city that are scenic are wonderful. I also don't drink, doesn't discount night activites because there are some cool events or actions you can do at night., but there are going to be more activity scenario items that I'll enjoy during the day.
My first planned date with my now spouse was a brunch date because it worked with our schedules. However, we sporadically had drinks the night before. Brunch dates (day dates) are my recommendation for people who are getting to know a person because both people can move around as freely as they want if it doesn’t go well. Also, brunch dates in my city are pricey 🤑
When you're meeting for the first time, day dates all the way... Just less complicated and you've not invested anything unless you both click with each other... Night dates are after you realize you want to spend time with each other... imho
This was hilarious, and awesome! Me personally, I like both, but I do think that night dates have a bit more appeal when it comes to connecting with your partner and stuff like that even if you’re not doing anything crazy.
Yes, Dulce on the last part; but that’s to see how generous the guy is. But I’m again Team Josh. Day dates are excellent first dates because you can end it no harm, no foul. I’ve been on enough dinner dates that should have been handled at Starbucks to know. Here are some topic suggestions: Should both Dulce & Josh decorate their walls? If yes, then with what? Plants vs Pets could be a topic. Velvet posters vs fine art prints. Paint vs Wallpaper. Style vs Substance. Serious vs Ironic. Hand Me downs vs New New. Films vs Movies Bonsai vs Cactus. And so on, and so forth. I love this podcast & love you both, but I’m gonna need to see a plant, a fishbowl, a calendar, pens in a cup… something. ❤
I like day dates better. They're more fun and creative. And I find going to a bar or dinner as a first date way too intimidating. I've only done those kinds of dates with guys that I was already in a relationship with.
We love hanging out with you two! That was one of the best episodes EVER. Josh, you crushed it with the day dates. We both agree. But Dulce, you feminist icon, you, that lasagna story was epic. Love you both so much!
I’m team Josh on this. Day dates are best for all the reasons esp. making it last on to the evening if it’s going well. Also after we had kids we would take advantage of our kids being in school and take a day off get some loving in. Get lunch or massage and take a nap all before kids come home. Brilliant.
I just appreciate Josh tried to save the conversation by diving under the bomb 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Like at that point the conversation just got weird. this is why I Like this show the tangents you guys go on, it's always funny
I would have anxiety about not knowing how to end the daytime date in case i want it to end, with a nighttime date i know there will be a time where i simply have to go home and sleep and can use that as an excuse
Love Josh, and the debate is folded toilet paper or crumpled toilet paper ? I am folded till I die! Didn't know there were serial killers out there with crumpled toilet paper doing their business.
I love you two!! BUT, I cannot believe you never mentioned baked potatoes, during the French Fry Versus Onion Rings?!? And, Josh was RIGHT about French fries! 😋
Josh should write a book about dating lol. Dating/relationships are a pretty routine topic in his standup. And dulcé is on point 💯 with the escape room. Maybe they just need to collab to write a book about relationships and dating
Winning points on both sides here. Day date for the win. Also escape rooms. You could do an escape room at like 3 or 4 pm. That takes an hour. If it goes well maybe take a walk for a bit like through a park, through a zoo. Or maybe drinks. Still going well get dinner and it has turned into a dinner date. If the escape room goes sideways you can get out of there and the evening isn't ruined. I have to say no to the water ski date, unless you've been together a while. If it's a first date that's a bit intense based on what you're wearing and you can end up looking like a drowned rat with your hair and makeup ruined by the wind and water. I don't think so.
Please: I NEED to hear the TP 🧻 vs bidet 💦 argument/duel. I honestly can’t say who I expect to take which side. I like both types of amenity, but I feel like I can be convinced to lean toward one or the other with a victorious argument. Thank you for offering to let us audience folks contribute! 😊
I'm with Dulce all the way on this; night dates if you really care. The d!ck convo was hilariously on point. And I will consciously not pay for days this year. Haha☺️
OK, Dulce, I'm coming after you. It sounds like you equate your worth with HOW MUCH a man spends on you! When I hear a woman say they don't like day dates, I hear a woman that can carry her end of a conversation. If the dinner date is the only thing you're interested in, just say you want a free meal. I've had day dates (lunch) that ran over $100, so it's not about the money. Love your shows, keep it going!
Loved the podcast. Not sure who's side I'm on for this one. Dulce just wanted to comment on your skin game chick ... glowy and dewy fresh. #grape jelly vs. strawberry jam .... #crunchy peanut butter vs. creamy....
I like an experience date so I lean towards day dates. But I agree with Dulce that usually means low-effort coffee dates. I don't drink coffee so I can't be bothered to put on makeup for that nonsense. I don't enjoy meal dates though; I can feed myself. Let's do something and then go get food.
What if the Daily Show evolved into a show of correspondents rotating as host. They host their own episode, and use their peers as correspondents. The street talks remind me of my graduate research surveys (Neighborhood Paticipatory Research ). So it's a mosh of narratives (that can be streamlined) but they cover broad topics (which is great), and there's even screen time for all correspondents. Love y'all ❤️
People who plan day dates, ESPECIALLY for a first date, always have plans later in the day, so there's no opportunity to extend the date. Night/evening dates there's no conflict, you can hang out til 3am.
Tattoo or brand people so you know about em from the jump? Given the historical context , Dulcé missed. Thank you Josh for trying to say something about how weird that line of thinking was getting.
I would do day dates. Simply because I would be driving myself (I don't drive at night because of an astigmatism) because I'm not relying on a man to get me back because THATS how you get murdered.
Now this is very interesting cuz I've actually never been on a date before so rightfully I don't have any jurisdiction on this topic or experience but I would say that dinner dates are more romantic while Day dates are more anything goes like free for all. I guess I'm up for anything so I guess I would go for Day dates but if someone asked me to come for a dinner date or if I was making a date and I had to do a dinner date I wouldn't be against it. So I'm on team Day date
Nothing is more satisfying than listening to the two of you discuss any topic
My fiancé and I had a seven hour day date that ended up also including the evening. We went to a botanical garden, coffee shop, and dinner at a restaurant. The only thing planned was the botanical garden. 😂 I feel like day dates are the best since you can extend the date to be as long as you want it to be and keep adding things to do after the first place.
Come to think of it, my wife and I started with a long day date too.
I love how passionate you both get when you pick your sides lol. And on any of your topics the fact is that both sides are equally valid makes it all the better when you really get into it 😂

All I ask is 10%🙃
I'm subscribed to Josh's comedy stand up channel. He talks extensively about so many of his and his friends shenanigans 😂
"He's not a weredick" - best line of this episode!
She has a point about the labels. 😆🤣
"No, because my hand is always the same size" comes close
@@TheSongwritingCat 😎
At the risk of starting WWIII, I would love for Dulce and Josh to debate coffee vs. tea. Have they done that already? Who’s with me?
I’d love to see this, too! ✋
Josh doesn’t really mess with either.
He’ll pound some pumpkin creamer tho (listen to The Josh Johnson podcast)
I'm with Josh, I feel like you get to know a person better during the day and I don't feel as pressured to do bedroom things. Alas, men rarely want to see me during the day.

Of course I said yes!
So day dates are my favorite. ❤
Aw! He's a keeper!

Josh, knowing someone is able to be quiet is KEY!. Also, I like picking an event I like or always wanted to see/do.

That last story was absolutely diabolical 💀💀💀..
When you're meeting for the first time, day dates all the way... Just less complicated and you've not invested anything unless you both click with each other... Night dates are after you realize you want to spend time with each other... imho
Most women I know prefer day dates for safety reasons, so I was surprised that Dulcé prefers night dates as the 1st date.
Thank you for blessing us with the content of this stellar episode
I miss these so much! Please do more!
Lol!!! This is so funny!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I am in tears!!
You guys are awesome. Watching from Guyana 🇬🇾
That's actually a genius idea by Dulcé. 1st date do an escape room. I gotta remember that
I just came to say the same thing. Brilliant!!!
Thanks Dulce' can I still that? "I'm not even cold, I'm just protecting myself from the things you are going to say to me.' Roflol!
thanks Dulce i needed that message to STOP PAYING at the ending
speaking as someone who has never been on a date, i think i would prefer day dates.
As someone who has been on both I prefer neither 🤣
Ok I’m dying, this was my first watching the whole way thru… the topic, the back stories, and how you guys edit the conversation was perfect!
This was hilarious, and awesome!
Me personally, I like both, but I do think that night dates have a bit more appeal when it comes to connecting with your partner and stuff like that even if you’re not doing anything crazy.
You both are so fantastic together. I've been watching from the first episode but this one was funny to the extreme. ❤️
The empty shelf behind Josh disturbs me.
Even in my doormat days, I would not have waited half an hour for anyone. Not to mention traveling 2 hrs.
I'm dying to be in a podcast with my beautiful Dulce Sloan. We can talk about so many things like why she has not decided to have her own show.
I have to agree with Josh. As someone that doesn't drink also, day dates are better.
I can't with Dulce and the SD and BD digression 🤣🤣🤣.
This. episode. took. a. turn. 😅
Yes, Dulce on the last part; but that’s to see how generous the guy is. But I’m again Team Josh. Day dates are excellent first dates because you can end it no harm, no foul. I’ve been on enough dinner dates that should have been handled at Starbucks to know.

Honestly, I think both work just as long as you're with the right person or people.
Dulce, it's amazing what you can teach a man to do to compensate for short comings.
Josh was totally right. Day dates are 10x better than night dates. People tend to let down their guard more during the day....
I like day dates better. They're more fun and creative. And I find going to a bar or dinner as a first date way too intimidating. I've only done those kinds of dates with guys that I was already in a relationship with.
One of the best, love the ending. Women Power! You want my time, better spend your time, sir. 🙏😅
Love Dulce's outgoing message.
We love hanging out with you two! That was one of the best episodes EVER. Josh, you crushed it with the day dates. We both agree. But Dulce, you feminist icon, you, that lasagna story was epic. Love you both so much!
Are we getting new episodes soon? 😢❤
My thoughts exactly
That had Josh WEAK... he belly laughed and that deep deep voice came Out 🤣
I’m team Josh on this. Day dates are best for all the reasons esp. making it last on to the evening if it’s going well. Also after we had kids we would take advantage of our kids being in school and take a day off get some loving in. Get lunch or massage and take a nap all before kids come home. Brilliant.
Yeah it was that last exhale at the end That got me the most 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Josh was just done at that point
I just appreciate Josh tried to save the conversation by diving under the bomb 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Like at that point the conversation just got weird. this is why I Like this show the tangents you guys go on, it's always funny
Yay!!!! A new episode!!!!
I would have anxiety about not knowing how to end the daytime date in case i want it to end, with a nighttime date i know there will be a time where i simply have to go home and sleep and can use that as an excuse
Josh..Make 2 and throw 1 away!🤣🤣🤣
Had to say something! Luv u both!
the break at 37:18 could not have arrived fast enough..... Josh clearly knew what was being said.
“Married and bored, or single and lonely…ain’t no happiness nowhere.” - Chris Rock
This was absolutely blissful 😂❤
Love Josh, and the debate is folded toilet paper or crumpled toilet paper ? I am folded till I die! Didn't know there were serial killers out there with crumpled toilet paper doing their business.
Monsters live amongst us.
I love this debate idea 🧻🧻🧻
Dulce is great!!!
Can you talk about kids, dating and infertility?
I love you two!! BUT, I cannot believe you never mentioned baked potatoes, during the French Fry Versus Onion Rings?!? And, Josh was RIGHT about French fries! 😋
This whole video after like 10min was wild 😂
we pledge allegiance to the pledge that Dolce proposes at the end of the video and to the womanist republic from which it stands.
Josh should write a book about dating lol. Dating/relationships are a pretty routine topic in his standup.
And dulcé is on point 💯 with the escape room. Maybe they just need to collab to write a book about relationships and dating
10/10 Dulce, just let them know that you're a size queen.
Dulce is a riot!

Coffee dates, that can turn into a later date. 😄
Please:
I NEED to hear the TP 🧻 vs bidet 💦 argument/duel.
I honestly can’t say who I expect to take which side.
I like both types of amenity, but I feel like I can be convinced to lean toward one or the other with a victorious argument.

Love dulce
31:47 I'M UNSTOPPABLE!!! LOL
Yup she's absolutely right certain crazies Do come Out at night when dating. FACTS! Can't argue with that
Sparkling water vs still water!
I'm with Dulce all the way on this; night dates if you really care. The d!ck convo was hilariously on point. And I will consciously not pay for days this year. Haha☺️
No 5pm is not a day date especially in the winter because the sun goes down and it’s so late that you’re going to eat dinner around that time anyway.
OK, Dulce, I'm coming after you. It sounds like you equate your worth with HOW MUCH a man spends on you! 29:10 HOT TAKE! I've definitely never heard of this before
Dulce is grumpy today. 😆🥶
I like an experience date so I lean towards day dates. But I agree with Dulce that usually means low-effort coffee dates. I don't drink coffee so I can't be bothered to put on makeup for that nonsense. I don't enjoy meal dates though; I can feed myself. Let's do something and then go get food.

I wanna guess how soon the dinner date side bring up smashing afterwards. I'm guessing 12 minutes in.
People who plan day dates, ESPECIALLY for a first date, always have plans later in the day, so there's no opportunity to extend the date. Night/evening dates there's no conflict, you can hang out til 3am.
I'm with Josh on this one but Dulce had a valid point about the Escape Room (however that can be done in the day).
I went on a day date, then after, we went to the supermarket for groceries, best date overall.
the stealing woman, she had a partner in crime that she let in while he was cooking! also, team day date; night dates are just bootycalls with food. 😂
Like you guys🥰fan from Belgium
I just want to point out I really like Dulcé's headdress i'm not sure what that is called but I love the fact that it looks like a flower.
I don't know about day dating but I do love me some day drinking!
Split the bill, 50/50.
I get day dates. I love museums and aquariums and zoos. I want a like minded partner
Got a topic, with the Super Bowl around the corner… watching sports live at the stadium/arena or on TV.
Hello love dulce
I think this may be the closest I've ever seen to Josh winning one of these debates
DINNER DATES! No contest. Actually, ideally, for me, a first date starts at a bar or sporting event.
Coffee dates are literally the WORST.
Hold up freedom of speech.
The chick that stole most likely had a partner waiting outside his place with a bag waiting for stuff to be placed outside.
I LOVE Trader Joe's!! ❤️
Car rides vs. airplanes
Talking vs texting
Reading a book vs audio book listening
Public pool vs home pool
He should have made a u turn when she didn't answer the door! A fast-food dinner would have sufficed, and call it a night.
Lunch IS a date too.
Gummy candy or hard candy/ chocolate candy? Candy.
