Thanks for watching! I still want a DX7.😅 Get King of FM FREE on iOS and macOS: apps.apple.com/us/app/king-of-fm/id1672644102 Correction: The DX7 came out in 1983. Thanks, Ferenc!
Thanks, Patrick! Your presets are awesome too! It's really cool you got to include your son in the process-that always make the work a bit more meaningful. Justice for Barb! 😄
Yeah, this one is so easy to choose a preset and go. I have the Arturia lite version that comes with Analog Lab. I heard something about the Arturia version using velocities between 0-100 like the original DX7 so there might be some setting for mapping the values from 0-127.
Just purchased the King Of FM app, and I’m having a great time playing with it. Your presets sound amazing, especially that 70s rock organ! Fixing to go check them out, thanks for making them! BTW, I was directed to your channel from the Audiokit website. Subscribing!
A fantastic open-source app indeed! Been using it for about a year now finding melody and song ideas on the go, in a train or on a bus. Respect to all the developers who made it happen! Bravo!
Can you do a small tutorial on the Sequencer? ....also I require Audiokit to do T-Shirts...as I require a Sega Synth running Fox dude....this is synth number 3 for me and there all brilliant ! thanks !
Haha, a SAGA Synth shirt would be awesome! As for the sequencer I'd suggest just starting with a preset that has a sequence running and start editing it to see how everything works. Marc Hupkens has some pretty wild sequences. He made that Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon on in SAGA Synth too.
No, it looks like the Main volume and Limiter are set with the preset. You could open the app in an AUv3 host app and set the master volume of the track there. Or once you have some instruments at a volume you like, you could save a new preset with those values.
After you stop the recording it should show a dialog where you can share the recording to different locations. If you share it to documents you can find that in the Files app. If that doesn't work, another thing to try is recording the app as an AUv3 inside of a mobile recording app like GarageBand.
For Logic Pro on Mac, you go up to the Logic Pro > Settings > Plug-In Manager. Then you can toggle the King of FM on and it should be listed with your other AU Instruments. It'll give you an annoying notification when you open Logic saying a plug-in isn't validated but that just means the app wasn't code signed for Mac. I hope that helps!
Thanks, @blood_n_guts_murphy! Once you've installed and ran the app on your Mac it should show up in Garageband automatically. It is unsigned for Mac which prevents it from showing up in Logic by default but I think it should be there for Mac. Create a software instrument, open the Plug-ins pull down in the bottom Track view, and change the instrument to AU Instruments > AudioKit > King of FM. If it doesn't show up go to Garageband > Settings > Audio, and check Enable Audio Units. Let me know how it goes!
Kinda mad I bought the dx from audio kit fm player crashes constantly but I put up with it cause it sounded good, now they updated a free ver was my secret weapon lol
@@mobypixel good 👍 stuff you have the same taste as me in music and one of my favorite people to watch when ya drop a vid I get excited ty for the hard work 😓
I bought the fm player 2 so I could use it in iMPC pro 2 , it crashes and when I load up my instrumental all the sounds are gone . I use fm king and it don’t crash and all the sounds stay in iMPC pro 2 . This free app solved all my issues and it’s free like wtf ???
King of FM should still be free unless they just changed it. Maybe you are seeing one of the other apps like King of Bass or King of Digital. Apple doesn't show the price of an app after it is purchased, but it says free on google search.

Stop cutting out natural pauses between your sentences, it makes you extremely irritating to listen to with a non-stop wall of words. Turn OFF the damn 'magnetic timeline' in your editor.
I actually edit those manually. I value people's time and find it more useful to get to the point quickly. It's not to everyone's taste and that's okay. I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for watching! I still want a DX7.😅

Absolutely insane that this is free, what a world
Haha, no doubt! Thanks for watching!

@@mobypixel well I’m glad SOMEBODY got that reference! 😂
I’m impressed. Sounds great and better than my Arturia version.

🙌 Folks, Big thanks to Moby Pixel! He was incredibly helpful with this and other AudioKit apps!
Thanks, Matthew! 🤝

That's awesome! Yeah, AudioKit has been killing it lately. Thanks for checking out the sound and subscribing!

Thanks @babonneau! Yeah, AudioKit Pro does amazing work with their apps.
Thanks so much for this overview. I learned a lot.
And get well soon.
Thanks, Alex! I'm downing Halls like candy.🍬
I use this in iMPC pro 2 as a audio unit plug in and it’s a deadly combo 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
That's awesome! This does feel like an app that'll live on my device for a long time.
Thanks. It sounds amazing.
I know right! Matthew put a lot of care into the samples.

This app sounds great. That said, is there any way to lock the master volume so I don't get blasted out of my chair when I switch to a new preset?
No, it looks like the Main volume and Limiter are set with the preset. You could open the app in an AUv3 host app and set the master volume of the track there. Or once you have some instruments at a volume you like, you could save a new preset with those values.
I cannot find where the recordings are being placed :(…

how do you use it in logic? i cant find a tutorial anywhere

Is there a version for Windows 10? I want to use it for FL Studio.
No, it's iOS and macOS only. For Windows, I'd recommend checking out Dexed. It's an free, open source FM synth plug-in.
Can I use this on fl studio in windows ?
No, this is iOS and macOS only. For Windows I would check out Dexed, a free DX7 plugin.
how can it be added to Garageband on a Mac? (great vid BTW)

i don't remember all the issues i had with DEXED but i bought KQDixie and i'm glad, it's a great app, can load all the DX7 sysex!
Thanks for watching! I like Dexed but the attack *pops* on some patches. I just saw that Tera Pro's FM IAP can load sysex on iOS.
😥 no windows?
No, unfortunately not. All the AudioKit stuff is built for iOS and Mac. If you're on Windows though check out Dexed. It's free and cross platform.
@@mobypixel thanks for your information

I grew up in that time of 80s. o yes it's the real deal sounds dead on like that time
Yeah, we just need a Juno synth app then we’ll be all set.😄
