I just did this myself. Had the employee at the parts store help me install them. Basically I held the hatch up while he replaced took off the right side and I did the left. I went with ones that are meant for the Volkswagen Beetle with spoiler. Those give you an extra couple of inches when the hatch is opened. But after seeing the ones you got they cost about $5-10 more. Great job doing it all by yourself :)
Well done. Wish you all the luck. As a female mechanic I know your fear and doubt well. But you learn along the way and when you look back at it you will smile. I’ve a Honda CRV so if you need any help just ask.
My hatchback doesn't stay open on my Grand Caravan. I bought a manuel on ebay and watched yt videos. I have the parts on my ebay wish list. I'm going to be attempting this same repair. You're probably smarter than most grease monkeys. I plan on learning more about my van before I go out again, don't want to rely on others.
I totally hear you on not wanting to rely on others. But, I'm so much less smart than people who work on cars for a living. In fact, I've realized 2 major goofs I made in this fix that are causing problems. I'll fix them and make another video showing how I did it. But if you take no action, you learn very little - right?
A mallet would have been helpful to knock it in place. But great job! I have to do mine. Pat yourself on the back, you only need one hand for that fortunately.
Yes, a mallet WOULD have been helpful to knock it in place! But I figure it's better to do it than to put it off cuz I don't have all the perfect tools. Thanks for the encouragement, Courtney!
@mylifeinavan You've encouraged me. It's so inconvenient not being able to get into the back of the van. I'm getting ready for van life and moving, you're definitely an inspiration.
Right on!! What a great message, keep up the good work!
THANK YOU!!!

@Staetik, thanks so much! What you did was super resourceful too. You didn't pay someone to do it for you, right?
@@mylifeinavan not at all, he offered. Took less than ten minutes.
Auto part store often offer to install certain parts like batteries and wiper blades :)

@byfunkyoud2917 I so appreciate your understanding and encouragement. Where are you? I'd LOVE to have a female mechanic working on my car.
Definite gasp when the hatch fell down! I'm trying to develop the courage to try new things with my minivan.
Yes, that was not too smart. Think my angels were watching out for me on that one.

@mylifeinavan I don't believe for a second that an auto mechanic is more intelligent than you are.
