One of the best DLC songs ever available for purchase. It's a classic GH2 song (insert Smash Hits DLC comment here) updated with master recordings and full band charts, it's hard as hell (probably the hardest GH5 era DLC), and the song slaps. What more could you want?
All the above reasons are why this is one of the oldest DLC videos I have. The recording date on this bad boy is January 6, 2021 (yes, THAT January 6th). I bought this song legitimately when it was new, so I've had this song for over a decade, but I only ever got around to actually FCing it when I started recording DLC videos for RUclips, which was shortly after getting my RGH console and getting all the DLC license-shared to me on my main console. With a whole new catalog of DLC at my finger tips, I just scrolled through the list and played the songs I liked first. I recorded a small handful of songs, maybe 15, before formally starting the process of recording all the DLC songs, played in order of release date.
Most of those first DLC recordings had to be redone because I found better paths thanks to CHOpt, but this was not one of them. I ran this chart through CHOpt and it gave me a nearly identical path to what I used here. There's a couple tough activations, a couple that I could get another note squeezed in potentially, but overall I'm happy with this old run. Happy enough to not feel the need to redo it, at least, and upload the nearly 2 year old video. I think there's only 2 other videos I have yet to upload that are from this old original session, all the other ones had to be redone because I didn't feel satisfied enough with the score.
I'm kinda glad I have some old recordings still so I can see my progress through Quickplay plus. At the end of my Black Widow FC I do a setlist scroll and I'm at Rock Rank 103. If you pay attention at the very beginning of this video you can see my rock rank is 107. All that progress came from playing other DLC songs before this one, and after FCing every other DLC in this game (spoiler), my rock rank is somewhere in the 230's. That's a lot of stars.

When this song came out as DLC it made my hand cramp so bad after playing it for the first time. I remembered the cover on GH2 did the same to me when I first play it on Expert. Now, years later, the Original was giving me problems too, even after years of experience. How fitting lol.

Me too but I know it’s hard to hit for some people with smaller hands and/or hurts their hands to play it, so I understand it from their perspective. Guess that’s why Rock Band doesn’t have any GYO chords.

@@KyleHUNK GRO, GYO, and GBO notes exist for keyboards in Rock Band 3. But otherwise will never be used with the exception of two songs. A GBO note in Don’t Look Back in Anger, and a GRO note but I don’t remember the song title.
I still remember the hate on GH forums about the RB-YO chords. Even a dev had to comment on that forum justifying the use of those chords. He posted a video of Mustaine doing that type of hand movement. lol!

Aww man, arguably the most brutal song to FC in GH5’s DLC. Interestingly enough, I remembered this song for some reason in LEGO Rock Band. It was family friendly enough to be in the game but boy was it not family friendly on your fingers.

Bruh they didn’t allow Don’t Stop Beliving to play on Lego Rock Band but they let Hangar 18 a sign with 8 solos and This Calling which was on Saw III aka. The most family friendly movie of all time

I just saw Megadeth a week ago and they played this song! As a gen-z, this is one of my favorite songs, and I hate it when people my age listen to music from around this time and say that they were "born in the wrong generation" bc they weren't. They just have an amazing music taste 🤘🔥

So many differences between this and the RB2 chart but I'd be here all night listing them all so here's some of the most noticeable:
GYO chords in intro.
Chord HOPOs in chorus.
Interludes here (e.g. 1:38) are charted like in GH2.
Riffs between the solos have RB-YO chords whereas RB2 is Y-YB.
4:00 - More chords here than the RB chart which is Y-Y-Y-YB | Y-Y-YB.
5:03 - Alt-strums here instead of the descending sweeps.
5:08 - A blue HOPO separates this alt-strum section.
The stats breakdown has 11 solos listed whereas the breakdown in RB shows 8 solos probably because HMX includes 1:38, 1:50, 2:38 and 2:50 as part of the solos.

Mistake on my part, turns out I had the guitar track cranked all the way up but every other instrument set normally.

Great song, perhaps prob the best out of the 3 charts, its kinda hard to say that since GH2 is a cover but i do not entirely like the RB2 DLC chart.
However screw the GB YO, i think its sligthly slower than that one bit on Before i forget bridge where there is a fast transition like that near the end of the bridge but that is like repeated 2 times, its hell to an otherwise, still very hard song actually, quite fun too.
Oh right, GH TV chart... its kinda fun but song is shortened [had to include 30 seconds of nothing a start of it tho] so eh mixed bag.

i miss seeing the rock ranking on wii. i was in the 210s or so and my ranking was pretty high, i forget where. waiting for the day that i can get all this dlc on there, i only had about 1/5 of it (no exports)
Great song, although I still believe that this song should've made it into SH over Raining Blood.
Those BR to YO chord shifts at the latter half are the only reason I can't FC this song, they are way too awkward.
