Thank you for this instructional! I successfully tied my first fancy lanyard knot thanks to you. It just goes to show that with the right teacher you can learn anything. Thanks again friend!
WeaversofEternity; I see that the last comment was two years ago so I don't know if you'll ever see this; however, I just wanted you to know that this old Grandfather (74), and my youngest Granddaughter (12), believe that you are the best 'instructor' on RUclips for building various paranoid items. We undertook this hobby just recently, knowing absolutely nothing about it. And so we searched RUclips and waded through countless postings looking for one who was slow enough, easily understood, and had expertise in what they were attempting to teach. As far as Hannah and I are concerned; you're it! Thanks and God Bless. >
Thanks for the easy to follow instructions and good use of the camera to show each individual step. You went slowly enough not to leave any mystery in what you demonstrating. I also appreciated that you used a contrasting background that made the cordage standout and be seen against the background. I know the demonstration is well done when I can successfully tie the knot the first time. Thanks
Wow, thank you so much for the kind and articulated words! It's viewers like you that I especially enjoy making tutorials for. I'm really glad it helped you out. Thanks again for the support! :)
Got some bright orange paracord and ties this on my CRKT Foresight. For the bead, I drilled two holes in a cheap die I had lying around. I love it, great tutorial, man
Perfect! Thanks, I really appreciate this; made my own steel spacer with a hammered finish, and it looks great on my little Spyderco McBee. Thanks again for the clear directions.
awesome job teaching me how to do this properly. i love this knot for making small lanyards from shorted cut off lengths of paracord, but have never gotten that nice snake type pattern until now. subscribed.
Sounds like a good idea! I've yet to get any skull beads that can fit two strands of 550, but I think it would look great with a skull bead! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for the video. I watched another guy who didn't use the last step and my lanyard was messed up after a few knots. This is a lot better way of tying it. Thank you again.
I've used this knot on all my small knives, with various hardware as spacers. On smaller knives I used a 330 parachord instead of 550. Really scales it down nicely.! Loved the video, use it repeatedly as a reference.! You have to be careful getting into cars though, the nuts tend to whack or scrape against the car if you leave the lanyard hanging out of your pocket.
Thank you for taking the time and sharing. I've been wanting to tie this knot for a while and your instructions are the easiest to follow. Another knot learnt.
Love this tutorial! You are VERY easy to follow, I love your pace, and you are very clear! I've got to keep practicing because my knots don't end up straight. They start to twist and curve to the left. D'OH! So practice I will . . . but wanted to say GREAT JOB! and Thanks!
nice video, it really helped me, i put one of these on my micro recon 1 after watching this....If you take the "innards" or core out of the 550 a skull bead will work..again nice video
I think I am going to try this the only thing I might do a little different is I will be going to a craft store to see if I can find some skull beads which might make it look more interesting. Thanks for the demo it was very helpful.
COOL We just bought a couple of knives that we want to put a paracord lanyard on and this seems so easy. Thanks for the help and I am looking forward to seeing all of your videos about the job of Weaving.
Thanks so much for the vid. I got some paracord at Wal-Mart and these little brass fittings from the hardware that I polished. I was able to duplicate the snake knot and the diamond whatever knot. I couldn't cinch up the diamond knot. Will have to practice. Thanks again. My little SOG is stylin'.
Yeah, I only use this method for lanyards. I've used TIAT's method for making snake knot bracelets, but this method is the same method used by those who make the official CRK snake knot lanyards. Thanks for watching!
Nice Lanny bro. Did mine with a tiki head bead only on one piece of cord with the other on the outside (wouldn't fit both). Looks sick. Thanks for the help.
I don't know what size nut you used but I found that M6 in A4 stainless steel works for me. Cost about £1.80 per 20 delivered on Amazon from Graphskill - for U.K. I got some other stuff, shackles for bracelets etc. at the same time from them so postage was shared between orders. Everything was shiny when delivered as well. :) M5 should work for gutted 550 paracord. Thanks again for the video.
Interesting way you have to tie this knot. I tie it differently as found on many chinese knotting sites, but also here on youtube check out "How to Tie a Paracord Snake Knot by TIAT". I think you will see the difference.
I'm well aware this is not a true snake knot, but if you look closely at how CRK ties their lanyards, this is the way they do it. The whole purpose of this video tutorial was to emulate the specific style of lanyard you can buy from CRK or other knife dealers. I have another video on how to do the true snake knot.
i did this to one of my knifes but i dont have any bolts or any thing so put like 5 knots and then left sting at the bottom the 2 stings and but 2 nice wood beads on each one melted the ends so the beads would not come off it tuned out nice for my first time
I've been using this video for years. Thanks 😊

Bro, i think I've actually found a video that is easy to understand. It's like Mr. Rogers is walking you through paracording. Fantastic brother.
