I don't know much about music, but this speaks to me - the tones, the discordant sounds, how it is woven together in a fabulously atmospheric and lyrical way. I don't know much about music, but I know this is a masterpiece.
@VandaLika Nobody knew them in 2001 in France (Route du rock). It was their first big gig, not their best performance but I'm pretty sure the crowd enjoyed the show ;)
I think the band will move on without Carlos. He was a key part of the band, but at least for me, the best thing about interpol is that they always did made music because it was what they loved to do, as a musician this is huge for me in my bands as well. Every album they changed their sound and every time some fans said, "this is worse now" but they've always been willing to try new things out and I think Carlos' departure will inspire them to experiment even more. We'll miss you Mr Dengler.
+Teddy Westside I think that was not part of the original song lyrics. It sure seems missing something at that part, I'm glad they added more lyrics in the 2002 release
I like how quiet and motionless the audience is, i hate moshpits and stuff, i love to enjoy the music and be totally happy and watch the band being awesome ._. that's one cool thing about interpol, their music isn't made for violent dancing styles
Who knew one fucking string being played in and out of tune would sound so fucking good!!
quite clearly the greatest bassline of all time
This song is a masterpiece, I wonder how they could create such a genius composition
I saw you in two videos of this song
And yes, such a genius composition

03:30 I'M CRYIN OK I THINK A DRUNK DEMON FINALLY CAME OUT OF PAUL AND SANG THIS PART FOR HIM
I don't know much about music, but this speaks to me - the tones, the discordant sounds, how it is woven together in a fabulously atmospheric and lyrical way. I don't know much about music, but I know this is a masterpiece.

"Bonsoir, merci, nous sommes Interpol."
@VandaLika Nobody knew them in 2001 in France (Route du rock). It was their first big gig, not their best performance but I'm pretty sure the crowd enjoyed the show ;)

one day we'll live together
life will be better
dude, looove it!
3:18-3:47 should be in a scene of a movie with someone getting murdered. So creepy.
I think the band will move on without Carlos. He was a key part of the band, but at least for me, the best thing about interpol is that they always did made music because it was what they loved to do, as a musician this is huge for me in my bands as well. I had no idea they played this by detuning their guitars
Adam me neither I was just alternating strings and like pulling Hahahahah wow
A lot of bands decide to take on faster tempos in their live versions of songs. I'm quite sure this is what happened here.
it's french: "bon soir...interpol"
"good evening ?? interpol" :)
Los gritos de Paul jaja cool !
awesome
@Atsanac thanks a lot man.
x2 ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ yeah
@petmay13 Good evening, thank you, we are Interpol. =D
Too real
Oh this end !!!
I'd like to be the microphone...
I like this version the most...mainly cuz the song was different [lyrics wise] than what they put on TOTBL
SAM SO AWESOME =D INTERPOL IS AWESOME
What a badass fucking song
I taaaaaaaake a lot from you.... they didn't sing that part!!
I was disappointed when Paul just skipped that! I love the way he sings that part.
+Teddy Westside I think that was not part of the original song lyrics. It sure seems missing something at that part, I'm glad they added more lyrics in the 2002 release
Marty McKay yeah, I learned that later when I heard their demos. I'm also glad they added lyrics.
You're looking alright tonight
I think we should go
31216 very freaking intelligent people.
Where's Daniel wtf
show
სველი ვარ!!
also the fact of they been drunk make the song Unique!
Son una eminencia y aun mas paul banks
What does Paul say in the beginning?
Que esperabas! Estaba ebrio!
@Bramass ok, so can we be friends then (:
Se equivoco. Entro mucho despues Paul.
estaba borracho xD
Baby, know someday you'll slow.
I like how quiet and motionless the audience is, i hate moshpits and stuff, i love to enjoy the music and be totally happy and watch the band being awesome ._. that's one cool thing about interpol, their music isn't made for violent dancing styles
seems like the song is hard on pauls voice
Water
why didnt they sing you’re looking alright tonight i think we should go….anticlimax :(
They're drunk aren't they?
Bruh...he didn’t sing all the lyrics...
only without appropriate vocal )
gosh he was so drunk lol
@dradfromthebu True, I just like to make people angry so they can react like idiots on the internet.
no solo el bajeo, las guitarras desafinadas la bateria tan cambiante todo es perfecto
absolutely dead crowd during this interval. unbelievable!
Stop saying Carlos needs to come back! they are doing fine
Una persona no sabe lo que escucha!!
One of my favourite songs but not a great version. Skipping lyrics, no clear bass, weak crowd. Have to dislike this.
@lewj27 he gets down like hardcore!
