Thanks for video. Not everyone has the robot painters or even the painters that you ride on to do this job. Nice job guys.
Thanks for watching and your kind comments on my video. Glad you enjoyed it! Please subscribe for more!
Thanks guys .. i never thought of running the line that goes right down the middle of the field as a reference or running the box lines all the way to mark both boxes… Thank you guys great video
The center line saves a lot of time. I use one when laying out Lacrosse fields as well.
i’m stunned at 1 HR 😩 so far i only got 1 SIDELINE line down and that took me 1.5 hour 😂😂 can you guys come help me out 😅
GREAT JOB GUYS ‼️
Yesterday we laid out 3 football fields and re painted 2 football fields in 2 total hours with 3 guys. Needless to say we were worn out. We have one to lay out tomorrow.
That is some mighty fine Surveying methods.
Thanks for your kind comment!
Great video! Can you do a Volleyball court for HS 60ft/30ft? Covid is preventing indoor sports at the moment and the ropes pose a safety hazard for grass/outdoor volleyball. Thank you!
thank you. from Thailand
Thank you too!
And from Ukraine as well)👍 cheers!
Great job! Nice way to do it by hand. I use a robot!
Thanks, I’m old school. A robot would be cool!
Great video
Thanks for your compliment. Glad you liked the video!!!
Hope it was helpful!!??
How many cans of paint did this take?
8-10 cans on initial layout. 4-6 cans to repaint. Depends on speed of walking and length of the turf.
How often do you need to repaint?@@CREENBIRDVideos
Amazing video, what is the name of the equiptment that you use to spray the paint?
It’s an aerosol marking stick from Pioneer Athletics. It is used with their brand aerosol field paint.
Thanks for you compliment!
CREENBIRD Videos cheers
How many tape measures and cans did you use? How much string do you recommend?
I use two 400 foot tapes and two 300 foot tapes. Approximately 8-10 cans for the first lining. Repainting usually takes 4-6 cans depending on how faded it is. Easier to keep it fresh. Enough string to stretch a piece the length of the field. 360 feet. And another piece to go across the field. 210 feet.
What kind of string/cable is best?@@CREENBIRDVideos
How many stakes do you use for this set up ?
I use 4 big screwdrivers that fit through the end of the tape measures. I use an additional 4 or 5 screwdrivers for marking the boxes. Bright colors are great so you can see them when making straight lines and not losing them. Having them fit in your pocket is beneficial so you don’t have to walk back to the truck or cart when you need one.
can you tell me the normal human steps from penalty spot to goal for a official football field
12 yards or 36 feet.
So you would walk 12 paces.
@@CREENBIRDVideos 12 normal steps or big steps
@@thefootballempire1646 big steps
What are the paint materials called?
Game Day aerosol by pioneer athletics.
I believe you can also square up the field using 6, 8 and 10
Yes, you are correct. I have used it before when lining fields that aren’t mowed short, or are not flat and level.
How do you do it !
@@elsierra9741 just like the 30 40 50 squaring up in the video except you would go 60 80 and 100 feet. It would be more accurate.
How many guys did you have on the job?
There were 2 of us on this video. 3 or 4 people can make it faster, if they all know what to do. It’s harder to do with only one person.
Can you show me what the equipment for spray

Or you can buy a paint machine for a more professional result. The video uses the aerosol method, which is fast and cheaper than buying a full on machine. You can always go over the aerosol layout with a machine later.
How do you make sure corners line up?
When you square up in the beginning. When you measure equal at each end after squaring up it stays the same.
@@CREENBIRDVideos I guess what I am saying is that how can you make sure that say North Corner A is going to be inline with South Corner A?
As long as your first corner is 100% square, everything else should stay square as long as your tape measures are straight and your measurements are equal. Keeping the tapes straight is key.
what brand are the paint sticks?

Looking for someone that does this kind of work with a drone.
Sorry, I’m from the tape measure and string generation.
@@CREENBIRDVideos neat answer, me too.
Big Box = Penalty Area
Small Box = Goal Area
Thanks! I’m an old school grounds guy. I’m not a coach or former player. Glad you watched my video! I will work on my terminology next time.
Np sir i enjoyed the vid ❤️
Too bad dude got paint all over your tape measure.
Yes, that is the price of being fast. We wipe them when reeling, but we use them so much they are cheap and don’t last long.
No way you would do that in 1 hour.
My team member and I can do a full soccer field in less than an hour using this method on a field that is sufficient in size and properly mowed. I have done this exact field by myself from scratch in less than an hour and a half. In my defense, I'm getting older and I'm a little bit slower, but I've been painting fields this way for 20+ years. Thanks for watching my video and commenting. Correct. It a do it yourself video for people who want to line a soccer field without “professional “ airless sprayers, gps robots and specialized stencil equipment. Thanks again for commenting!!!
