- In this video I put all the guitarists from the 10 big Thrash Metal bands into a tier ranking list. As a guitarist myself I feel like I have good enough judgement on how good these guys are! I know the video is a long one, so feel free to skip to the end and see the list in full.

Ah nice list man, a great bunch of guitarists that helped you get into Thrash. Some of those I need to check out, and some great names on there too! I might do a part 2 featuring other Thrash bands and guitarists. Cheers man 😊🤘🏻
Really cool video. I really like Kirk's old wah-wah solos. Marty Friedman's Megadeth solos are out of this world. Mt favorite solos of his are in "High Speed Dirt". I really enjoy Kerry and Jeff's guitar solos; the ehammy bar insanity is perfect for Slayer's songs. Scott and James are probably some of the best rhythm players in thrash. I might place Spitz and Altus in A. I think I'd put Peterson in S based on the riffs. Kisser's solo in "Arise" is just iconic. Love it.

I'd agree with that, Scott and James are 2 tight rhythm players, I think only Peterson beats them! That's cool, I think Lee Altus and Dan Spitz are great. Interesting to hear you'd put them in A. Peterson in S, wow!! Yes, Kisser is amazing! Love his style. Cheers man 😊🤘🏻

Good to hear your thoughts on them Josh. Probably agree with your top tier, they are fantastic guitarists of thrash. Probably also agree with what you say about the Metallica duo, they have lost their edge somewhat.

Great list, man. Still trying to figure out why Kiko left Megadeth, for real... maybe that's a share of Brazilian musicians in mainstream bands equals to 1, and the place was taken by Eloy on Slipknot 😂

A couple I definitely would have ranked higher here, those being Bobby Gustafson and Gus Pepa. Other than that, I'm pretty much in agreement here with you Josh. Cheers mate 👍

Hi Josh!!! this one was a really cool one an a tier list you see very often here in the VC and coming froma guitar player point of view is remarkable..... I really Friedman is on a league of his own and so is Kiko unfortunately his stint in the band was rather brief. Totally agree with the "evolution" of Kirk. I always had trouble with Slayer's solos they're not very "remarable" if you put them aside the other big bands. I have to pay more attention to the guiatr work of Overkill and Exodus.... cheers and be well
Hi Cristian, cheers for watching man! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video mate, really appreciate that! Yeah, tier lists are not seen often in the VC, I thought I'd do something a little different, and also the fact I haven't seen a Thrash guitarist list gave me the idea to do one. And the fact I play too I hoped would add some weight to my reasons for putting them where.
Yeah, Freidman is unreal, and I even love his solo albums too! It's a shame Kiko is no longer in the band, I thought he was fantastic. Ha yeah, Kirk's regression is quite painful to see at times. That's fair enough man, I get that Slayer's solos aren't as memorable as other solos in Thrash. I think they have their own uniqueness to them. Yeah, you should pay some attention to Exodus guitar work, especially Gary Holt he's fantastic! Overkill also have some great guitar work throughout their career. Cheers man, you too 😊🤘🏻

@@JoshKeech He deserves to be up there with the best of Megadeth, considering he's a cripple especially. He has a detached tendon in his index finger of his fretting hand. Happened in a motorcycle accident when he was a kid. Check out the youtube video "Chris Poland shredding". He's my favorite in Megadeth.
@adamwarlock3530 Oh damn, I really didn't know that! Damn, that's incredible he played with a tendon missing in his finger! If I knew that I would have given him more credit, I'm guessing that's why his style is so unique. Yeah I'll definitely check out that video, that's awesome! He's definitely a great guitarist 😁🤘🏻
Tommy Vetterli was on one of the worst Kreator albums unfortunately, but his work with Coroner is top notch tech thrash, so he doesn't deserve C, not even close. Amazing shredder, so check out Coroner if you haven't already.
Thanks for watching! Ah ok, that's cool! I didn't know Tommy Vetterli was in Coroner. The only reason why I put Tommy in C is because I haven't heard him play, and I haven't heard that Kreator album. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have included guitarists I haven't listened to before. I don't doubt he's a good player, just haven't listened to him play. I'll definitely have to check out some Coroner, I've known of them but never listened to them. Thanks for letting me know 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Marty is superior guitarist Is in any style a music he plays

@ScreaminT81 Ahh ok, I understand. I did my best to be diligent to others who deserve the praise, but when doing a video like this it's unavoidable to talk about the main guys. I might do a part 2 with some 2nd tier bands and slightly newer bands, giving them guys some credit.
