    Travis was such a champ in this episode. Immediately taken out of combat but still so involved, engrossed, and supportive of everyone above game, including Matt. He could’ve been salty and just left the table after getting absolutely BODIED, but he happily stuck around. Love him.

    This fight was probably the most uncomfortable I've been watching CR. Seeing the frustration, the resignation and the sorrow set in on everyone's faces; still not knowing ifnthey should try to run or fight it out. Every moment that a ray of hope would shine in, she would immediately snuff it out.
    And then there's Travis, giddy as can be watching it all unfold and having the time of his life. Never change, Travis.

      Matt had been walking a TPK tightrope with them for 9 years. After those 9 years, he took the gloves off and said, "fuck it we ball."
      And on a sidenote, Imogen should have called for Lilliana the moment she killed Chetney in one turn. It would have taken several rounds for her to show up, and she might have made a huge difference and FCG wouldn't have had to sacrifice himself.

      In character - if she knows they have revivify, she might have been going for taking out multiple PCs per round instead of killing blows. The two attacks it takes to kill a downed PC could also knock out a second one.

    • @arkham7033
      @arkham7033 4 месяца назад +5

      @@malrok5452 But I think it’s because he continued to spread out attacks that the damages did not stack up. Otohan tunneled and prioritized Chetney here and if Matt hadn’t allowed his own rules and allowed FCG to switch spells without a long rest would Chetney have been officially dead. Spreading attacks dwindles the significant effect that Otohan was meant to represent in a normal story. I know it’s their story and I 100% accept that the result is what it is. I just think Matt got a little worried and pulled a chord. And that is something I can also understand because these are his family.

    • @arkham7033
      @arkham7033 4 месяца назад +3

      @@PVS3 If Otohan knew they had revivify and is also aware of the abilities of her second form then she would never have gone after anyone except for people who HAD revivify. That stops the potential for being brought back and healing altogether. No one had sentinel so opportunity attacks would not have stopped her from moving and tunneling FCG or Fearne. Now, I do know Ashton has some weird gravity thing, but, once again, a homebrew character that we as the audience do not know the rules about. Otohan killed three of their members last time. Not knocked out, but killed. She started by killing in her weaker form and then switched. To me it doesn’t make sense knowing these people are a threat to “the master plan”.

      She basically had the mechanical equivalent to the Mythic Ascension stuff from Fizban's, which I think would be doable if they were one level higher and more prepared for another fight after their respective tasks. What I don't like is that the encounter was effectively unavoidable. Ashton was the only one who could possibly help them avert the encounter in the moment and had a couple really good ideas, but none of it mattered-- Matt wanted them to fight her no matter what.
