I love watching people play Dark Souls for the first time. The jank is legendary, but it's fine. It's part of the charm. I think Dark Souls 2 was meant to feed some mental anguish demon, though.
@@CollectorDuckI think a lot of that phenomena is because most people don’t even look up in their daily life. How often does the average person look up at the clouds or the night sky? Not daily that’s for sure.

I played it the first time a long time ago like before i had any major brain function so my real first time playing it was probably about a year ago and now i pretty much only play souls games and elden ring
I recommend "No Rest for the Wicked". This game is still in Early Access but it really gives you that feeling of playing Dark Souls oll over again. Next game I want to try is "Bleak Faith: Forsaken" but I don't know, this game has issues with its gameplay.
Man I'm playing and discovering it right now and honestly fuck New Londo, and blight town, and the catacombs. At least the bosses are my style I like the slower pace of DS1. And usually games don't get any emotion out of me but DS1 definitely made me crack 😂
"like, why is there not a bonfire around here" Because you are ignoring the player messages. :D "I'm going to use my humanity to reverse hollowing. Yes. And then I'm gonna use one of these, and now my humanity's back to 1!" But... why?!!!
Actually, keep humanities floating(the numbers beside your health bar), it increases your Item Discovery, but its cap to ten humanities, more than that is just waste of Humanities... after that, only a ring will raise your ID. Good luck and, don't you dare go hollow...
@@GarryD94 As someone who doesn't much care for a large part of a certain endgame area, I would never spam item humanity just to have a lot of soft humanity. Anyway, especially on a first playthrough like this, having 10 estus instead of 5 seems to me to be a little more valuable than a minuscule boost to item discovery.
@Suesserto_000 I'm on my first NG+ run & when I got to the 4Kings (my most disliked fight in the game), I looked up the best weapon to use & kept seeing Quelaag's Furysword recommended so I tried it & died. Then I remembered about the humanity thing & popped 10 & killed them right away. The Gargoyle Halberd was what I beat them with on my first playthrough but that Furysword was super quick.
My favorite lore of the Dark Soul series is that.... the majority of your equipment you find, is on dead bodies on the ground. Those are the dead bodies of those adventurer's before you that played the game before you. This game represents the journey of the player, pushing forward, over and over, beating the game inch by inch. The dead bodies of adventurers you find that leave you with weapons and armor are their way of saying.... "we stoppped here, but you can go on. You can do it. You can achieve what we didnt. Keep trying and you can do it." This game is so good.
There's also this law of Dark Souls physics: items don't fall unless attached to dead bodies. So what does the guy in the undead asylum do? He throws a dead body at you.
DS1 taught me, along with my brother's guidance who is a fucking pro at Souls games, that using a shield when you're unsure with a boss is perfectly fine. If I recognize an attack, put the shield down and dodge then two hand reprise. If I don't, shield off some damage. Grass crest shield is always a must for me.
Here are some good dex weapons you can get pretty early: -Great Scythe in the catacombs -Balder Side Sword, it can be farmed from the balder knights in the undead parish church (1% drop rate) -Uchigatana, if you kill the undead merchant in undead burg, he drops the katana
Ah I love watching the new player experience of my favorite game of all time, brings back so many great memories. Meanwhile I'm screaming at the screen every time you miss any secret that is absolutely NOT obvious to a new player or when you don't understand the "obvious" complex systems that are completely unexplained to you by the game entirely (like kindling in your first video for example) 😂 Jokes aside I'm glad to see you're enjoying the game. Just 1 tip though, if you want to do all bosses in your first run make sure you look up where all of them are and how to access them BEFORE you fight the final boss because the game will send you straight to ng+ as soon as you beat the final boss. Same goes for accessing the DLC, it's convoluted to get to so you will most likely have to look up how to get to it before you fight the final boss. Other than that, good luck and enjoy this wonderful masterpiece.
Even if you do not use the shield as a shield you should equip the Grasscrest shield because it’s boosts your stamina regeneration when in your off hand or on your back
some bosses actually have summon signs in proximity to the fog door, the moon butterfly for example has beatrice as a summon, try turning human before entering the bosses 👍🏻
tip 1: use a shield with high stability tip 2: don't lock on if you plan to roll, there's only 4 directional rolling in ds1 but if you lock off you can roll in any direction tip 3: you use humanity to kindle the bonfire it gives you more estus.
Nice job taking out the Capra demon! That boss is a nightmare for dex builds. If you need to farm souls for weapon upgrades or levels you can trigger the dragon on the bridge to burn all of the guys up there, then reset at the bonfire down the ladder and repeat.
