To add more information to it, Pakistani society (when I say society I never mean the educated and liberal ones) accepts that Hinduism, Christianity are different ways of life. They seem to have no problem with these religions as such, even though Islam is the constitutional religion of Pakistan. When it comes to Ahmedis though, their view is that “you are claiming a different set of beliefs under the name of Islam.” Basically they are saying that “Your Islam doesn’t look like Islam to me”
Now here’s food for thought -
If a Saudi person saw the mainstream Islam in all of Indian subcontinent, they’ll think EXACTLY the same about Islam in the subcontinent as what Pakistani Sunni society thinks of Ahmedis.
