Proposed tax rate could help 8,000 children in Travis County

The Travis County Commissioners Court unanimously passed a proposed tax rate election for the 2025 Tax Year, which would increase taxes by two-and-a-half cents to generate about $75 million to provide early childhood and afterschool care, benefiting more than 8,000 children in an effort to make childcare more accessible and affordable for low-income families.
