Such a pleasure to talk with you Jakob. I hope to have you back on the podcast soon! Amazing work on this video. The tunes you have are so awesome! I want to hear an album of that stuff!
Brian, you’re very “soothing”. And that’s one of the best compliments ever. It’s just nice to hear you. Got a new follower/listener here. And thanks for the vhs!. Next time I’m jealous of those that have youth I’ll pity them for having never reminded a vhs tape!. Go 80’s!!
Just wanted to say I been messin w iPad audio as an extension of my Ableton setup, n therefore been following Haq for years, n just felt I had to hit up a comment section Of his to let him know how AMAZING he did on these VHS presets. I like lots of your work, but this time I was really blown away. when I went through all the pre’s, n went to check the ones I FAVd, it was about 90% Jakob’s stuff! Great job, truly reaching Guru status my brother! Cheers!
Awesome video, Jakob! Also, major *MAJOR* respect to Brian Funk for repeatedly - CORRECTLY - calling it Ableton Live. So many people simply call it “Ableton”, which drives me crazy. It’s like calling the car you drive “Ford”.
I reckon they’ve absolutely nailed this one. Fell in love with it as soon as I downloaded it. And I’m not even that sentimental about the 80s! And oh, I liked the music you put together for this vid, Jakob!
Really nice show Haq, very thorough. Your production values are really on par with any documentary film maker… Love you. iOS show on the history and evolution of iOS music apps. Audio Kit is a rockin’ outfit so classy and generous and VHS Synth is off the charts cool. Thank You for all you do for iOS music community
I became aware of VHS synth pre release, thanks to you Jakob. Overall, it's a decent app, that achieves its goals. However I feel several features been overlooked such as: Import your own samples! Arpeggiator would be great too! Oscilloscope view. Resize UI in portrait to Landscape. Maybe some in-app purchases to extend the apps life. I've been using VHS synth for ambient drones. The filter Harmonics and Heat and Auto-pan and two layer system make this an enjoyable app. Has a nice warble too!
Another cool AudioKit release. Jakob as always your videos rock! AudioKit’s Synth One when it was released was the first moment when my brain exploded. I had just bought my 2020 iPad, I bought it for writing and art, and then my life did a long overdue about face when it smacked me in the head, the iPad that is, and I realized that what I had always wanted to do musically I could do on my iPad. Synth One was the gateway, for good or evil, haha. Keep on doing what you are doing, brother. you are an inspiration Jakob (I love your voice by the way). Have a great weekend!
Your videos are always cool and I believe they help a lot of People. Your opinions and points of view are Very important, at least for me. Your Music is Not Shitty, You Have a Very Good Musical Taste! Just bought VHS Synth. :) It would Be Amazing if it could have more layers and a sequencer like the one from an Alesis Micron/Akai MINIAK, it has multiple parts/patterns with different Arps/sequences to a max of 16 Bars for each layer/part. I'm always dreaming with this! Keep On the Incredible Work!
I wonder if younger people will get this. What a rush of uplifting nostalgia!. 80’s rule. Lovely video as always, you’re a star 🙌 BTW: for thos falling in love with this VHS synth I highly recommend “Lo-fi tape” synth which is the same spirit and very much complementary. You should do a video on that one!.
Bought it! Thanks for bringing this under my attention! Good luck with your channel! I am a fan! I am going to find myself a good Bluetooth keyboard…what can you recommend? I prefer very low latency of course, because I am a finger drummer too!
Most BLE keyboards have very low latency these days so there’s a lot to choose from. It depends on what you need really. I myself have used the same keyboard for years now and it’s not for everyone. Review here: ruclips.net/video/xFcTp7dCVCI/видео.html I know a lot of Finger drummers that go for AKAI controllers too.
Fantastic app, only issue is that garageband won't recognise it in the interapp folder, does anyone know why it's not turning up there? do I need to do something in vhs app settings?
Thanks for the overview - but I don't see the sequencer options in the app. I'm only seeing VHS SYNTH in the top left corner. Do you have any info on this? Maybe this feature is coming soon? Thanks!
Interesting idea using VHS tapes to make LoFi tape recordings. I used to use video tapes to record music at events (no video) when I did a little DJ'ing, or just making a multi-hour long mix tape of club/house music when it would not fit on a 90-minute cassette tape. The higher quality Betamax tapes I used (in the '80s) and VHS tapes (in the '90's) sounded pretty good compared to cassette tape, even recording at the slower speeds - 6 hours on a single VHS tape. I still have the Betamax and VHS recorders I used, but they probably have multiple issues and need service before I would insert a tape in them today.
I’m here in the comments for the answer to this question as well!! Sounds like a top secret Pre Pre Alpha iOS drum app that only Jakob is privy to at this time! Please let us know when you can Mr Haq!
Haq needs to do AudioKit demos and intros because the one that AudioKit did for VHS Synth was a real piece of trash. Thanks Haq, yours was much better.
Go get “synth-waved”

I got it, amazing sound, yet so simple!
And yes your voice is amusing 😂
Thanks Jakob
I bought VHS Synth immediately after I got the Tweet from Matthew Fecher and AudioKit Pro. It’s a really genius sample based synthesizer. Very cool!
I brought it before the video finished! Love it

You guys did an amazing job on this one!
I picked this up today, no-brainer, brilliant sounds! Your presets are awesome, Jakob!
A definite no-brainier indeed! Happy you like my sounds! 👊
It Was an instant buy for me, been messing with it all day. Really think this will be in my work flow for a minute.

Awesome, radical, bodacious, excellent
Great video editing! I like the colors you've been using recently on your vids
Thank you for the feedback, highly appreciated! 👊
Nice one Jakob- I like your presets~in all the synths
Thank you! 👊
Its a fun synth. A little simple for a rompler but im a fan of audiokit and Brian Funks so had to pick it up.
Ooh yeah, BoC style. I’m all over this.
Yes Sir
is it cpu heavy?

Second that, Lo-fit tape is killer! 👊
Neat, gotta have it
Thank you for the presentation. I will look at this a little closer. It is sad that they didn’t include some sort of arpeggiator.
It’s really good. Sorry, 4:48am, vocab dried up. Droopy eyelids, gotta try just one more patch, man…
I’ve bought it and rated it in the App Store. I think it’s unusual and very good.
The 80s are back
. Yeah man😊
Yeah!! It’s back with a vengeance and it’s more dissonant and wobblier than ever! 👊
Does it record knob automation properly inside cubasis?
And yet another iPadOS app that developer decided NOT to be available on Mac M1 :(
Why!11
Got that Moog realistic synth, am now considering giving it some serious damage

Needs a pitch bend and modulation wheel
Fantastic app, only issue is that garageband won't recognise it in the interapp folder, does anyone know why it's not turning up there? do I need to do something in vhs app settings?
VHS Synth is an AUv3 app, so you’ll have to load it through AUv3 menu in GarageBand. It’s does. It does not support IAA.
awesome
How in the world can you save a present to a User Bank ? Incredible synth - I am tsking my MS2000 off the rack - This has such as vibe.
not sure if this has been addressed yet, but... is this only available for apple devices?
Thanks for the overview - but I don't see the sequencer options in the app. I'm only seeing VHS SYNTH in the top left corner. Do you have any info on this? Maybe this feature is coming soon? Thanks!
I bought this synth and it’s not showing up in Cubasis 3 inter-app list. Any help would be appreciated
It’s an AUv3 plugin.

I love this app so much. Instant fun. Man this is super useful for me. Killer video Jakob. Your contributions are fantastic. Thank you. 💙⚡⚡⚡🎛🎚
Have fun with VHS Synth and thank you for the praise! 🥰
whats the daw that you are using in the video?
Cubasis! 👍
Thank you for this video. Question. Can you midi learn the knobs in the app?
You should be able to! Let us know if it’s not working for you? - Matthew from AudioKit
@@analogmatthew works perfect. Great app. Thanks!!
I guess as a tool to come up with ideas and what not, or just to mess around when I'm bored and away from the studio it's worth the $4.
Other audio kit apps crash when I plug in a midi controller , I hope this app is the exception.
Hey Jakob, which Drums did you use for the video?
I’m sorry but I cannot talk about the drums at this time. I have no idea when but I’ll be able to sometime in the future though so stay tuned. 😉

I wanna hit that thumbs down😈 , but your content is too good👾, Gr8 work Jakob, keep it up.
Is it Windows version?
Windows? Windows? Are you new to this stuff?
Or you been licking 9V battery terminals?
.....and it's not 9.99 a month like other VHS video filters😶
