    Really nice job. I have one in my stash but I've not started. I'm making a Tamiya Mp4/4 now.

    Excuse my ignorance, I'm totally new to the F1 scene. I'm curious as to why there is a wood plank on the bottom of the car? wouldn't titanium or some other metal be lighter? I'm working on the same kit right now and glad I came across this video. You turned a sows ear into a real looker

      There is a minimum height between the floor of the car and road in f1, they use the wood in plank to mesure the height. If the plank is worn too much, it means that it scraped the road a lot, which mean that the car was too low and illegal.

    Great work mate. I am getting a steal on this model ($20). But i have never done any model work or have any knowledge about all this. Is it necessary to use sand papers, paints and all the equipments you have? Cant we just take it out of the box and assemble them just like that? Sorry for the newbie questions.

      Good luck mate. I would suggest getting a spare decal sheet ready before starting. Original decals are too old and a pain to work with. I bought mine from ebay, its still old, but it came in handy during the build.

      @@scalehobbyfever7941 Where did you buy the West decals and everything? Just bought one from ebay but it doesn't feel like the real thing without those genuine tobacco sponsors 😂

      @@onedoorfilms i got the west decals from ebay, brand is Museum Collection. Yeap without the 'West' decals, the model would not look as nice, just google and see for yourself.

      Won this kit about ten years ago. Haven’t done a formula one car yet. Just getting back into building after many years of being away from it.

    Very beautiful work! I start the kit but all the aluminum parts must be sand. Do you use a little sander? Or paper? Which one ? Thanks a lot for answer. 👏

    • @scalehobbyfever7941
      @scalehobbyfever7941  Год назад

      sorry for the late reply. i use Tamiya sandpaper for all sanding work. I start with 400 grit for heavy sanding parts, 600 grit, and finally 1000 grit.

      @@nitinjacob3109 hey if it helps, i found the decal to be real old and they wither, so for white decals spray paint them with clear coat before soaking in water, also after spray paint you have to precise cut each decals cause they no longer are cut after the spray

    • @dustlessbard007
      @dustlessbard007 Год назад +1

      Soaking in water applying decal and waiting atleast a day for fully drying, or else they will peel off

    • @scalehobbyfever7941
      @scalehobbyfever7941  Год назад +1

      yes the decals are first dipped in water, for about 1 minute. for older decals could take longer. When the decal is loose from the paper backing, slide it into place. Then, use micro set/sol to finish the decal application. Sometimes i use hairdryer for difficult situations.

    Hi nice job. With which sand papers do you work for the parts colored in aluminum. Thanks for answer.👍

    • @scalehobbyfever7941

      i use Tamiya sandpaper. starting with 400, then moving to 1000 to prepare the body for primer.
