    But does this apply to moto3 bikes?
    I come across corners which do not require weight-shifting and pushing the stick back and forth only makes the bike act nervous.

    hi, this was exactly what I discovered today as total newbie into xbox one S gamepad and motogp 20/21 ... initially I tried motogp21 with added sensitivity settings for controller, trying to setup everything as nonlineary sensitive as possible, but I had still issues with steering into corners (the "skippy" steering, like with digital keys, but even worse, as I tried to move joystick with thumb slighlty directly into right/left, but this obviously dont work well, as there are still very drastic movements) ... then I tried motogp20 where such linearity/sensitivity settings are not present at all(!) and finally realized, that when I unassign things from LS up/down, then I can smoothly "slide" with joystick in "full circle", which eliminated any shaking - the key is that this way you can yourself "dynamically tweak" sensitivity by pushing LS in particular angle firmly... WOW ... that was totally new to me and I finally understood how people can steer nicely through corners with gamepad... your video describes this deeply as very few if not single one on the net !!! ... as a total newbie (and old fat guy), I also dont use gear up/down having automatic gearbox, so I also unassigned on controler the clutch and also rear brake (not so useful and dangerous in fact) and set front brake to X instead of LT (more sensitive on right hand controlling together acceleration/brake) ... in my experience, I am steering in "bottom" half circle of LS only, having LS up as "view back" (for now, test, possible on straights to try), I also assigned gear up/down to Y/B for now (will see later if useable), and I also assigned "weight forward" on A, to let faster straights at full speed (is this okay?) and "weight backward" (sit up) on LT in fact (as its easier to brake sitting up with X and to push both LT/RT to make wheelee :-D for fun .... well, just trying to play with the controls, and it seems that in motogp21 all these things will make it even more sensitive, so I finally stopped looking for ANY alternative controller (dreaming about some gyro based wheel till now, unsuccessfully ...), last but not least, I also switched off force feedback as its distracting in difficult situations in fact ... so this is for NEWBIES looking into consistent intro into motogp and gamepad :-)
    EDIT well, okay, "rear brake" IS useful for faster and aggressive cornering but it must be sensitive too, so I put it on LT (instead of weight backward, left unassigned), to precisely control braking during cornering and accelerating together to drift ... X+A together (front brake + weight forward) makes perfect fast hard braking before corners in some cases too ... at least, it seems ... well, I tried to think loudly while practicing now and will definitely study your expert view too (quite hard to me to decipher voiceover for animated gamepad now :-D)

      BTW, I know that I probably "discovered the america" by properly using steering joystick as a wheel, but for years, I NEVER saw such description how to use it and saw lot of unanswered questions and frustrations of newbies like me...

    With MotoGP 2021 I feel like Gear Ratios aren't realistic. Do you feel same? For example, Sachsenring Turn 11 is a 6th Gear corner, in the previous MotoGP games it was same. But with 2021, Gear Ratios are forked up. Most of the corners we have to use 1st or 2nd gear, there's not much variation. Only in the straights we get to use 4-5-6 gear, which is not fun at all. What do you think?

    But how is it that you're able to shift your weight forward while braking w/o doing a nose wheelie?? So many who are not accustomed to the physics on the game already have a tough time keeping the rear down just under straight line braking. But you are doing it while shifting your weight forward... Your bike setups must be amazing lol.

    @Dyl469 i think youre wrong on leaning forward on straights this just makes you slower not faster for some reason in motogp21 leaning forward you will never reach high speed compared to not leaning forward on a straight.... and since that does not work iam very very concerned how leaning forward works in corners if it gives even any benefit.

    • @Dyl469
      @Dyl469  3 года назад +2

      I disable my rider button map to "sit up"so when I lean forward he doesn't sit up from behind the fairing costing me drag,I've done that since GP18 and I've had multiple world lap records since.
      Go to controller binding and turn off leaning forward to fix this, hope this helps
      Also in the corners the leaning forwards helps pick the bike up smoothly which results in faster corner exit n better tyre wear👍

    Here's the real problem. In real life on a real bike, you're not controlling body movement with your hands. And when you're leaned over, hanging off the side of the bike, there is very little real pushing your weight forward and backward, when you're leaned over, you're already hunched forward, so if there is any advantage other then precision control it's rubbish. Also for how "Sim" style they are requiring for a game, where is the ability to steer the bike one way while leaned the opposite and the ability to do it very precise? Like in situations where you need to edge closer to the left side of the track but need to be leaning in to the right for the next corner? And how the hell would you accomplish this on a controller when you got your hands doing so many other things? Body positioning should be like the transmission option semi-automatic. And while we're on transmissions, you shouldn't be punished for using semi-auto, they need to dial it in so you can still get optimal performance. Why? Reason 1- in real life, the shift light is in your line of sight looking forward, not down and to the right. Reason 2- even with a good surround sound it is real hard to tell where the bike is in the rpm range once your in the mid rpm range, the tone really has no change.
    And their physics are broke when I see videos of people going full throttle 6th grade, some how going straight to second over-revving and they are not tumbling in the gravel, then bouncing it off the Rev-limiter on the straights but still over 2 seconds faster then the real life track record. So, to produce fast lap times, you're having to play unrealistic to play their "Sim" game and be competitive?
    I think this game would benefit a lot with a secondary steering system, like the yaw system of a plane, you can turn the plane with a precise flat turn using rudders(similar to switching lanes on a bike, you don't really lean)or tip it on its side and pull back on the stick(leaning to turn the bike).
    Precision has been my big killer, I've tried the whole rotation style turning thing and it don't work for me, it's very unnatural(a good game should be pretty fluid and natural feeling, especially for someone who grew up on motorcycles and video games) and I have tested their precision in the controller on long high speed sweeping corners by pulling the joystick all the way over with full throttle, and would inch into the inside grass, then rewind it back to where the bike noticeably started drifting in and move the stick just a hair hold it their and restart from their, the trajectory difference was insane and was running it wide into the grass. So, for a game that is pushing Sim and realism, they sure are lacking true precision and realism to be able to accomplish realistic lap times without playing unrealistic. But then like I said, the fact people are posting videos of being 2+ seconds faster then the lap record while doing things that would not be possible in real life from a physics standpoint that the game doesn't have even relatively real physics. So as far as I'm concerned, the game is garbage.

    • @NEFFxsaVaGe
      @NEFFxsaVaGe 3 года назад +2

      Milestone should do what they are doing with the supercross games and integrate dual-stick body and bike movement. One stick controls the body. The other stick controls the bike.

    • @MrBurntasphalt55
      @MrBurntasphalt55 3 года назад

      @@NEFFxsaVaGe I use the right stick to lean back still use the left for leaning forward since I really don't do it. The only problem I have with doing it is the camera control of you don't go straight down, and you can't create a dead zone to eliminate that. I think they just need to go back to putting it on auto if you want then you can override it if you wanna do wheelies or something just by simply pulling down. The right stick should be used for fine steering adjustment so you don't have to sit the bike up to get to the outside edge of the track if you're in a double sweeper and slightly off line. Or use it for corner entry to push to the outside edge while needing the bike to be upright or starting to be leaned in. But the way they're designing the game as is ridiculous. Somehow these top players are breaking real lap records by up to almost 6 seconds, but you watch their videos and in real life they would be eating gravel with the things they do. And they say brake earlier, but I watch their brake application points and how much brake they grab and when I try to replicate it with their settings, using the rewind feature trying to figure it out and it's just not happening. I was learning assen and going through sector 1 I was right on the trail of the top ranked ghost, then coming to that u bend right after all the sweepers, exactly on his line all the way through the corner, literally maybe a bike length if that, then I get gapped by over a second on that straight away alone regardless of setup and gearing. Which tells me something isn't right with the game(which there is when you see people going from 6th to 1st without seeing any gear in between on their hud and they're not eating dirt) or they found a way to cheat. Which I can see cheating on a pc because you can go mess with the coding, but not a console. The fact milestone sees these lap times and haven't done something just shows how much they don't really give a shit. They're building this game for a handful of people and pretty much telling everyone else fuck off. I usually buy all their bike games but this year I only bought motogp simply because rossi changed teams.

    • @dannycarlson4327
      @dannycarlson4327 3 года назад +1

      Not actually true. On a real sportbike you push your weight backward during braking, then the further you drop off the side of your bike, the lower your head/ upper body moves down/ forward, hinging at the waist (pushing weight forward and down). You can feel significant difference in how the bikes handles in corners when you keep your head high vs. low.

    • @MrBurntasphalt55
      @MrBurntasphalt55 3 года назад

      @@dannycarlson4327 I said very little, and that little movement you do is not done by your hands. Simply put, they're asking you do to a million things with your hands that in reality are tasks that all 4 extremities and your body do, making this "sim" no Sim at all unless you fork over the money for a true motorcycle Sim rig. Because of this, they're taking the fun out of the game. When it's easier to do in real life, there is no point in the game. When you have to spend more then a actual bike costs to get the full experience they want you to get it, there is no point in the game, I'll just get on my bike and go ride. Yeah, my bike not be 300hp but it's not like you feel 300hp in a game anyway. And yes, the game is Harder then real life, just watch actual motogp riders play it and have a laugh.
