The one freaking time I don't get notifications ! Makes me feel better after your review. I never had second thoughts about B2 Dusk. Should be here tomorrow ...
Thank you for the review! I’m a big fan of neutral sound and really enjoy my DT770 Pro X. However, I’m also in the market for a pair of IEMs. I’m curious-is the Blessing 3 still your favorite IEM as of now (November 2024)?
Just got the Blessing 3...already own the dusk and OG Blessing...completed the trinity:). Maybe I'm missing something but I don't find much different about the Blessing 3. It really doesn't feel at all like a upgrade. In fact the OG Blessing 2 intimacy is better than the Blessing 3 and a little more body and yes the blessing 3 is too lean. And when you are talking about the dusk.....the dusk is clearly better. It a little of a let down but I shouldn't be surprised with how great the Blessings have been, it's hard to be make something almost perfect , perfect sometimes.
As a Dusk owner, I'm pretty astonished at how well they're standing the test of the new market saturation especially at the lower price points. I simply stopped shopping for IEMs after I picked them up. They're nigh-on perfection with my tonal preferences, and still sound absolutely incredible even after owning them for a good while. They might even be considered the IEM version of the HD600s IMO -- just an all-around headphone that sounds good with everything and has extremely good detail without sounding overly dry or analytical. Such a superbly balanced IEM, and I don't see myself upgrading for a long, long time.
The B3 has just come out at the strangest time it possibly could. Measurements of the B3 rolled out on crin's database at the exact same time as the new B&K measurements, which has led to the discovery (and adoption) of the DF 0.8/oct tilt target. The B3 measures amazingly to the old target, but literally 1 week later IEF 2023 releases, exposing the lower mids/bass scoop of the old target, and thus the B3. Edit: not to mention the super review target has had a downslope for a long while lol.
I don't think the new IEF neutral target represents Crinacle's preferred sound. Compare Blessing 3 graph with the new Project Red that Crin has been working on.
Doesn't moondrop tune to their own VDSF target? Or whatever they call it... I don't think they care as much about meeting reviewer measurements with B3; they have their own 5128 rig anyway and don't need to wait for Crin. More likely they're waiting for a retune like Dusk to match Crin's targets more closely
I do have one question: I just realized that Softears is a sister company of Moondrop and the two IEMs that are on my short list are the Studio 4 and the Blessing 3. Both of these IEMs measure exactly the same from 20Hz to around 3Khz with just minor variances above that. Considering that the Studio 4 is roughly $130 more expensive than the Blessing 3, and they both have roughly the same FR, is it worth getting the S4? As much as I lust after it, I would prefer saving some money by getting the B3 IF it has the same general sonics of the S4
I'm very much considering these two, but at least based on the graph the S4 seems to be just slightly less forward, which is veeeeeery close to my own target. I would consider slightly eq-ing to what their rough balances are and see if it makes a huge difference for you (as long as you have any other iem that has been graphed by the same person for that comparison)
Really on your preference, to me B3 is more energetic and lean compared to a bit relax and little bit fuller sound on Studio4. To me Studio4 is the slightly more neutral & balance than B3, also Studio4 fits my ears better. Can't go wrong on both 👍
I had to buy another cable because the one that comes with the B3s is awful. I liked the one that came with the Arias more. I absolutely love the neutrality of it, for me, sterility is amazing.
If it's too clinical and sterile for him it's definitely going to be so for me. I like a mild mid bass bump that doesn't bleed and yet have a slow rise to a very strong Sub bass. No sub bass is a no go for me. Mids for me should be mildly subdued for me. In Metal, which I mainly listen to, mids and mid highs are already boosted. Vocals are already forward to cover the depth and power that the guitars are punching out. Many many IEMs don't do metal well. For that matter, most audiophile gear can't really play Metal well as it's just all to flat and neutral. You take a band like Tool, which is the most accessible and fairly dynamic of bands goes from quiet and moody to crushing and tonely dense in a heartbeat. Neutral systems will do the quiet and moody and well and utterly fail on the Crunchy and dense areas as they can't handle the dissonance that distortion dense guitars and bass can produce a long with simultaneously dealing with the speed, tamber and accuracy required for the drums. You don't want a V shaped signature, you want a lazy rise in mid bass to a high subbass and a sort of mildly dark 2k to 8k with peaks in the 11k and 14k and maybe 18k.
I can tell you these are so clean. The bass is very good quality. Tight and snappy and can rumble when called upon. It could probably use 2 db boost and these would be the perfect iems
I don't think it's going to be a fair comparison, but I have to ask; as they were both given 5 stars do you prefer the Moondrop S8 or Blessing 3 sound more?
So much talk about the springiness of the Blessing 3, and yet it didn't come with Spring Tips...perhaps they've become fused with the Blessing 2 to create the Blessing 3.
I don't get why they're already saying there will be a Dusk version. Wasn't the B:2 Dusk created as an alternative with a slightly different tune as some people found the bass a bit lacking and the upper mids a bit harsh (or something like that)? A B:3 Dusk sounds to me like, "We're going to fix that minor blemish that Super*Review pointed out and tweak it a bit more as we're not entirely happy." 😀
Crinacle himself made a video stating he won’t be reviewing the blessing 3 purely because he is working with them on a collab. As such, he basically kicked off people talking about B3 dusk and holding off on buying it before it really could take off.
Damn, been hearing so many good impressions about the cadmus. I have the Eros S and it's fantastic, don't know if I should bite the bullet and buy another effect audio cable 😂
Do you know if the blessing 3 uses the same BA drivers as the blessing 2? I think Crinacle contributed the treble insufficiency for the blessing 2 + blessing 2 ducks to the limitations of the BA drivers - but it's not present at all in the Blessing 3. I also preferred the sound of the B2 over the B2Dusk despite my preference for darker sound tonalities with headphones 🤷🏽 Luckily the B3 also responds well to EQ though its base sound signature is excellent.
Which IEMs would you recommend with tuning for older classic rock? I've found the Timeless with a small EQ tweak good (and I don't even have foam tips on them). I have the B2D and I love it for most music but Stairway doesn't sound that amazing on it. Also the B2D is a completely different thing based on volume. I usually listen pretty low. I boosted the B2D to the upper end of what I call comfortable and it went from OK to WOW.
I don't really make genre-based generalizations, but if listening to music without much sub-bass content (and older recordings are often lacking this moreso than newer recordings), having a set with fuller mid bass will usually work better than an all sub-bass focused boost.
How is the B3's Treble compared to the S8 ? Does the improvement in its treble over B2 put it on par with S8 level, or is it more like Variations treble ?

Every IEAM head ear phone¹²³ now are perfect just search what your ear prefer as laptop, phone, smartphone are all maturing now everything just a gimmick that makes people have refresing feeling blablabla
Blessing 3 actually has a deep, rumbly and textured bass, you just have to plug it in a more powerful source or switch to balance or high gain. I myself thought that B3 will sound similar to my Yume Ultra, it has a very similar FR curve, but oh boy I was wrong, B3 sounded more balanced compared to my Yume Ultra which has a lean, neutral bright presentation, B3 sounded really different. It is far from lean sounding, it has this deep, rumbly, subwoofer like bass to it. Only con for me that I noticed with B3 is it's narrow-ish sound stage.
The Dusk will have better bass and body. This is why they are made in the first place. You are incorrect in saying that the Blessing 3 Dusk won't improve on that front.

so i listen to edm and hip hop and rap and soul. is this a good iem for these genres?
No! Look for a good bass tuned iem.
Wait for dusk if you are set on the blessing 3 it’ll be more bass focused. Or look elsewhere. The crin zero red editon just dropped. Could be a decent option for a fraction of the price, I wish I had some recommendations around the same price point but the blessing is all I know 😂
What eartips is used for Orchestra lite??
Fiio's new ear tips.
Why the cable not included mic 😩😩😩
It's a 2-pin IEM, you can get a cable with a mic separately. Personally I don't like mics on my cables 🤢
Hi Mark, I bought my first iems (Moondrop Blessing 3) and I really like them in terms of design, fit and sound. In particular, like you, I love neutral, crystal clear sound with dry, fast and powerful bass. I've already wanted to buy more and I'm in two minds between the Moondrop Variations and the Moondrop S8. Do you think it's worth it? Is there a significant difference with the Blessing 3, in your opinion? Thanks in advance and congratulations for your videos!
How do you rate the comfort out of 10? How long could u wear it
@@badguy7432 I would sai 9. Very comfortable for my “medium” size ears.
@@badguy7432 2/3 Hours without any problem

LOL LOL LOL
you pay so much only for tuning that you can tune how the sounds work. Every IEAM head ear phone¹²³ now are perfect just search what your ear prefer as laptop, phone, smartphone are all maturing now everything just a gimmick that makes people have refresing feeling blablabla
about the loose fit after time on the tips..i have exactly the same problem with truthear HEXA(coincedence)...
Hype. Hype. Hype.
Have a decent no. of IEMs. Have a good system. I am downsizing . Any advice?
Please reply.
Rank what you own and sell what you don't need?
The Dusk will have better bass and body. This is why they are made in the first place. You are incorrect in saying that the Blessing 3 Dusk won't improve on that front.
You are incorrect that that is anything I said.
5 stars but I still prefer the Blessing 2 lol
why
imaging a moondrop Super Blessing with a small form factor and ssr tunning
You’re very blessed
True.
As usual no bass. It needs bass I hope there is an updated model like dusk with more bass.
Cant u just bass boost ?
B3 or variations ?
These or studio 4
