Dear Nordman , I did my military service when I was young, after the military service I felt like a real person and a Turk. Today I am 63 years old, if I am called to the army again, I will go voluntarily. I have always been proud of my country and my nationality.

Ne bilsin askerlerimizin o dağlarda hala şu an bile teröristlerle savaştığını hemen her gün şehit verdiğimizi...
I, as a Turkish commando, have experienced these events myself. To die for the Turkish soldier is just to smile, and war means a wedding. For the Turkish soldier, war or death is not a problem at all. The important thing is the Turkish state.
In this story, the soldiers at the military post knew that they would be supervised by their commander. But the commander not only came the night before, he caught the soldier on duty while he was sleeping. Together with a few soldiers with him, he captured the entire outpost together with his commanders without firing a single shot. That's why he was angry.
AMAN ALLAHIM ! This mistake from the guards could perhaps have cost the lives of all the other soldiers there if the commander had not gone there! This is a fatal mistake that definitely shouldn’t be!
@@SeliKast This is based on a real attack. the 1992 raid where they attacked the taşdelen post and killed almost every one of our soldiers in there. They danced on the helipad, they shot the Ataturk sculpt, and they killed the commander on duty. There were videos of it on youtube many years ago but it got taken down. The armory blew up from their heavy fire. They kidnapped 2 soldiers too, nobody has heard of them to this day. They took down the turkish flag too.
This scene is actually a scene from real life. In fact, it is also related to Finland. There was a disagreement between Türkiye and Finland regarding the PKK terrorist organization. PKK has carried out hundreds of terrorist acts in the mountains and cities of Turkey for 40 years. Most of his actions in the mountains were outpost raids. They would raid the outposts mostly at night and kill our soldiers. The biggest reason for this was that some of the soldiers who were on guard at night were sleeping. Here in this video, the soldier who was sleeping in one of those outposts got scolded from her commander.
Typical Turkish POV. When i was a soldier in duty i already heard this multiple times. As a note I was a solider In Agri, mount Ararat. Respect to our Holy Turkish Army. We have a title for this " Every Turk born as a soldier" No matter what man or woman, everyone.
You believe it or not as a Turk every time i watch this i cry. You might wonder why because i went trough smiler situation in that area many years ago.
He does not say they will be dead, he is playing them the scenario where they all died because the soldier fell asleep during his watch. He keeps saying "You are dead" because your brother-in-arms fell asleep during his watch. In the end, he says; "you will die if you fall asleep. If you fall asleep, you will all die."
I liked your reaction. Actually most people watch this scene in amazement but finns like you understand the weight of this scene quite well. Greetings to you and your country, who love their country like turks ❤
I did my military service in the east. I spent one month in the mountains during terrorist operations. My team commander stepped on a mine and was killed. a friend of mine lost both legs and the other friend lost a leg. these are all real..
I agree with Bora. Anyone who knows WW2 has respect for Finnish soldiers' bravery and their sacrifices for homeland. We Turks see you as equals on that subject.
This scene is about the watch guards, caught sleeping by the commander. And this kind of speech is very real in Turkish army. I know, I served and I've been in some of the most dangerous posts. Respect to these guys. Thank you for sharing.
Greetings to Finland from Türkiye. Fin people is smart, hardworking and honourable people. And it is also said that Fins are also Altaic so they are relative of us. And last of all salute the hero Simo Hayha and his gr8 nation.
Türkey has been fighting the world's most organized terrorist organization for the last 40 years...Similar events happening here are 100 percent real...Many Turks who had to do compulsory military service in the terrorist zone experienced this...And Turkish soldiers developed counter guerrilla tactics against the enemy fighting with Guerilla tactics..The Turkish army gained a lot of experience in this war..It is currently one of the most successful regular armies in guerrilla warfare in the world
We are here to die. Our life is finite but our Türkiye is for infinity! You will never see a nation who calls a war a wedding, for us war is not the end of the world but a shortcut to heaven! Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene! ❤️🇹🇷❤️
@@JanneNordman Its a way of life, strong or not we inherited the Turkish Republic with the blood of our grandfathers. Hello there! Thank you for reacting this. This scene based on a real story. This movie represent the year 1993. That's the year which Turkey dealt with the terrorist group called PKK. They are always prepared for ambushes because their numbers were small compared to our soldiers. So one day when the guards supposed to be in their watch guard for one of the stations which sided by a cliff, they fall asleep. And because they did all of the other commrades died. This scene is a re-creation of that. Also when the commander faces directly for the camera and shouts "If you sleep everyone dies" is for the everyone watching this movie because at the time even common folk was fighting with the PKK on their own. So it was a massage to all of the people. Again thank you so much for reacting this. I'm happy to see other culture's reactions ❤ Hope you have a good day/noon/night ^^
Respect from Turkey, as a SAR Volunteer when I heard your regards and respect to Hatay, I said ''he's the guy''. Also; This film was inspired from the ambush of Aktütün Gendarme Commando Station that happened in 2008. In the same year as I know, one of my cousins went to Aktütün as a Sniper-Classified Commando. They completed their Operation and went back to their main base, all he said is ''All I felt was a shot from my brain when I heard the martyrs and the ambush.''
I remember watching this movie in the cinema with my father. We entered the saloon with happy faces expecting an action movie and exited with a sullen mood. I vividly remember the disturbing silence between us while descending the escalator.

@@JanneNordman My friend, I think you have interpreted the breath movie scene well, but let me summarize the subject. There has been a war with terrorists in our country for years and they always sneak up on their positions and kill soldiers. In this scene, too, the commander caught a sleeping soldier in the position and explained what could happen when he slept, giving examples from families one by one.
As a Turkish citizen who made his military duty this is nothing but daily pressure in the Turkish army. I couldn't remember my mother's face after I returned my duty some lady hug me at the airport and I assume she was my mom. This is all because they made us believe that we wouldn't not return home back and after a while we all accepted our faith, it was like we born that site we didn't have a life before and won't be after there. I still consider sometimes that I should die at conflict.
@@JanneNordman He's exaggerated.... Okay, the motivation during the military service concentrates too much on you... I accept that..Because for quite a while after my military service, I said to my boss I am COMMAND...But this reviewer is over exaggerating...
I recommend you to watch this whole movie. There's a reason why he's so angry in this scene. They crossed a road to get to this station quickly and his best friend was martyred there. When he arrived at the military station, he caught the guard asleep. He saw that the soldiers he had come to support were sleeping and thought that his friend had been martyred for nothing. Also, this movie is a true story with some parts changed. The commander who made this speech in real life is still alive, his name is Mete Yarar. But the whole movie isn't his story, it's just this scene.
Perfect choice. I love Nefes movie and this sceen. Your reacts are so awefull like everytime. So nice to see you again after too much time, my brother. I collected so many video links (movies, musics, etc) to show you for react. But I won't be hastily. I will spread it over time. Take care of you.

Hello, there have been real-life situations where terrorists attacked and killed all the soldiers in a military outpost due to a soldier sleeping on duty, which made the commander angry. Therefore, a soldier sleeping on guard duty can mean the death of all the soldiers. The commander is explaining this while the soldier who is sleeping with his head down.
The original officer who made this speech (This scene and speech is real!) is (Former Major - Retired) Mete Yarar. He is now a defense analyst who commonly joins to tv programs about military and political topics.
I love the way you reacted to this. You clearly have experience and understand the discipline in the military. You're also very respectful, just very cool.
(9:17) Not because of war preparations. A guard falls asleep on duty at the border post. He explains that he will be killed by terrorists who raided the ward while other soldiers were sleeping, and the situation their families will experience later.
@@SkyHero66The name of the actor who plays the captain in the movie is Mete Horozoğlu. Retired Special Forces Major Mete Yarar told in a television program that he had a very similar memory.

Frinds, let me share a little information about Finnish people, if you think that being Turkish is based on ethnicity, I suggest you to study the ethnic history and language of the Finnish people. Just like Koreans and Japanese speak a language that comes from a common ancestor with us, Finns speak a language that comes from this common ancestor. Of course, as with any nation, there has been westernization and some assimilation and some cultural integration. There is also the fact that there are tens of thousands of years of isolation, but the blood and ancestry of a nation always plays a very big role for that nation, the blood you embrace is always much more valuable than the blood you have. Remember that it is not skullclassism or what percentage of our DNA is Turkish DNA that makes us Turks. Even if we only carry 1% Turkish blood as individuals, it is the heritage we embrace/care for rather than the blood we have that makes us who we are. Finns are an exceptionally honorable people, stuck amongst peoples where attrocities are commited towards innocents, and they are exceptionally tough and strong, surviving between a rock and a dark place for ages alone proves this fact. Salutations to you Janne!
Dear Fatih, thank you for that writing. You all keep surprising me with your kindness and neighborliness. It’s again a joy to make some videos for you and I hope you’ll find some entertainment watching. Have a fantastic day brother 😊
i am glad that people entertain and compare this with other fiction))) but this shit is real.... this specific event actually happened.....ofcourse it is a move and things dramatised in its own way.. but what you see in the movie is a mirror of soldiers and their services. anymen who did his service can feel have memories in every second of the movie.
you misunderstood the soldier who was on guard duty fell asleep at his post... in Turkey there are outposts in the terrorist areas to protect the base early on and the soldier fell asleep and that's deadly in the area, unfortunately, you can imagine that hard to imagine in Europe spoiled by security!
Each emotion could diverse to different feelings of action depending to the level of understanding. We are all from different locations grownup in different environments based on religion, education, society but lets be honest turks have written a massive empire story in the history. magnificent video translator ❤❤
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Indeed, we all see things through "sunglasses" that has different filters on depending on how and where did we grew up, and what life has thrown against us while growing up.
The original speech belongs to a Turkish soldier named Mete Yarar, who served in the Turkish Special Forces. He now has a youtube channel, writes for Hürriyet Newspaper and participates in news channels
I am the deputy commander of the police station in such a place. Our police station was raided the day after the earthquake last year. A mortar landed about two meters away from me and I was lucky it didn't explode. Clashes continued from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Half of our police station was destroyed by mortars. 2 of our soldiers were martyred. 6 of the terrorists were killed with air support. This movie you watched has almost the same tone as what we experienced.
Dear Janne , Finnish and Turkish people are close to each other. I know as you mentioned how heroic you fought in WWII against Soviets. Finnish and Turkish have a similar logic architecture of their languages putting suffixes at the end of the words. You can express this way in Finnish and Turkish with one word so much whereas you would need in Swedish or German etc. A whole sentence with many words etc.
When i was a soldier commanders are always say : İf anybody makes a mistake we will act like all of you did it. Because if one part of chain broke all chain damages.
What's going on with us is much more than that. We have thousands of stories that tear us apart. Our motivation is that we see dying for our land, our family and our nation as an honor and the highest rank in the sight of God. this is our strength. you could feel this feeling. You are a good and emotional man. I'm following you from now on.
I'm mostly a pacifist British Turk I just want to see peace.... but this reminded me of the bravery of Ataturk that Turks regard closer than their own fathers. On the one hand I admire such bravery on the other I'm for love even your enemy like the respect Ataturk gave for the fallen enemy after Gallipoli. "Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well." ~ Mustafa Kemal Ataturk
I am 47 years old. My mother had died, and 30 days later I voluntarily went to the military. (My father wanted me to. He must have thought I would come back before he died.) My father had cancer. He died while I was in the war on terror. I returned from the military and my friend who introduced me to my wife died in a traffic accident at the age of 24. My father-in-law died. It all happened within 18 months. While I was living by the sea, suddenly I was in the mountains. Yes, some of my friends were also martyred. When we first went, bombs were exploding everywhere... The commander said this. You are dead now, you have no mother, no father, no siblings anymore. You don't have a spouse and children...If they surpass you, it will never happen. You will not allow terrorists to land in the cities. You are dead, write your wills. There was a 26-year-old lieutenant. Allied guards shot him at night. They said it was an accident. That week we killed 5 terrorist snipers. 1 terrorist was from that region. Sometimes the soldier would sleep, the terrorist would cut his throat, sometimes he would leave his position and be hurled at him. Sometimes recruits would shoot their friends. Sometimes there would be suicides. On Mother's Day, lightning would strike and kill the soldier. Sometimes a mine...Civilians, on the other hand, did not think of us, the martyrs and veterans. This pain is for me. We were the butcher Mehmet's son Ahmet, teacher Ceyhun, we were the people. We didn't have a title, we were just Turks, but they forgot us. Someone's father, someone's brother, someone's son. Someone's husband. The ruling party wanted to make peace with the terrorists and let the murderers into the cities. He set a trap for the army. Those who were with us were killed or had a hard time. Scorpio always stings. Terrorists broke the agreement... Now the Government and some opposition are trying to leave innocent Kurds to the terrorist organization again... So why did we die while we were alive? Why did our brothers, our peers and our brothers become martyrs? Why do they raise the crippled veteran? Why did our people forget us and sacrificed us to politics? We once lived in the same neighborhood, our mothers used to give us bread and tomato paste. Weren't OUR lives as important as your parties or the bread you eat or the water you drink? It's futile, even if you are my enemy, even if you don't care about the soldiers, even if we are a handful of Turks left, we will shout. Every Turkish person borns as soldiers. If you can't finish us. We have always existed in the ancient world, we will always exist. VICTORY will be ours. Long live victory! How happy is the one who says I am a Turk

In this story, the soldiers at the military post knew that they would be supervised by their commander. But the commander not only came the night before, he caught the soldier on duty while he was sleeping. Together with a few soldiers with him, he captured the entire outpost together with his commanders without firing a single shot. That's why he was angry.
Thanks for the explanation for the scene 🎬😊
he has every right to be angry, lesson well taught
Thank you for the comment Ercan and taking the time to write it.

I got it, thanks for taking the time to write that.

Thank you and thank you for sharing your story and a bit of information. Highly appreciated 🙏

I am the deputy commander of the police station in such a place. Our police station was raided the day after the earthquake last year. A mortar landed about two meters away from me and I was lucky it didn't explode.

"Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace.

Bazen acemi askerler arkadaşlarını vururdu. Bazen intiharlar olurdu. Orduya tuzak kurdu. Bizim yanımzda olanlar öldürüldü yada zor günler yaşadı. Akrep her zaman sokar. Teröristler anlaşmayı bozdu...Şimdi İktidar ve bazı muhlalefet masum Kürtleri yeniden terör örgütüne bırakmaya çalıyor...Peki biz neden yaşarken öldük? abilerimiz akranlarımız kardeşlerimiz neden şehit düştü. Neden kötürüm gazi kaldırlar. Halkımız neden bizi unuttu ve siyasete kurban ettiler. Biz bir zamanlar aynı mahallerlerde yaşamıştık, annlerimiz bizlere salçalı ekmekler verirdi. BİZLERİN hayatları, partileriniz kadar yada yediğiniz ekmek, içitiğiniz su kadar önemli değilmiydi?
Nafile, bana düşman olsanızda askerleri umursamasanızda, bir avuç Türk kalsakta, haykıracağız. Her Türk asker doğar. Bizleri bitiremezseniz. Kadim dünyada hep vardık, varolacağız. ZAFER bizim olcaktır. Yaşasın zafer. Ne mutlu Türküm diyene
Ne güzel yazmışsınız
@@xooos00 Sayın kardeşim, Döndüğümde kalabalık yerler duramıyorum, bir sürü başka şey bilen bilir. bir duvardan bambaşka bir yere düşmüş gibiydim. Herkes gülüyordu. Neşeliydiler. Neydi komik olan? Dökülen kanlar sayesinde mutlu ve neşeliydiler, trajik komik. Şırnakta bir kayada yazardı, hala gözlerimin önünde "Bu günde ölmedim anne" Keşke Yüce milletimiz :) Şehitlerimizi gazilerimizi sloganlarla değilde özde sevseydi. İşte bu hayasızca akın o zaman dururdu. Sağlıcakla kalınız. Unutmadan elim hala silah tutar, yine de Türk milletine küsemem.
Welcome back man we miss you
It actually happened , the commander's name is Mete Yarar. He is an awesome human being, he is a a patriot but not a chauvinist, he is just an amazing man! He is frequently on tv as a political commentator.
METE YARAR İLE ALAKASI YOK...
Mete leri karıştırdın kardeş, Mete horozoğlu
Just another Thursday for any Turkish soldier. This is not fiction
One of the soldiers fell asleep during guard duty and this is the speech to wake them up to the reality of an enemy ambush and to inspire them...
And it worked well, I guess.
Hey thanks for this video ❤
You are so welcome!
As a Turk i did my duty proudly! but if they call me back i will go tomorrow ! Vatan sagolsun Millet Sagolsun ! 🇹🇷
Thanks for watching !!
Well, this scene is actually pretty close to how motivational military speeches are in Turkiye.
In order to grasp the power of this scene, somebody should be carrying a heroic spirit on his/her body like a Finnish...
🙌🏻😊
for 40 years, Turkısh soldiers have been serving to country under such conditions....

You watch a Turkish movie and post a reaction video, your comments are really good, after all, this is a good thing for us, but what I really appreciate is that you also add Turkish subtitles to it. Thank you my friend, thank you for your efforts, I wish you continued success. By the way, my English is very weak, I am writing via Google translate :) sorry :)
@janne, commander is not talking about a death to come soon, on the contrary, he is referring to a previous event where some guys slept while guarding their posts and (he busted them) thus for a mistake of few, entire stronghold would fall. Hence his rage.
Copy that - I got it now 😊
@@JanneNordman i served there )

Helal olsun. Thanks.

Dear Janne, glad to see you back and thank you for the Atatürk quote in between, that is one quote we have to keep in mind as Turkish nation at all times or is it maybe too late ?..hope not.
I am not too old and it is not too late - that's a good thing keep in mind 😊 and never ever give up the hope and dreams, at least for me those are the forces that pushes me through everyday.
@@JanneNordman You're right, where there's life there's hope, always. He also said :" The strength you need is in the noble blood in your veins" we'll be strong and we'll never give up, thank you for the motivation 🙏

Nefes'i sinemada izlediğimde çatışma sahnesi birden başladı ve gözlerimi kırpmadan kıpırdayamadan izledim sonuna kadar.
